My advice would depend on what your goals are as far as playing. But three things that I would suggest no matter what are 1) get a tuner or learn to tune by ear 2) try to play at least 30 minutes a day and 3) make sure your guitar is set up properly, because if it uncomfortable to play it, you will be less likely to pick it up. Finger soreness is normal and unavoidable at the beginning, but if the action is too high, it will not be enjoyable to play.

Albert Pujols' extension - Cards fail to extend by deadline

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 17, 2011 -> 05:33 PM) Ha, I know it sounds absurd. Obviously he's not holding back, but he really does look to be in the best shape of his career. So ya, I guess I am talking about some sort of historic season here. Why do you say that? -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 11:40 PM) I spent like 5 minutes looking for it earlier. Didn't realize it went away. Now the pet peeve thread is the workout forum. But hey, we have the referral/deal thread!

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 08:28 PM) We utilize the TRX system at my gym in some of our workouts. Any opinion? I have the opportunity to pick up a new one with book and video for $100.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) This is generally true, although with most fresh meats, I will only let it go for a week unthawed before I toss it. I heard that the best test for that is to actually give some to a cat and if the cat doesn't eat it, it's long past gone. Cats are apparently capable of smelling rotting bacteria. I have definitely eaten eggs that were like a month and a half past the sell-by date (which I know isn't an expiration, but you only have like 2 weeks after that to eat them, or so they say), and I was just fine. With food, it's all a matter of knowing what to look for with regards to expired food. A cookbook I have says to put an egg in water, if it floats its either good or bad, I can't remember which.

Albert Pujols' extension - Cards fail to extend by deadline
Leonard Zelig replied to chisoxfan09's topic in The Diamond Club
Last year Pujols was saying that the most important thing to him was playing for a contending team. I think the Cardinals basically bid against themselves to keep Holliday to show him they were serious about contending. Now it seems he wants to be the highest paid player and they may not be able to afford him. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 09:22 PM) Cards reportedly offer Albert 8 years, $240 million via Heyman. New offer or is that what he turned down? -

Sox to go with four man rotation to start the season?
Leonard Zelig replied to TheChrisSamsa's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I wonder if some people even read this article, because the quote was, "I look at the roster and the games earlier in the season and how we're going to play it, I look at the fifth starter," Guillen said. "We're going to use the fifth starter maybe one or two outings because of the day off and we can bump people, move people in the rotation." It appears they intend to keep everybody on normal rest. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 11:27 AM) Why is it Pujols's fault that the Cardinals want him to take a discount? If he's worth that much to that franchise, if he's so important that they've built their whole 5 year plan around keeping him, why wouldn't they step up and do what it takes to keep him? Have you heard what their offer is? I haven't seen it anywhere. And part of the answer to your question about the 5 year plan is that he supposedly wants 10 years. -

QUOTE (daa84 @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 06:26 AM) anyone watching watson on jeopardy?? pretty fascinating IMO One thing they didnt really explain is how the timing works though. Does Watson always win the timer if it "knows" a question? Seems like it I caught it. Not sure, but I think Watson will attempt to answer every question, regardless. Maybe he won't if that % indicator is not high enough. He did seem to get in first an awful lot, but not every time.

Albert Pujols' extension - Cards fail to extend by deadline
Leonard Zelig replied to chisoxfan09's topic in The Diamond Club
http://yourenotagolfer.mlblogs.com/archive...s_49_hours.html There's now, officially, an announced deadline in the Albert Pujols negotiations. Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said Monday that talks between the team and agent Danny Lozano will come to an end on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 11 a.m. CT. The deadline has been pushed back from Tuesday, partly out of respect for Stan Musial. "Stan the Man" will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House on Tuesday. "One of the things we wanted to make sure is, tomorrow's a very big day for Stan Musial," Mozeliak said on Monday morning. "And it wouldn't make any sense to have a large distraction for that special day, given the amount of respect we have for that man. So it only makes sense to make sure we weren't trying to have a lot of things going on, given what's happening tomorrow in Washington." -

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 05:30 PM) this is how it should be in my opinion. If Sale can prove he can start while peavys gone and danks still doesnt wanna resign then id ship danks. Only way id do it differently is if they dont think Sale can last a whole year as a starter How many starts would it take for Sale to prove that?
