What the HELL is the holdup with signing FA's?
Relax partner. The majority of the teams in baseball haven't done a damn thing. Right now things are par for the course. Enjoy some football.

Will Sox Sign Edgar Renteria?
Beck, although you and I have been thinking along the same lines, I invison another route Kenny may go. Sign two free agents in the off-season. One at shortstop: Renteria, Nomar, and the other at SP: Jaret Wright, Valdez. So...after those two aquisitons we have two pressing needs taken care of. Now, after those two are signed, I could see Kenny then trading Paulie to take care of our bullpen needs and possibly our leadoff/utlity guy need. I'm not going to try to create one of those X-box lineups; A lot of posters here have these long elaborite plans that are conditional to a couple essential moves. Mine is a little different. C- Davis/Burke (Sorry fellas) 1B- Gload 2B- Uribe SS- Renteria or Nomar (In that order) 3B- Crede LF- Lee CF- Rowand/utlity leadoff guy via Paulie trade RF- Jurassic/Rowand/Escobar Rotation 1. Buehrle 2. Garcia 3. Wright 4. Contreras 5. Garland Bullpen 1. Shingo 2. New, big-name aquisition via Paulie trade 3. Marte 4. Cotts 5. Adkins 6. Possibly a lower level free agent What do you think. That is as close to my ideal, yet realistic plan as its going to get. I'm really, really interested to see what you guys have to say about that. That's the first time I attempted one of these mock off-seasons. Please let me know what ya think.

My thoughts... Edgar Renteria would be a great pickup guys...if JR is willing to spend on this one, please let him do so. Nomar would also be a fantastic signing...probably a better fit for the Sox. Cabrera just isn't good fit. Sorry Anthrax. Wright would be a great, scratch that, a GOOD pick up. He'd fill in our rotation nicely. Vazquez would be a horrible move. Yes, the guy looks dynamite at times, but he'd get lit up like a Christmas tree at Comisky. Oh yeah, and he's got a nasty contract. All in all, I'm really happy with those thoughts. A Renteria, Wright, "top notch" reliever would be a fantastic off-season. I expect the Sox to sign the free agent shortstop and starter, and ship Paulie for that top-notch reliever and maybe a little more in return. It's all about to happen fellas, hang in there.

Sox FA Possibilites By Position
Never said he was. Kenny has shown interest. I was just trying to think of a few free agents Kenny might consider bringing in. Should I have mentioned Jeff Kent?

Sox FA Possibilites By Position
Get out! Actually, come to think of it, who hasn't been thinking that. I was just suprised to see it come out of Anthrax.

Joe Borchard
I agree Steff...they do need to move on. I just don't think that moving on will happen this ST. I'm just wondering if a lot of you think he "shouldn't" be on the roster, or he "won't" be on the roster...cause those are two very different things.

Sox FA Possibilites By Position
Anthrax, I never, EVER, thought I would say this. But I couldn't agree with you more.

Joe Borchard
I'm genuinely suprised at how many of you think the Sox are fed up with Mighty Joe. They paid this kid a lot of dough. Now, SHOULD Joe be on the team? Probably not. Will he? Probably.

Koskie???
I've been hearing whispers about Randa to Tampa though.
-
Koskie???
The one decent baseball source I have in the country is in Minnesota. He says that although the Twinks have backed off, Toronto and Seattle are just as aggressive as ever. Although I like Koskie as a player and value what he brings to the table, I think Kenny should stay away from him for two reasons. 1. He'd have to overpay (these offers aren't going away from the other clubs) 2. The organization still seems big on Crede. I think this is his last shot, kind of thing. Just my opinion.

Holy crap, did anyone see ESPN News?

Hudson pushing himself onto the trade block?
I'm staying away from all the baseball rumors I hear from south Florida this week. I've already had my heart broken once.

Point taken. I'm done. Sorry Jas.

Holy crap, did anyone see ESPN News?
My point exactly. A lot of the heavys post over at WSI. So, rather than come to this site, a site you know is frequented by teenagers and a "younger" group in general (since you are putting so much emphasis on age) and talk down to posters, why don't you post there and try to compete with some of your contemporaries. It's like high-school football coach syndrome. The high school coach is nothing in the real world and rather intimidated by his peers, yet loves to coach in high school where he can belittle pimply faced fourteen year olds and feel good about himself. So, before talking down to the younger folks here, try and compete at WSI and see how far your vast baseball knownledge takes you. Sorry, this was just a long time coming.
