  1. Atta' boy...someone gets it. It's not quantum physics.
  2. How? It makes perfect sense. In fact, you can only underachieve if you ARE overrated. If you were not rated so highly, you would not be considered an underachiever...you would have met your expectations: not surpassed them, and not failed to meet them.
  3. Please...as a favor to your fellow Sox fans...do not say we are cursed, to any extent.
  4. The jury is still out on Gload and Davis. But, yeah...that's the general idea. You all know my stance on Willie
  5. We all know Kenny's stance on grinders...he loves them. Kenny wants to build a team around grinders, the type of player that will do whatever necessary to get the runner over, field balls consistently, see more pitches, etc. Herein lies the problem, this current roster is seemingly grinder-free. I, too, feel that a group of grinders is the best way to go, but I don't think Kenny has assembled that type of team just yet. Here are my White Sox Grinders Aaron Rowand-This guy has epitomized the role of the grinder. He went above and beyond the call of duty this year. He played all over the outfield, moved positions in the lineup, and did nothing but produced all the while. If we had a team of Aarons, we would be in good shape. I have no reason to believe Aaron isn't capable of producing at the same level next year. Mark Buehrle-The most consistent Sox pitcher in the past 5 years. Year-in and year-out Mark brings it. He eats innings, turns in good outing after good outing and is a great presence in the clubhouse. That's It!!! Those are the only guys that I can think of that fulfill the "Grinder" criteria. Now, to define "hogie." A "hogie," for the sake of argument, is a one-trick pony, a one dimension player. However, this doesn't mean a team shouldn't have a few one-trick ponies. I think a team needs a defined HR guy, an OBP guy, etc. but we had WAY too many. Valentin- Mustache/K Hogie Paulie- HR Hogie (although he was greatly improved this year) Garland- "Just Hasn't Lived Up To His Potential" Hogie Crede- "I Can Pull the Ball" Hogie Borchard- Light Tower Power Hogie Am I way off base here or could we be on to something? I think Kenny has his work cut out for him.
  6. Those two states are Maine and Nebraska. Colorado is also putting that up for a vote this Tuesday Disadvantages of Electoral College -Winner of the popular vote doesn't necessarily win the election -Candidates won't visit all states on campaign trail -Sometimes an elector will go against the state's wishes -College isn't reflective of state's wishes all the time Advantages of Electoral College -Small states get fair representation -In most cases, there will be a clear-cut winner -President has more public support -Some independent thought by Electors isn't all bad; prevents the public from electing an incompitent boob.
  7. If Randy suits up for the White Sox next spring..I'll eat my hat. You guys can hold me to it. However, if KW were to offer Lee AND Garland for RJ, how could they refuse. They are getting a proven outfielder and a young arm with *potential*. Now, don't get me wrong...I think Garland has nothing between the ears and he has reached his apex, but the kid is young and relatively inexpensive. He's a solid number 5, a reach at a solid number 4 starter; that is all he is...that is all he will ever be.
  8. Ozzie...Cora...Raines...this is just awesome. I love having the old Sox back. *Wink* *Wink* Now, bring back Pudge and Ventura and call it a day. Hell, bring Pasqua back too!
  9. Good info! I was wondering why Mexico as well.
  10. Ding Ding Ding!!! Far and away the most realistic roster I've seen on this board. I think this is exactly what we should expect our roster to look like. Disclaimer: Don't get your hopes up on Danny Kolb. Brewers GM Doug Melivn is going to do whatever it takes to make him a Brewer for a long, long time. I wouldn't expect him to be going anywhere.
  11. All this talk about CLee getting moved is depressing. He has been our most consitent Sox year-in and year-out. I thinking moving him is a big mistake, but I'm starting to get the feeling that CLee will be moved instead of PK. CLee and Garland is too much for Johnson. I'd trade Garland for a bag of baseballs...but moving CLee for a rent-a-player is a bad decision. Would this trade have been too much 4 year ago? No.
  12. Sidenote: Does anyone else think we have the best jerseys in football? Maybe, I'm biased, but I swear we do.
  13. Atta' boy Edinger! You can't kick the ball in the endzone, but you drill a 52 yd. field goal!
  14. And he majored in molecular genetics! I don't think half the guys in the league can spell that.
  15. Did the rookie just get that ball to Thomas, this is awesome! Choo-Choo!
  16. Back to back three-and-outs??? Impressive. Its also nice to watch Arnaz play again.
  17. Krenzel!!!! Atta' Boy! God Damn I love Bears football, win or lose! See Mr. Quinn...we call that a pass in the NFL.
  18. This has the potential to be the ugliest game of the year. Horrible football will be played by both teams. Ugh'...so depressing.
  19. What...is that picture like 2 hours old now? Go Steelers!!!
  20. This guy is a legitmate stud. Rothlisberger's proving why he should have been the first QB taken in the draft. It looks good for the Steelers, but it ain't over till' its over. Not with Belichick.
  21. Alou- He'll be playing for daddy in San Fran. Radke- I don't know where everyone on this board gets the idea that the Sox can sign this guy. The Twins are making him the number one priority in the off-season. If he isn't with the Twins, someone came in and gave him an offer he couldn't refuse. "The Pioneer Press reported that although the Twins would like to keep all five free agents -- pitchers Brad Radke and Terry Mulholland, catcher Henry Blanco, shortstop Cristian Guzman and third baseman Corey Koskie -- Radke is considered the keystone of the Twins' winter plans. All five free agent have indicated they would welcome a chance to return." http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/story/MLB_SC-RUMOR He's not going anywhere.
