I'd go Reitsma over Foster. Even if he doesn't get the job he gets wins and a few saves. How about Ryan Wagner as an option. He could overtake Graves for the closers job at some point and his era is below one with a ton of K's. His slider is better than Brad Lidge's.
I'd ride it out with Bags. That's what I'm doing. He was struggling a lot last eyar but came on and ut up respectable power numbers. I feel he'll do the same as it gets warmer and Berkman returns to provide protection.
We were little b****es this week. When I say that I refere to not properly retaliating for getting hit so much. I know they were tight games and you have to put a runner on in a tied or one run game but I feel that we didn't take care of business. It reminded me of that series last year where the Flubs hit the Buccos like 11 times before Pitt finally fired back. There was a lot of talk about how the new White Sox had plenty of guys who would protect our players but that has been hot air thus far. I know there is another series with them to even it up but I think the White Sox looked weak as far as toughness goes this week.
I have to be honest, watching Eckstein play everyday now-his arm is better than advertised. It's not great or anything but his defense is much better than has been suggested. I always hated him for some reason but he's a better player in every phase of the game than I'd given him credit for.
Row, I was wondering the same thing myself. It's sort of a shady thing even though it's very accepted. Maybe they just don't do that. I have no problem with seeing Willie at SS for a few games if the alternative is Jermaine Dye
Who is a great major league pitcher they have traded away. I know about Joe Carter, Raffy, and Brock but I can't think of a pitcher they traded away. I hope you aren't referring to Jon Garland as the only "great" example.
they're all teases man. Anyways, since I have nothing productive to add I'd like to mention that I think David Dejesus has the greatest nickname that Chris Berman can't say on tv "nobody f***s with De-jesus"
Abreu is an elite player even if you have never seen ANYONE wear an Abreu jersey in your life. I think that Philly wouldn't trade him pretty much for anyone except maybe Pujols. As far as Polanco goes, the price of the trade is just too high. The Cubs are interested now and they will help bid up the price to be unreasonable. That price is someone like B-Mac and more. We'll have to make do elsewhere
In a way this loss isn't that bad for the future because we had so many shortcomings last night that today we can make the umps the complete scapegoats. That might actually help the club move on and get over this series. At least until we see members of that crew again.
