  1. WTF!! When did IFC start showing commercials during movies?
  2. Was this roast filmed? Apparently there was a roast of Tony Larussa a couple of weeks ago and it just aired tonight. It was not very funny.
  3. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 28, 2011 -> 05:02 PM) Barry Jones In 1990, had a 10-1 record at the All-Star break. As a reliever. Richie Zisk
  4. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jan 28, 2011 -> 12:46 PM) Stopped liking him when he hit that walk off bomb off of Thornton last year in Minnesota. Dwayne Wise The Catch!!! Scott Fletcher
  5. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 26, 2011 -> 04:08 PM) There is also a Jacksonville in North Carolina. Just sayin. There is also a Jacksonville in Illinois. Just sayin.

  7. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 10:12 AM) this is odd, wonder the strategy behind it. Fans that purchase tickets through this on-sale will also receive early access to the Black List member presale on Thursday, February 10.
  8. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 09:26 AM) My point is that they have an historic reputation as a storied franchise despite not having much to show for it. 8 championships, good for second most, I believe.
  9. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 21, 2011 -> 09:42 AM) Ah, I knew that seemed familiar. That makes sense. I thought they were just throwing out Star Wars simply because it's happening in space. Do you realize we're floating in space?
  10. St. Louis may need a 1B next season, maybe they work out a deal to get Rasmus next winter.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 20, 2011 -> 05:53 PM) I just get annoyed with the 'slap in the face' comment by Ozzie. Like Teahen is some proven player that just had a down year. Well its not like Morel is some top rated prospect or was so outstanding last year that he deserves to be given the job. It should be an open competition at this point. That is a problem that I have with people getting quoted on Twitter-practically anything will be taken out of context.
  12. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jan 20, 2011 -> 05:28 PM) Heading out for Aspen tomorrow; Anyone have any album recommendations for the plane ride? Red House Painters "Songs for a Blue Guitar"
  13. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 18, 2011 -> 04:49 PM) Automated Teller Machine I could be mistaken, but I believe it has a slightly different meaning in this context.
  14. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jan 18, 2011 -> 03:40 PM) ATM and DP from Brady and Favre. Oh man, I had to look up ATM.
  15. Are you saying their attendance has dropped by 1 million over the past 4 years? That is not true.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 18, 2011 -> 11:15 AM) Yes. Albert Pujols is worth more in revenue to the Cardinals than to any other team, Yankees included. He's made it pretty clear that he wants to play for a team that is competitive. I don't know what the difference is between what he would sign for now compared to what he would make in FA, and I don't think anybody does. I'm not sure how long the Cardinals can field a competitive team with either contract, but it will become harder if it goes into a bidding war.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 18, 2011 -> 11:02 AM) I don't think they've shot themselves in the foot here...what else could they have done? Tear up Albert's previous contract and offer him 10/$350? That might have gotten him signed already, but it'd probably be an overpay. There really is no comparison for an Albert Pujols hitting the market right now. Other, worse 1b are getting $25 million a year in their 37 year old seasons. There's a reasonable chance that they'll still sign him if he hits the FA market and actually wants to return. He's worth more to them than to other franchises, so if he goes out on the market and the Yankees offer 10/$300, if he came back to the Cardinals and asked them to beat it, they probably should, and that benefits Pujols as well. They let their 6 year window of opportunity dwindle to 30 days, what would you call that? Of course that would have been an overpay, anybody who signs him is going to overpay. Do you reasonably expect STL to win a bidding war for him?
  18. QUOTE (bighurt574 @ Jan 18, 2011 -> 10:38 AM) I doubt the Cards trade Pujols at the deadline. They'd have to be both (1) out of contention for the season, and (2) convinced that they won't be able to re-sign him (a trade would seem to hurt their chances at re-signing him, it's pretty rare to see an impending free agent traded only to re-sign with his old team). I don't see both of those happening. The Cardinals have known this was coming for the past 6 years, they must have been thinking about for at least the past 3. If they haven't resigned him when they are the only team who can even talk to him, what are the chances of resigning him when every team can throw money at him? If they don't extend him before spring training, then I believe they have either really shot themselves in the foot or have known all along they weren't going to.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 18, 2011 -> 01:54 AM) Do you really think there's a team out there that's going to gut their farm for a couple months of Pujols? In other words, would you trade Sale, Viciedo, maybe, you know what, nevermind. I can't even use the White Sox in this hypothetical because the farm is so bad. I can't even come up with a fantasy trade that could net us Pujols. Well, what kind of precedent is there? I'm trying to recall recent similar scenarios and the closest I can come up with is when the Cardinals traded for Holliday in 2009. They gave up Shane Peterson, Clayton Mortenson and Brett Wallace. Mortenson & Wallace were first round picks in 2007 & 2008 and Peterson was a second round pick in 2008. I don't know much about them, but I think Wallace was considered St. Louis' top prospect at the time.
  20. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 17, 2011 -> 10:34 PM) Well my point is that if they trade him at the deadline, they can get a good collection of young players, and then make a bid to sign him in the offseason still. But if they attempt to sign him in the offseason and lose him, they just get the 2 draft picks. Handful of prospects + resign Albert Pujols or 2 draft picks OR resign Albert Pujols I'd take the first option, but again, this is if they aren't leading the divison/wild card, or are like 3-4 games back. Otherwise, I'd sacrifice a few months of Pujols to protect yourself incase he doesn't resign. Sounds good, but I don't think its very likely that St. Louis signs him if he hits free agency.
  21. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Jan 17, 2011 -> 07:11 PM) I drive a 97 honda passport suv. The vehicle I should be driving is Falkor the luckdragon from The NeverEnding Story: You would get so much tail.
  22. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 17, 2011 -> 07:28 PM) I should be moving into a new apartment this summer. I plan on getting a pet-friendly place and adopting an Alaskan Malamute. Get a good vacuum cleaner.
  23. Supposedly Pujols gave the Cardinals a deadline of the beginning of spring training to get an extension done.
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 15, 2011 -> 01:12 PM) Because he didn't wear protection. Gotta wrap that rascal!
  25. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 15, 2011 -> 12:36 PM) Beltre is like the poster boy for the player who shows up in his contract year and takes the rest of the time off. Why didn't he show up in 2009?
