Love my '02 Outback wagon. The interior is so similar to my old Camry that it feels like I'm driving the same car. I wouldn't replace it, but I'd like something else that gets a little better gas mileage for times when I don't need the extra room.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 7, 2011 -> 02:11 PM) I've seen him play against the Sox and I've never seen anything to make me think the advanced metrics are wrong. He's a very athletic player. I even remember him robbing someone of a home run at the Cell back in 09. He's not horrible but he doesn't cover much ground out there and they have Lance Berkman in RF. I think a there will be a lot more balls getting down in the Cardinal out field than there were last season, which was my original point.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 7, 2011 -> 01:46 PM) Holliday's not a bad fielder. I hate how that one ball he took off the crotch in the NLDS gives people the impression he's bad at fielding. I've seen him play more than that game. I don't know his UZR or Range Factor, but I know if he was on the Sox this board would hate his defense.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 7, 2011 -> 11:46 AM) Can't deny this is a good move for the Cubs, too. But they're still a distant 4th behind the Reds, Brewers and Cardinals. I don't know about the Cardinals, their offense should be better, but man that OF defense is going to be bad with Berkman & Holliday. Colby is gonna be busy.

Do these new overtme NFL playoff rules only apply to the opening drive of OT? -
Realistic Adam Dunn expectations
Leonard Zelig replied to DOWNTOWN PANTHER's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He really hasn't floated from team to team either. Arizona acquired him from Cincinnati for the stretch run in 2008, then he signed a 2 year contract with Washington who he stayed with for the entire contract. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 29, 2010 -> 10:04 AM) Around Christmas? This thread started on November 10th. EDIT: And why don't you just put me on ignore. It seems like 80% of your posts are stalking me and complaining about what I say in here. ok

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 28, 2010 -> 08:44 AM) Thanks for the head's up Mr Honorary Thread Policeman. Whatever dude. People are donating their own time to do something fun & nice for the site and you're complaining about it? It was two days after Christmas, you think people might be a little busy around this time?

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 27, 2010 -> 10:24 AM) I gotta be honest. This was just a terrible list idea. We probably could've done 2 or 3 other lists in the time it's taken for this one. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 27, 2010 -> 02:58 PM) Agreed. Go ahead and start your own lists. There's nothing stopping you.

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Dec 23, 2010 -> 10:38 AM) I haven't seen it yet (and I can't wait to) but it is usually hard for me to say that a remake is better than the original when there is this much time between the original and remake. True Grit was one of my favorite older movies. You think they will remake the sequel "Rooster Cogburn" as well? If by "they" you mean the Coen Brothers, then no, they have never done any sequels and I doubt they start now with a story that isn't their own.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 22, 2010 -> 03:18 PM) Lol, no way. Really? Ok here is another..... Explain the scenario in which a ball is hit, and 3 outs are recorded without the defense ever touching the ball, or the ball touching the ground. Must have something to do with the batter passing up the runners on base.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 18, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) I hate peeing in stalls, my johnson always touches the toilet bowl water.................ladies. That reminds me of a joke. There's these two fellers standing on a bridge goin to the bathroom. One feller says that the water is cold, the other feller said the water's deep. I believe one feller come from Arkansas. Get it?

NFL To LA Rumors Heat up Again
Leonard Zelig replied to HuskyCaucasian's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (Cali @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 12:22 PM) So if the Vikings left for LA, you'd have to take them out of the North, and put them in the West. I think you'd have to swap them with the Rams since they're the closest to the midwest (Hey, if Dallas can be considered "East" then St. Louis can be considered "North") It might make sense, but they wouldn't "have" to do anything. The Arizona Cardinals played in the NFC East for like 15 years while New Orleans and Atlanta were in the West and Tampa was in the Central. I would like to see the Rams in the Bears division though. -

QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 09:25 PM) If it was in any of those cities, it would be 3/4 Bears fans. It would be like a home game. It was like that the last time the Bears played the Rams here. Of course that was the Super Bowl year. It was a blast though, Hester had 2 return TDs. -

White Sox listening to offers for Buehrle
Leonard Zelig replied to ozzfest's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 05:08 PM) As far as I know, he has a $15 million team option next year that would have vested if he was traded prior to this year. The team can still choose to pick up his option to keep him for $15 million next year if they want. Because he's a 10/5 player, he also has every right to veto a trade...and he also has the right to say "I'll veto any trade unless my option is picked up", which is a very common thing for players to do. I don't think the 2012 option was never a team option, it was a player option and it has passed. -
White Sox listening to offers for Buehrle
Leonard Zelig replied to ozzfest's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Everybody should know that clause that upped Buehrle's contract by $1M and added the option year is no longer in effect since he is now a 5/10 player. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 11, 2010 -> 07:41 PM) What do you mean by "new"? The building basically got destroyed nearly 2 years ago and they rebuilt it. It was supposed to open this weekend, but I guess it will be open this coming week.

Let me know so I can plan the St. Louis chapter event on the same night.

QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 12:33 PM) Nope. Miller isn't the answer. I looked it up on Bears.com. This may not be the most accurate source.

The official Winter Meetings trade idea thread
Leonard Zelig replied to macsandz's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (scenario @ Dec 5, 2010 -> 10:52 AM) It's a clause that says that, if he's traded, a guaranteed 5th year is automatically added to his otherwise 4-year contract... and the salary for that additional year is $15M. So... if he stays with us, there is only one year left on his current contract. But if traded, his contract is two years. As such, any team interested should expect that they'd be acquiring a pitcher with a two-year contract... the first year (2011) at $14M, and the second year (2012) at $15M. Frankly, I don't see that clause hurting his trade value. In fact, it could help us since whoever might acquire him would be getting more than a 1-year rental. Bottom line: We're not on the hook for that money... unless we decide that it's in our best interest to kick in some money to sweeten another team's trade offer. I think we determined that clause is passed. It was put in to benefit Mark in the case of a trade, but since he now is a 5/10 player he can veto any trade. I do not remember the thread, but Kalapse and somebody else both confirmed this. In other words, if a team trades for Buehrle, they get him 1 year, $14M. -
Sox engaged in "advanced trade discussions"
Leonard Zelig replied to Leonard Washington's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 08:41 AM) The Cardinals need pitching and some more power, we match with them if their financial situation can handle either player. I suppose you could say that about any team, but the Cardinals currently have 5 starting pitchers
