So, what does knowing or not knowing the minor league system have to do w/ purchasing tickets to the Sox this year again? I'd like to make time to go visit the Sox just for the memories of growing up and love of the game -- whether they were 10-100 or 100-10. Chicago is too far away to even think about season tickets, but maybe if JR needs a fly-by on a special occasion I can come on up for a game or two.

Carl Pavano is on his "9 day tour", with a stop in Detroit on Friday, to visit parks and visit with management, one of '6 American League cities.' Does anyone know if Chicago is one of these? Also, Cleveland is on the hot pursuit of Clement. Have the Sox even winked at Clement? The Nationals are speaking heavily with Russ Ortiz, Odalis Perez, Jaret Wright and Paul Wilson. Are the Sox completely under the radar this offseason or completely out of their league?

The Yankees and Phillies are beginning talks again for a deal that was discussed just before the trade deadline. It is a Kenny Lofton for Marlon Byrd swap. So you're saying, who cares? If this trade goes down, Lofton will be moved to free up the 'cluttered' CF position in NY, with Byrd most likely moving on in a package to the D-Backs for RJ. This one trade is most likely the beginning movement for the Yankees that puts RJ in their rotation and Beltran in CF.

The Cardinals already have offered Renteria 4 year / $22.0M deal. At only $5.5M a season, don't you think the Sox should sweep in with some 4 year / $24.0 type deal? Any show of hands here that wouldn't like Renteria at the top of our order and manning SS through 2008 for the Sox, for only $6.0M a year?
