QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 7, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) Cubdom. A state of extreme mental retardation brought on by drinking of contaminated kool aid. That has to be the most accurate defenition I've seen thus far. You might want to consider adding: complete oblivion and ignorance. "A State of extreme mental retardaion, oblivion and ignorance brought on by drinking of contaminated Cubby kool aid."

What's even funnier is, they are talking about it on the post-game show. "Next, we'll touch on the Cubs pitchers shaving their heads." You have to be f***ing kidding me. The Sox are talking about a seven game winning streak and being ranked amongst the best in the leauge in several catagories, and the Cubs are talking about shaved heads. Define Cubdome.

It really is a lost art. I can't remember the last time I saw a delayed steal, especially from the Pale Hose.

Just wondering: I'm assuming you looked around the website before deciding to join, yes? Well, if you saw no signatures the size of yours, wouldn't you assume it had to be much smaller?

QUOTE(YASNY @ May 7, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) He won't pitch 9. If he had the shutout, maybe. Might be time to get Neal some work. -
The Sox just hit the fifth home run of the game. I'm posting this in the fourth inning; just a quick message to say I love this freaking team. -Wear your Sox gear -Bash your Cubs friends -Yell at ESPN This team is for real. I'm loving it. I've been on cloud nine this season. I thought we were going to be competitive, but c'mon. Pinch me.

QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 6, 2005 -> 10:05 AM) Welcome aboard. A word of caution; this place is rough on those who are casual fans so you better know your stuff. Don't wanna scare you off, just a warning. This place is full of guys who can drop stats on you and over exaggerate to make a point . So be prepared to lie, cheat, steal whatever it takes to hang with the big dogs. Even though the welcome thread says "personal attacks won't be tolerated " (or something to that nature). It happens all the time and the longer you have been around here seems to give you more leeway in that respect. If you say something controversial to a long time member some other long time member will be sure to remind you that because you lack the number of posts you have no right to say anything. Don't let any of this discourage you. Speak your mind say, what you want to say. Freedom of speech (or post) is your inalienable right. If you spend any amount of time here at all , you will be amazed at how heated some of the discussions get over the simplest things. If there is a level above diehard this has to be the place for it. But ,overall, if you're a Sox fan this is a great place to be. Intelligent and passionate people abound here side by side with egomaniacs and buffoons. Also, the first Tuesday of every month none of the posters wear pants. ...just something to keep an eye on.

He'll run the show next year. He knows it. He'll be back. -
QUOTE(YASNY @ May 6, 2005 -> 09:36 AM) That's a stretch. And even if one of these kids can make the team in 2 years, are they going to be the starter? Highly unlikely. Well, that begs the question: Even if you/Sox organization are high on one of these guys in low-A ball, do you think they will come up and out-produce Pierzynski, one of the better game-calling backstops in the American League? Doubtful.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 6, 2005 -> 09:27 AM) I'll tell you why im against a long term deal of AJ. First I think a 2 year deal would suffice, but signing him any longer than that may cause a log-jam of catchers in our system. He have several catching prospects in A and double A ball that will be ready in 2 years. I wouldnt want to be forced to get rid of that talent simply because we signed AJ to a long term deal. its been quite awhile since we have had some catching talent in our system. I don't see a-one to get excited about. Molina, Garcia, Lee? Hansen, Lisk, Hernandez? Aceves, STEWART? No thanks. C'mon back AJ.
