  1. Ab injurys dont heal fast, this could bother him all year!
  2. Meanwhile Danks threw 3 innings today and only gave up 2 hits. 1.50 era now
  3. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Mar 4, 2007 -> 11:36 AM) I havent gotten to hear or see any of the Sox games yet, how was Haegers Knuckler, I thought I heard or read it wasnt on so far? That also could be because of that AZ dry air.
  4. I like the fact that Haeger didnt walk anyone.
  5. Just an FYI, the Rockies game was on their network yesterday.
  6. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 08:26 AM) Agree with SS2K. A team like Pittsburgh has a new stadium as well. Cuban will want more luxury suites. Also, he belives in giving his players the best luxuries, something you can't do playing in Wrigley. I believe he is from Pittsburgh also.
  7. I caught a little of it. He said he was happy he signed with the Sox. Said that this is a tight knit group, everyone is friends. No one takes a day off, there are guy there early and late. Loved Ozzie's speech!
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 07:36 PM) Extremely glad he came to camp in shape. Me too! Jenks and now Uribe. Seems like the coaching staff got thru to them over the winter.
  9. If KW does not sign him, he win not be able to spin it like its JD's fault. The ball is now in KW court, lets hope he doesnt screw it up!!
  10. I have to say that Pods looked in great shape yesterday, when I saw him on Channel 5.
  11. Astros signed LHP Kelly Wunsch to a minor league contract. Wunsch, who was born in Houston, must have really wanted to pitch close to home to take a deal without an invitation to spring training. If healthy, he'd be a better option for the Houston pen than Scott Sauerbeck, who just signed a minor league deal with a spring training invite. However, he hasn't been injury free since the first half of 2005.
  12. QUOTE(SEALgep @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 07:29 PM) Darin Erstad-OF-Angels Jan. 22 - 8:04 pm et The Marlins and White Sox are among the finalists for free agent Darin Erstad, who could pick his team this week. The Angels remain in the running, though they won't offer as much playing time as the competition. The Cubs, like the A's, appear to be out of it, as they perfer Cliff Floyd for their outfield mix. The Marlins would give Erstad a chance to be their regular center fielder if he's interested in playing in Florida. The White Sox, who nearly acquired Erstad for Jon Garland prior to the Angels' 2002 World Series run, would have him battle Brian Anderson and Ryan Sweeney this spring. I wouldn't mind Erstad at all, especially as a 4th outfielder and Anderson back up. I also would like him. I wonder what kind of money he is looking for.
  13. Tori Hunter taking out Jaime Burke at the plate.
  14. Juan Uribe said he may sit out the 2007 season after a judge ordered him to make twice-monthly court appearances in a Dominican Republic shooting case. Under Friday's order from the judge in the case, Uribe must appear in court in San Cristobal on the 15th and 30th day of every month until the case is resolved. This even though everyone has been led to believe there's no evidence tying him to the Oct. 13 shootings that left two men wounded. "I am going to decide if I am playing in the major leagues or not this year," Uribe said Friday. "It looks very ugly to be accused of something. But first I am going to resolve this and then I will go to the major leagues." If Uribe isn't going to play, the White Sox will probably go forward with Alex Cintron at shortstop and look for some veteran insurance.
  15. Did anyone hear Hawk on AM1000 this morning? He was talking about how other teams liked hitting off Bmac. He also stated that he never get his Curve called for a strike, even though it is one and he did'nt throw his change enough. Hawk was'nt rippin Bmac, but he brought up some good points.
  16. Heres a little more Oh, the tease. While I can’t give specifics on the deal, there are still at least six teams involved in some discussions centering on Atlanta. The Braves are in full dump mode, trying to get something for Andruw Jones, trying to find Jones’ replacement on the cheap, and working more on the bullpen. Leo Mazzone isn’t there to build a bullpen out of dreck anymore. So how does this all work together? Why trade a young player like Andy Adam LaRoche if they’re trying to control the payroll? Why deal Jones right now rather than at the deadline? The team is determined to find a solid bullpen and think they can do it with a series of deals that include LaRoche, Mike Gonzalez, Andruw Jones, and several CF candidates that I’m told include Rocco Baldelli, Curtis Granderson, and Nick Markakis. The deals appear to also have some other big names like Tim Hudson, Mark Teixeira, and Dontrelle Willis on the periphery. The three team deal that seemed close over the weekend doesn’t seem so close now as the complexity has increased. Remember that John Schuerholz is normally a slow worker, so quiet on this front doesn’t mean that nothing is happening. Hopefully this keeps everyone happy. It certainly gives a lot of teams something to talk about, think about, or just ignore. If the are looking for a CF that is cheap and we have one, and I know KW love Andrew Jones.
  17. Yes, full season and added the empty seat next to me.
  18. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 12, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) The people who care about hockey know about versus and what channel it is. I'm sure they would have made a better deal with a 'bigger' name network if it was possible. I'm assuming this was their best option, unless i'm shown documentation proving otherwise. NHL has been there for two years, if you don't know that, then you don't care about the sport at all, and putting it on ESPN wouldn't suddenly make anyone care that much more. One of the big problems with hockey is the fact that it's a complex game that not many people understand, or want to take the time to understand. Football, baseball, and basketball are all much easier games to understand. Oh, and the NFL has the gambling aspect driving the ratings up big time. That, and it doesn't translate to TV as well as other sports. Thats the problem though. You are missing the casual fan that would be channel surfing, and see the game and watch it. You are not getting that with Verses.
