QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 09:37 PM) What does he mean by "walkups" ?? Day of game ticket sales.

Maybe they go for Fuentes now?

Let's go Angels!!!

Didn't Hawk used to say that you can't blame the umpires for losing games? I know there is history with West, but I wish he would give it a rest.

QUOTE (WinorDie88 @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 04:01 PM) Thank you I wasn't defending you.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 03:56 PM) Why do you watch games and why do you bother posting here if you think the team is so utterly incompetent and impending doom is always just around the corner? Aren't there like 50 other posters you could ask the same question?

QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 01:22 PM) 25-5 winning streak + 1st place. There hasn't been anything to give him credit for since then. Who gave him credit for that run? All I read was they were winning in spite of Ozzie. -

QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Aug 20, 2010 -> 08:51 PM) Doubleheader tomorrow starting at 6:10 CST Isn't that a late start for a doubleheader? -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 20, 2010 -> 11:33 AM) So you’re saying they look at things like Kotsay’s 0 hits against LHP and terrible numbers with RISP and decide to just let him bat anyway with the bases loaded against a lefty….in a critical game? Weird. I didn't say any of that, your quote was in reference to the pitching staff.
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 18, 2010 -> 11:18 AM) This team doesn't look at stats, trends, or anything for that matter. It's all about Ozzie's gut. Yeah there's only video footage on The Club of Coop in a room with the pitchers going over batter tendencies. That must have been CGI.

Thank you White Sox for salvaging one game out of this series. For the cause and for the state of soxtalk. It won't be easy, but they can still pull this out.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 19, 2010 -> 07:54 AM) This late in the season and with AJ's "reputation", I seriously doubt it...he's probably cleared waivers already, and most teams in the hunt aren't going to want to flip catchers in September. Is AJ's "reputation" is really an issue to teams or is it more of a fan thing?

I often get annoyed when the mood gets very negative on here too, but it's hard to say anything after last night. There were just too many factors to overlook. The division race, the Twins again, the bullpen again, the whole Thome saga. I don't see how you can get on people for reacting to last night's loss. On the bright side, it only counts as one loss. The Sox still have a chance to win two and really nobody expected to win more than one in MN, so if they can can come away with one we still have a race on our hands.

Theories? Why do the White Sox fade in Aug/Sept. every year?
Leonard Zelig replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 16, 2010 -> 12:27 PM) Told you Freddy would kill this bullpen in the 2nd half. Didn't you also say back in April or May that you didn't have anything to look forward to sports-wise until next baseball season because the Sox are out of it and the Raiders will suck next year? It really is amazing how selective some posters' memories are. This is truly a special season for White Sox fans, how many teams' fans get a chance to give up on their team three times in one season? -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 16, 2010 -> 02:03 AM) Rebuttal to the last two posts. -- We don't beat teams in our division on the road. -- The Twins won 3 of 4 in Minnesota and 2 of 3 in Chicago. It's time they go in for the kill, that is, a 6 game lead. This time they have the upper hand going in. When's the last time we rebuffed them? In the 1 game playoff ... in our park. -- Thome. He has more damage planned against us. -- Bullpen. Even if we play a good game up til the 7th ... yikes. -- No bats. Twins pitchers have been on fire. Our guys look dead again. It ain't our year. That said, I sure as f*** hope I'm wrong. I'm thinking Minnie sweep. If we get one, that's all we get. It's another freak year for the White Sox I'm afraid. Horrible start, amazing streak where we won every night for week after week, then ... blah, over with in a 2 week span. Sure hope I eat these words; but "going into" this series I think it's an accurate assessment. As of this exact moment, can any of you effectively counter my point? The Sox have scored 8 runs in 2 of the last 3 games and at least 6 runs in 4 of the last 6.

Pretty much any scene from Pink Flamingos.

White Sox (63-48) @ Orioles (37-74), 5/5 Game THREAD
Leonard Zelig replied to Steve9347's topic in 2010 Season in Review
QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 9, 2010 -> 11:38 AM) There aren't that many must-wins in baseball, but I think it's fair to say that this is a must-win. I guess it depends on how you define "must-win", because the absolute worst position the Sox can be in after today is tied with the Twins with 50 games left. -
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 11:14 AM) Bought Pavement tickets today. Malkmus was on Sound Opinions the other day, pretty good interview if anyone wants to check it out. I was in Portland this past weekend, I saw Malkmus play softball because my friend plays in the same league.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 02:18 PM) South Korea QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 02:18 PM) The Korean army. He's required to complete a year or so of military service by the time he's age 30, and he's just about that age, and they haven't figured out a way out of it yet. Yeah, but my point is they can't send him back if he's here. It's his choice if he wants to return to Korea.
