  1. So this would involve a 3-way calusion (spelling?) Between the Sox, Carl, and Montreal? Doesn't make sense to me.
  2. In response to both of those posts, we wouldn't have had to offer him arbitration to sign him, we could have just worked out a deal. Also, yes, he was signed by the Expos, but in a couple of threads it is mentioned us acquiring him in a trade. I would love to have him back, but I don't understand why, if they want him this much, did they just not sign him as a free agent.
  3. There are talks of us acquiring Carl Everett in a trade. If they wanted him this much, wouldn't a deal have been worked out? Also, couldn't we have given him 2 years for 7 million? Damn, that kinda pisses me off.
  4. He isn't available to us until May 1st. Oh well.
  5. Man, we better start signing players, or we'll be known as the Chicago/Charlotte White Sox.
  6. Not that this is important, but I thought I'd point out that the guy's name is Joel Sherman. I know that because that is also my name.
  7. Did anyone notice that in the description of the game, when talking about the scenario mode, it mentioned "Mike Cameron's five homerun game"? Silliness.
  8. That's a good point. Didn't it also say that Foulke is likely to return to Oakland? I give this article zero credibility.
  9. Yes. Their championship year of 76-77 (or 77-78, I always get seasons confused because of the double year thing) until they moved to the Rose Garden in 94-95.
  10. Vinny Castilla went back to the Rockies, so Cirillo won't be going back. Hey, those two might platoon between third and DH, though.
  11. I don't trust it too closely. I think someone in the business would mention/know about it before a Indians fan site.
  12. He did homer that game... I didn't remember that. And Frank's first wasn't as clutch as I thought. Their HR's came in the 3rd and 4th innings, respectively. The biggest hit I remember Daubach having In Tampa Bay (I think the very next night) where he gave us some nice 9th inning insurance with a bomb, but it wasn't enough, because Koch proceeded to allow a Carl Crawford 3-run Jimmy-Jack.
  13. I just looked it up, and the Blazers sold out their last 809 games at the Memorial Colisseum! That's impressive. I do know that they had a streak of just over 100 at one point for the Rose Garden that ended two years ago.
  14. I hate to tell you this, but Frank hit that homerun, too.
  15. By the way, Fullmer's deal was 1 year, 1 million. Could we not have done that?!?
  16. Not that I wanted him that much anyways.... just thought I'd point that out. Also, Vinny Castilla returns to the Rockies. I wonder if he can be his old self again.
  17. http://www.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/stats/ml...playerID=120191 Power numbers are down? 38 Hr's and 112 RBI's from the left side don't look too bad to me. BA was his only problem.
  18. That would be really sweet. A story on MLB.com right now says he is interested in the Angels. If they can sign him, they'll be a tough team to beat next year.
  19. I was hoping that Brad Fullmer would be this guy, but he signed with Texas today.
  20. I used to have a "second favorite". For those who do have a "second favorite", do you genuinely love/care if they went all the way? Would you be euphoric, like we would be if the Sox took it all? I thought about that, and realized that I can't care about anyone else.
  21. I don't see this happening... What is the salary of Anderson. I think Alou is around 6 mill.
  22. Suppan? When will they make a big splash? I expect more than a bunch of average ballplayers this winter. While Suppan is not bad, he shouldn't be higher than a number 5.
  23. Also, did anyone realize just how good a year Matt Stairs had last season. .292 and 20 bombs. Wow.
