A Scary Thought
Good thoughts JH. I know its a little negative...I think I'm just feeling the post-season sting right now. I'm just sensing a long road ahead of us. I PRAY that I'm wrong.

I just realized something watch the Red Sox win
Ah yes...and here comes the morning-after outrage like the Salmon of Capastrano. I too feel your pain. I almost feel hosed after rooting for this team my entire life. I just posted my thoughts in the "A Scary Thought" thread.

A Scary Thought
Watching the World Series, and I suppose the playoffs as a whole, did anyone else think that if the White Sox were ever to make the playoffs with this current manager and current roster we would be laughed out in the first round? I'm starting to think so...and it is such a bummer. These playoff contenders all have a few things in common 1) Chemistry. Say what you will, but team chimistry plays a large role in a team's success. I know there have been teams that absoultely despised eachother that went on to greatness (IIRC, the Vikings and A's of old), but for the most part, its the teams that would take a bullet for eachother that win championships. Watching Schilling, I could not help but get the feeling that he meant everything he said. He truly believed that without the STRONG team chemistry that the Red Sox had, they would never have been able to accomplish what they did. Guys like Wakefield, Varitek, and Schilling, as well as guys like Pedro, Manny, and Ortiz are crucial in developing a team's personality. 2) Money. Ouch. I'm not going to go on and on about this...but look at the playoff teams. Spending money on pitching PAYS OFF. 3) Manager. I really, really think that if the Sox were to have won the division, Ozzie would have gotten out-managed in the ALDS. He's WAY too inexpierenced and I think that would come back to bite us in the ass. Guys like Torre, LaRussa, hell, even Garner are able to set the table and rally their guys. Could you see Ozzie out-manage Torre? Holding up a World Series Trophy? Wrapping his arm around a Series MVP? Try as I might...I don't think I can. So, where do we go? What do the Sox need to do to get there? I wish I knew the answer. I just have a BAD feeling about this current roster and I think unless some serious personel changes are made, we are still years away from a Pennant. Maybe a guy like Johnson can come in and rejuvinate the Sox like Beltran did for the Astros. Maybe the front office will finally decide to spend more money. Hell, maybe our fans will come out to supprot their troops I'm actually pretty down on the future of the Sox...I think we will be able to field a team capable of winning the mighty AL Central, but anything after that seems like a long shot.

Great KW Quote on Mags
It looks like KW has turned the page. I think everyone is a little stunned about Mags' rapid 180. I have no reason to think the front office mistreated Mags. The dynamic of the game now-a-days doesn't have players remaining in one city for their entire career...still though, it's Oo-Ee-Oo we are talking about here...I thought he was one of the good guys. Hopefully the squinting, money-hungry, disloyal...ugh' :rolly You'll get your shot somewhere else Mags, so long.

Great KW Quote on Mags
"Taking him for granted? We're the ones that gave him a deal that paid him $14 million this year. We're the ones that offered to help him out of Florida when the hurricanes were hitting a few weeks ago. It's better that I don't say much more. This is one of those times where I'll just have to take it in the gut." -- GM Ken Williams on the news that OF Magglio Ordonez said back in June he felt the organization was taking him for granted. http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/teams/report/CHW/7814140 Ok Mags hopefuls...time to call it quits. If the Boras thing didn't nail it down, this did.

Detroit Tigers Farm System
I was going to ask the same type of question...but with the Brewers. Are the Brewers one of the most sound minor-leauge clubs in the league? I know Prince Fielder and Rickie Weeks are supposed to be incredible. Is the Farnsworth with their AAA affiliate realted to Kyle? Thanks.

My Game Three WS Tickets
One word can sum up that sporting experience...incredible. Now, I consider myself lucky to have been to as many great sporting events as I have. -Last game at the "Real" Solider Field -All-star game at USCF -Homerun Derby at USCF -Notre Dame v. BC (Tyrone's magical season) All-star game Miller Park But nothing can match the excitement I felt in the stands last night. The energy was amazing, the place was electrified. My first visit to Busch -That stadium is awesome: a sea of red. Clean, roomy concourses. Good food (nowhere near a polish at Comisky ). Excellent seating. An overall top-notch baseball atmosphere. Although St. Louis does not NEED a new stadium, I'm sure the Busch of 2006 will also be fantastic. The fans -Going in I have always held BoSox fans and Cardinal fans in high regard; after having visited Busch, my stance has not changed. The Cardinal fans are VERY knowledgeable baseball people. No cell-phone yanking, rooftop watching chumps here. The Boston fans were also very respectable. Very knowledgeable and die-hard. No one can question the heart of both the Boston and St. Louis fans...they live and die with their respective ball clubs. The game -Masterful performance by Pedro. He started off a little shaky, clearly not having the command and velocity he was hoping for; but as the game went on, he seemed to get stronger and stronger...his confidence was clearly through the roof. Manny's shot was a bomb. Larry's got out in a hurry. The Suppan blunder was enormous. I thought the guys behind me were going to s*** themselves. He could have crawled home, but instead got caught and had nowhere to go...I know I know, you guys have all seen it. Suppan never recovered, I think his confidence was shattered and he wasn't able to settle in afterwards. What a great time, if anyone ever has a chance to go to the WS PLEASE DO SO. It’s worth missing your next class Wednesday morning. Anyone that has been to Busch knows what I'm talking about.

Farve can't catch a break.
Brett Favre is my favorite player of all time(believe it or not I have his jersey on right now). We should consider ourselves lucky to have been able to watch him during his prime. I love that guy and everything he has done for football. Tough break, my prayers are with you my man.

Kevin Millar
Millar is kind of a clubhouse guy. Put up some good numbers in 03'... 25HR 96 RBI .276 AVG But...I dunno. Maybe something to consider if Paulie is moved, but I'm not too excited about him. Meh
