Default Vote Message: Well, I would vote, but I just don't feel strongly for either candidate. Douchebag Turd Sandwich

Having been so deeply involved with the NFL draft for more than a few years, I have seen quite a bit in terms of top prospects honoring comitments, choosing to stay in school, go pro, etc. and I can honestly say I've never once faulted a young, talented kid for deciding to stay (or in this case, go to) in school versus turning pro and making tons of dough--including Leinart.

Garland rocked the A's earlier this season for a CG shutout; let's hope Jon can put it all together today and give the Sox a chance to take the series with Buehrle toeing the rubber tomorrow. Will tonight's game be a classic matchup at the House of Horrors or will the Sox grab a W versus a West coast club?

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 01:34 PM) We had some great Buehrle talk the other night after the game. The real focus was whether or not Mark was a true ace. I argued from the point that he was and asked everyone around to name 15 pitchers they'd rather have than Buehrle. There may have been 10 or so, but not very many more. Perhaps there aren't as many true aces around the game these days, but just from a durability and his consecutive streak of starts with 6 innings pitched, I think he qualifies as ace material. Buehrle, to me, is perhaps the most underrated starter in all of baseball. Excellent post per usual Bozley. Another name to consider when discussing underrated starters: Livan Hernandez. If we were going to hand out awards, I think he'd get the nod. If Buehrle wins 18+ this season, the gold glove is as good as his. His pitching W's and L's are going to have a big say in the matter.

QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) Maybe someone out there can help out with some info. My wife's sister was accepted to Sarah Lawrence College in NY. Tuition is approx. $50K per year. The FA package (loans, work-study, etc) offered to her leaves her about $25K short. Any ideas where she can go for more help financially? Banks won't lend an 18 year old that kind of money without a co-signer. There is a ton of money to be had out there; you just have to dig it out. Can a mod please move this over to SLAP to help this guy out? Thanks.

Alright, I'm going to go ahead and throw this one out there because I suspect I'm not the only one that has participated in this gross negligence. There have been a handful of times I have recieved phone calls while driving, whether in my own neighborhood or not, picked them up, talked with whomever, only to hang up and realize I have completely spaced-out for the past few minutes. I don't know how I ended up where I did, all I know is I have arrived at my destination but can't really remember changing lanes, making turns, etc. Naurally, after I get out of the car I realize how bad I really was and begin to understand why the rest of the world hates Americans.

I think we've actually invited some of Chicago's finest to blow off some of our stuff while they were on duty and they were more than happy to oblige. Of course, that is all of naught as this year we will be heading to my lakehouse on the chain and who knows what thost psyco DNR/sheriff's police enforce up there.

Just thought of something, don't have the heart to look through this thread, but felt it was worth mentioning just in case. The reason Brendan Donnely and Kevin Millar don't appear in the game is due to the fact they were scabs during the strike of the mid-90's. I would assume they are not part of the MLBPA, therefore negating all chances of them being in the game. Also, just a quick question: when you purchase legends through the MVP rewards, where can you go to access these guys?

I fully endorse this law/bill. Keep both hands on the wheel skippy.

Although I'm not a big car guy, I thought this might make for an awfully neat thread. What type or car or truck--model, year, make--do ya'll drive? If ya have pictures, post em! I'll have mine up sometime this afternoon. (Remember to block out the plates )

Back to the House of Horrors. 1/3 and I'm a happy guy. Tonight's matchup heavily favors the A's.

Wow. I truly felt Rehnquist would be the first to retire, but this was suspected for some time now.

Don't mind me.

Notes: Mentionings of Damaso, BMac, Jenks, Wing

QUOTE(Y2HH @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) I think you were sad to lose Royce RING, not Wing. Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr wrong. Wing. Ryan Wing. Just worry about yourself. -
Naturally, Freddy goes above and beyond the call of duty to throw the CG and give the pen the day off after last night's barnburner. Did he work himself into all-star consideration? The team that keeps on winning!!! Bring out those spiffy new brooms!!!
-
Wing is back--that's very cool to see. Turn it around big fella.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) No team is going to claim Stanton given his $4 million salary for this year. You send the Yankees an average prospect for him and let them pick up his salary. Unless someone claims Stanton (which is unlikely given his contract), the Yankees will have to pay for his contract anyways. For all your Stanton-needs.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 09:52 AM) Woah, I slept through the whole month of July??? ZING!!!!! On that note, I'm out for the day!
-
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) Yeah, you know what you're right. I guess I'm just kind of upset Baj or Jenks didn't get a chance just cause they don't throw with their left hands, this team does have 52 wins, I think I should just have faith in the organization. I still think it's the wrong move but I'll have faith. Keep the faith brother! If complaining about bringing up Kevin AAAA Walker is the only thing we are complaining about on, this, the 30th of July, we're in A-OK shape!
