For Anyone Who Though We Could Sign Benitez...

Yeah, Yeah...so sue me. EDIT: Rather than edit nearly every post...I tend to catch my grammatical errors later. I wanted to see if I could get away with that one. Guess not. -
That's some top-notch work BB. Good show.

Zero...you have yet again scared the crap out of me with your avatar. Congrats.

Illinois football coach
AddisonStSox replied to Gene Honda Civic's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I want Bill Parcells. But, I anticipate our new coach to be Texas Tech's Mike Leach. Edit: AND yes, the Parcells comment was indeed sarcasim. -
Guys, at the risk of being labeled a complainer... This chump has got to go. This is a Sox message board, not a place to stir up trouble. Talk baseball or get the f*** out; its just like, get a life. This is yet ANOTHER ruined thread, when this should be some awesome off-season rumor chatter.
-
My thoughts... Another question mark in the rotation...kinda spookes me. I was hoping this would be the off-season these types of signing cease. This reeks of White Sox doesn't it? I'm not going to go on a rant like some posters here about the Sox incapicity to spend money, but, this has "typical Sox signing" written all over it. On the plus side of things, it looks like the fifth starter question could be answered, leaving Kenny some time to address other needs. Let's hope this is the WRIGHT ( ) move. I wonder if Kenny is as close to getting this one done as he was Omar.

Wait a minute, Wait a minute... So ... You're telling me ... Your plan for the 2005 Sox starts with... Moves we didn't make in 2004? Wow. This guy continues to amaze me.

Holy smokes. Although I never thought, even for a second, we would get Benitez(for better or for worse), but the Giants? Wow. This team is making some big time aquisitions and screwing up the off-season plans for more than a few teams. I hope they are balling in Wrigleyville. :fthecubs -
Not a chance in hell. I'm a Irish fan...but not a chance in hell. That school's football program is on the fast track to becoming the next "Nebraska" (and I'm also a huge Husker fan). With recruiting down as far as it is and the Notre Dame brass' refusal to lower academic standards (whether that is a good thing or a bad thing is entirely up to you) a long, losing road is up ahead. Bradey Quinn or not.

He can crash in my room for a night during the interview process if need be. Tyrone Willingham would be the best thing to ever happen to Illinois football. Now, will they sign him? Absolutely not. He will not even be in the running. It has become painfully clear that Illinois is transforming itself into a basketball school, they will never, and I repeat, ever put that kind of money into the football program.I have met Tyrone on a number of different occasions and let me tell you, this is one of the kindest and most intelligent coaches to have ever stepped foot on the sideline. For as great of a coach as he is, he is an even better human. This is really a damn shame. I hope he is able to bounce back and show the Irish how big of a mistake they really did make. This is not Bob Davie we are talking about, it was Ty Willingham. If anyone has any questions about him just ask.
-
Ok...I know, I know, I have to :begood But, Anthrax...how long have you been a baseball fan. I'm talking like: have you followed the Sox since the Bob Lemon era, or the Jerry Manuel era? It's been killing me.

I just keyed his car. He won't come here.

Meyer is one of the most talked about coaches in the NCAA. Yes, people seriously did know who he was. As for the Irish: I think they dropped the ball with this one. We know you're the most competitive and storied schools in the NCAA, but never before has a coach been fired without good cause at that school. I was expecting at least one more year with Tyrone. Even if he wasn't putting w's in the books, Tyrone was great for that school. Everyone knowns recruiting is down in South Bend, but they just took 5 steps backwards. A long and losing road is up ahead for the Irish.

Thanks...I suppose.

My sentiments exactly.

Hopefully Kenny wouldn't overpay HALF as much for Vazquez as that offer for Randy. I know, I know...its Randy Johnson, but Paulie, s***head and Anderson is unbelievable, making it painfully clear that Randy said no. I have no proof...but raises an eyebrow doesn't it? Anyone else not big on Vazquez? Dude was not consistent in the AL. Yes, he has great stuff, but still a question mark in my opinion and the last thing the Sox need in the rotation is yet another question mark. Let me check his numbers, maybe it wasn't as bad as I thought it was.

Believe it or not, the technology necessary to produce a black paint that does not get increasingly hotter does exist. In fact, I think it was being pondered by the front office at some point in time.

Congrats to my favorite football player of all time. Growing up as a quarterback, I idolized this guy. Whether you hate the Packers or love them, as a football fans, we are blessed to have been able to see this guy play the game. He's a dying breed. An amazing football player and an even better human. Damn, I'll miss him when he hangs his first-ballot cleats up.

I dunno Jason. I think its well out of Kenny's hands. It's been confirmed (if you can consider Gammons as a credible source) that Kenny offered a deal surrounding Paulie, Garland, AND Brian Anderson. If Arizona doesn't pull the trigger on this one, they will never get one done with us. As far as Scho, I wouldn't mind him back as the fifth starter, if and only if, we make some SIGNIFICANT improvements in some other areas.
