  1. Ugh' I've harassed this guy so bad in the past. All my Cub friends know how I feel about him...if we got him, I'd never live it down. Besides, the Cubs aren't going to give him away for "almost nothing." He throws a wicked fastball in the mid-90s...you don't exactly give that away.
  2. Lou Holtz will go down as one of the best "men" in sporting history. The sporting world is losing a great guy in Holtz; I hope he can now enjoy some of that great golf in SC.
  3. Wow... I just missed out on something, something big. What just happened in this thread? Yikes.
  4. ESPN Reports Spurrier will replace his friend, the great Lou Holtz at the University of South Carolina. Watch out SEC, the Gamecocks are going to be contenders. SI.com
  5. Hate to break it to you... This isn't a video game. This isn't a fantasy world. Contracts are at stake here, actual money. We're the White Sox remember? Gimme a break. Honestly :puke
  6. Are you willing to put your credibility on the line on that one? Cough-Cough...Levine...Cough-Cough
  7. Watch out Cooperstown, here come Christian Guzman and Vinny Castilla. It's m-fing November.
  8. I disagree. Uribe will always be a streaky player. I think the Hawkaroo said it best: with a swing that ugly, we will have to be lucky with whatever we get from him. There are times when he is going to be bananas, and there will be times when he is going to be in bad slumps. Thus is the nature of a free/ugly swinger.
  9. For cripes sake...its November!!! :headshake Football my good people, football.
  10. As you said, the Twinks first priority is re-signing Radke. I think that is where the bulk of this off-season money is headed. Unless Kosike has something for the home-team, the Twins will be out bid. The Jays figure is around 5-5.5 Mil (outrageous isn't it?). I haven't heard the KC offer as of yet.
  11. Hell we all thought Vizquel was in the bag and he got swept away from right under our noses. Everything I have heard says both the Jays and the Royals are going to make aggressive offers. That source of mine in Minny is very reliable. I'm not saying Kosike will sign with either of those teams, but aggressive offers are on the way, I can promise you that. Remember, this is only Nov 18th. I too would sit on a few offers this early in the off-season.
  12. This is not a video game. That gets so damn annoying.
  13. Koskie will recieve offers from both Toronto and Kansas City. I would guess one of those two would offer a thrid year, most likely KC. I anticipate Toronto will overpay on this one. IIRC, they want to move Eric Hinskie to the other side of the infield.
  14. The Sox very well might. Kenny should at least test the waters.
  15. You have over-valued PK tremendously. Besides, I think the O's will add their 1B via free agency. They are also in love with Brian Roberts.
  16. My Minny contact has told me that the Blue Jays have been very aggressive in the Koskie talks and that he was listening. I think Kosike would be a decent FA pickup, but that dough can be used elsewhere; its just that simple. This organization still has a thing for Joe "Wonderboy" Crede and I think he is going to have another shot at it this year. Sorry fellas, just don't see it happening. It's not that great of a move for us at this point in time. Priorites 1. Kendall 2. Paulie Trade (Brings in our coveted SP) 3. Bullpen Arm 4. Platoon-type player for the IF/OF
  17. ...and for that, we will have taken a significant amount of steps in the wrong direction. :banghead The battle lines have been drawn on Harris. Time will tell. I think this his last shot.
  18. What? Why? You obviously have never been to Detroit.
  19. Uribe is ready. Harris is not. For the Willie supporters: what the hell has this chump done to merit a starting role next year? Defense? Its his range isn't it? C'mon.
  20. That is unfair and frankly I'm suprised that you, the king of stats, would not be able to recoginize this kid's ability. To call Garland an up and coming star would be a strech...not Bonderman. The best baseball minds in the league have gawked at this kid's ability and they think he will be an ace in the not too distant future. He is not an all-star by any strech of the imagination, but yes, he is an up and coming one.
  21. They will sign either Clement or DLowe...that will not solve the problem, but it is a start.
  22. Thank you for your words of wisdom. Riveting. Really.
  23. Actually...I think this signing tells us something. Urbina is probably going to miss an extended period of time due to the situation at home. Personally, I don't believe the tigers would have made such a big-time signing if they felt he would be in Detroit from the beginning to the end of the season. Hell, even if Urbina misses half of the season, when he comes back, that could make the best set-up/closer combo in the AL, let alone the bigs.
