Why do this deal? Both teams are in need of pitching in the worst way..

I can see them in 2-3 years being in the hunt for the playoffs, which is good to see in baseball, that the tides are changing. Now if only the Pirates would learn from their mistakes and not be the AAAA team of the Cubs! IMO they have the best young INF in the game with Weeks, Hardy, and Feilder, 3b well I guess they can work on that. They should try and aquire Marte from Atlanta, not like they are going to use him anytime soon. But I am sure ATL would ass rape them.

Well Josh Barfield has to play sometime.. Maybe they think he is ready now? The Pads are an Old team they need to have their farm system start producing something. He hit .315/.370/15/72.. I think the kid is ready!

Who cares they need to get some young good talent in there, trading for Benson is not a wise move.. Keep who you have and sign White to play the OF.

I agree with most of this.. Exepct that KW was also High on Bochard, and would not give him up.. ANd now we see what we got out of him.. I want to see what anderson can do, I have stated since when I started being a middle market team we need a farm system that produces home grown talent we can use. I have a feeling Anderson is going to do fairly well, not great and not "Ortonlike" The good thing is that we can see if anderson does well.. If not KW will correct that mistake by end of June.

Several things come to mind.. 1. He is locked up for the next 3-4 years..With Jose a FA next year. We would at least know that we have 4 pitchers for 07 barring injuries. 2. Was last year a fluke for Garland, or did he turn the corner? I want to beilve that he turned the Corner..But, I still have about 25% doubt. Becuase my boss came in I forgot the others.

A note about LoDuca..He is a first half player, who declines after some time. Marlins are doing this becuase of the lack of fan support, they realize that this is not the year, and with the weak FA market they can rob teams of their prospects. I think its a great move, Willis and Cabrea are young enough to where they can build around and stil compete in 2 years.
