The best thing about this thread has to be the fact that two minutes after it was posted Kenny just finished a first-class signing in the pen. Wait a minute...so, people get signed around December 8th? I could have swore we should have made at least 9 moves by now. Shove it.

Plus he has done to the work to learn how to field his position. When they first put him out there I thought we were going to have major problems. Since then, he has worked hard and looked very impressive at times. IIRC, there was some gold glove chatter about him last year.

Plus, one look at him and you know he could bust some skulls in a bench-clearer. So, he could always work security if things don't work out. I'm thinking Gload is going to be the man at first going into ST.

Yikes. A Hermanson/Dye off-season thus far...not off to the roaring start I was hoping for. Kenny loves those diamond in the rough guys. I don't think I have ever seen Dye step into the batter's box...ever...I haven't seen one of his at-bats. Looks like he had one big year and then some average years, and I am aware that he is injury-prone. Ugh'. Hopefully Kenny knows more than we do on this one. Maybe he snags him at a great price for one year (maybe a second year option) as a stopgap until Anderson is ready. Hot stove is warming up.

Finley will not be leaving the West coast. You guys are barking up the wrong tree on this one. He refused a trade last year at the deadline to anywhere but the West coast. His family lives in San Deigo and he wants to stay close to home.

I'm sensing a bit of the Troll. First off, Pitt is in-love with Perez. They are ga-ga over this kid. They think he is the cornerstone for their rotation for years to come. Second, I really do not anticipate a Ben Sheets sweepstakes. Doug Melivn has a plan for that club and Sheets is a major part of it. Great post Jim. I have to agree with everything you said. This dates back to last season's re-aquisiton of Jurassic as well. I think wanted to snag Jurassic knowning full well that he had a team option for 05'. Now, Kenny knows he has at least a "serviceable" right fielder untill Anderson is ready to make the jump. Let's see if he goes after Dye/Hidalgo, or stands pat with Jurassic/Escobar. Should be interesting.
