So, I can remember 1 other time when Buehrle was tossed, when he had that streak of 5+ IP or something. Does anybody remember who the umpire was in that game? Is that the only other time in his career?

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 26, 2010 -> 10:22 AM) Yes, it's not the inconsistent offense that's keeping us from going on a run, it's our #2 starter. Peavy's given up 5 or more ER in half his starts. There's still plenty of blame to go around on this team.
-
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 26, 2010 -> 09:57 AM) Precisely. Can you explain this a little more? I mean I understand that its more difficult to pitch in the AL because of the DH, but with the frequency that players move from team to team, I don't get calling the entire league inferior.
-
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 26, 2010 -> 09:19 AM) Because comparing Clayton Richard pitching in AAAA ball in the best pitcher's park in the league to Jake Peavy pitching in the MLB and in a huge hitters park is completely fair. By AAAA, do you mean the entire NL?

You can't blame Kotsay if his coach told him to go. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 25, 2010 -> 07:45 PM) Kotsay is a f***ing idiot. It looked like he was looking at his 3B coach on that one. -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 25, 2010 -> 07:04 PM) Go get your sarcasm detector checked out. You are so negative, it really it hard to tell. I will change that to "have been" so negative. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 24, 2010 -> 06:14 PM) Kotsay=1 for 17 with RISP 1 for 1 tonight! -
QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2010 -> 05:36 PM) That was Seattle in the A. Rios walkoff game. Huh, I don't remember watching that game, but I remember the play, may have been drinking.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 24, 2010 -> 05:27 PM) It wasn't a ground rule double, it was a fan interference play Hmm, I must be mistaken, do you remember who they were playing?
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2010 -> 05:21 PM) Everyone is awarded 2 bases if it bounces over the fence. I've never seen it called otherwise. When it's fan inteference, that's a whole different story. I swear an ump allowed a runner to score from first on a ground rule double against the Sox earlier this year, but I cannot remember who they were playing.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 24, 2010 -> 03:09 PM) Michael Dubee? Rich Dubee is the Phillies' pitching coach.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 24, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) I'm talking about the fans undervaluing their own. Lot of bashing of Rowand and people who thought we could do better in cf even though it was a wasteland until this year's version of Rios. Lot of people bagged on Thome even though he'd be way better than this year's piece of s*** DH by committee and lousy lineup. It was time to give Anderson his shot. Same thing with Fields. They didn't work out, but that's what you have to do. You can't keep giving all of your players raises, its just is not possible.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 24, 2010 -> 01:47 PM) He's still been great in terms of percentage of games saved. Since when do big market teams care about salary? And you think Sox fans don't undervalue their own? They wanted to run a highly effective Pods out of town for getting picked off a few times. They undervalued guys like Rowand and Uribe and Garland and Crede and Thome and Dye. Need I list more guys give lack of respect? Greg, we traded Rowand for Thome.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 24, 2010 -> 01:39 PM) Respectful. Excuse me?

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ May 24, 2010 -> 12:21 PM) Still, I bet Fatboy will dominate in the NL... especially if he goes to a contending team with good leadership like the Phillies. He just needs a Dubee to set his mind right.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 24, 2010 -> 08:50 AM) I thought I remember reading that Buehrles contract jumps to an insane amount if he gets traded?(a poison pill, basically) I think its $1M increase and team must pick up the 1 year option.
-
I'm still going at it. This past week sucked because I had to go out of town and only got about half of my workouts in and ate like s*** while I was away. It's so hard for me to to eat well when I am not at home. I'm going to try to make up some of the workouts by doubling up on a couple of days this week.

Has anybody ever heard of Ted Williams having the nickname "Chairman of the Board"? I heard it as an answer to a trivia question and nobody with me had ever heard it. I know they called him The Kid, Teddy Ballgame, and Splendid Splinter, but never Chairman of the Board. The question was something like: What nickname does Ted Williams share with Frank Sinatra?

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 18, 2010 -> 03:51 PM) No, but in the case of Ozzie, he just got really lucky with a couple of guys in the bullpen and pretty much the entire starting rotation. Everybody on that pitching staff pretty much threw beyond their ability. Luck is something that Ozzie had in 05. He didn't create the luck, so why should he get credit for it? Well, he is sure taking a lot of the blame for the bad luck so far this year. It should go both ways.
