about brandon mcarthy
Yes, Buehrle has been successful -- but do you see the dominance that McCarthy exhibits? Buehrle is very solid, don't get be wrong, but he gives up a lot more hits than IP and doesn't have the strikeout numbers that McCarthy does. I guess the question can be turned into this: We know McCarthy is progressing nicely thus far. What is it that made him dominant in '04?

Good News
QUOTE(lvjeremylv @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) Teams/Owners couldn't care less about their players taking steroids. If they did, MLB would have a real steroid policy instead of the slap-in-the-face-of-a-joke one they have now. According to his website, AJ had quite an amazing 2003 season, what with his 111 HRs and 74 RBIs. That's one for the record books......

*Official* Clement to Boston
Then he would be grossly overpayed at $9+M a year. If he wants to slink down to a #2 or #3 pitcher in a rotation where he doesn't have to worry about pitching "with so much pressure", then he should be worth no more than $6-7M a year. EDIT: Use the extra $3M to buy him a set of balls.

Randy Johnson Trade Rumors
Then again, I work for the government and not for a baseball franchise. *shrugs*

Randy Johnson Trade Rumors
At least now the focus can be solely directed towards Clement, Perez and perhaps AJ.

Randy Johnson Trade Rumors
He gets his attention because he is (was) the Yankee's only prospect that is developed to the point of almost being ready for the show. As for being over-hyped, no.

WSCR report regarding RJ
The Sox are now rumored to be out of ... the rumor for RJ? Tomorrow's rumor will be a rumor about the rumor that the original rumor is rumored to be slightly more than a rumor. Yeah, follow *that* s***!

New Randy to Chicago talk
If I remember correctly, the Sox still have the option to buy Thomas out if he invokes his player option but the Sox do not want him back.

New Randy to Chicago talk
Good. AZ's asking price of Garland, Rowand, Marte, Anderson and the Sears Tower is just ri.goddamn.diculous.
