  1. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 03:39 PM) I just read that the wireless mic system I use where I work is being banned from operation effective June 12th. Now sure how I missed that, but that sucks. Now I have to replace it with a new $4000 system. This is a result of the 700MHz spectrum sale a few years back. How are they enforcing that?

    Grillin'!

My uncle who was a pipe fitter in the coal mines for years made a grill out of an old keg of beer. I wish I had a picture of it.
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 12:47 PM) Carpenter is always an injury risk, and Wainwright, as good as he is, ain't in the class of Halladay and Lincecum. Tim is just of a different species. And Roy+NL+Phillies-offense=video game. But, yeah, they'll be other guys in the conversation. I just fully expect it to come down to those two. And I also expect it to be one of the closest votings ever (provided both pitchers stay healthy). Wainwright probably isn't as good as Lincecum, but last season he was. Lincecum's delivery makes me wonder if he will end up hurting himself.

1 down, 89 to go. i am using bands, curious to see how I feel tomorrow. I've been doing pull ups the past few weeks to prepare myself, taking a minute or two break between sets. Doing them right after the push ups really cuts down on my reps, thank you chair. I don't think I got through one ab exercise without taking a break. Oh well, should only get better from here on out.

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 10:42 AM) poof. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...59144&st=30 Not sure if that is the thread I was talking about, because the recipe I used isn't in there. Was it your recipe? If so, thanks!

    Grillin'!

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 10:06 AM) yeah, i cooked them indirectly. i used a rib rack, put the coals up the other side, and cracked the lid above the ribs so it would pull the heat towards the ribs. It worked good. Honestly though, the best ribs i have made yet I made in the oven for this past years superbowl. I cooked them at 200 degrees for about 4 hours. They fell off the bone Did you use that recipe that somebody(can't remember who) on here posted? I tried it and they were awesome. I still have it if anybody wants it.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 09:59 AM) Any experience smoking say a rack of ribs for 2 hours on one of those? My buddy smokes all kinds of meat on his Weber. I would get a Weber or cheaper gas until you are somewhere more permanent, then go for the nice one you really want.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 08:19 AM) Bah, 1 game does not a season make. But Carpenter gave up what, 3 HR last night? He gave up 7 all last year. I did not see last nights game, but when he's healthy he has been pretty awesome the last several seasons. I don't know if Wainwright can keep it up. Has anybody ever won 3 CYs in a row?
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 08:16 AM) I was flipping channels between that game and some other stuff last night, and man...Ryan Braun absolutely murdered a Carpenter pitch. There was a lot of HR in that game. I stand corrected.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 04:16 AM) Tim Lincecum and Roy Halladay are good at pitching. I think we're in for the most competitive CY tug-of-war in recent memory. I can say with just about 100% certainty it's going to come down to those two. There's a couple of guys here in St. Louis that could/should have won it last year who may disagree with you.
  11. Can Jones' body hold up if he plays outfield everyday? It's a long season and I think everybody will be needed to contribute all year long.
  12. Why did the ref wait until there was 1 minute left in the last round to tell Silva to fight? He should have done it the 3rd and/or 4th round.
  13. Does Alexei get to play in Toronto this year?
  14. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 03:23 PM) Im still laughing at JJ hardy The ball was at the cutoff man pretty much as he rounded third, that was hilarious.. Well, you gotta do what your coach tells you in that situation.
  15. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 03:16 PM) Why you bringin up old stuff? Heh heh I guess you're right You asked
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 03:16 PM) He was right... He lasted eight No, he lasted THROUGH five and beyond.
  17. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 03:09 PM) What I tell you????? Mark won't last through 5 today.
  18. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 10:13 AM) Hell he could lead off, manage or be the hitting coach for all I care. He couldn't do any worse! No seriously though. DH? He doesn't want to DH which is why he is not playing baseball right now.
  19. QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 09:37 AM) Read this: gamethread at 1-4 One of those threads claimed that Thornton was a BP machine. I'll just copy and paste this: Ha, I was at that game and the next one, Buehrle stepped up.
  20. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 10:06 AM) I wonder if KW is considering bringing in Jermaine Dye yet... Where would he play?
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 06:30 PM) I'm watching the f***ing Royals game and they are pounding the f***ing ball. Ankiel has five hits in a row over 2 nights. They must have a great GM.
  22. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 02:58 PM) This is actually exactly what a lot of us expected the offense to be. Hell, i projected us to be the same or worse as last years offense multiple times. Sp, please don't say this is a suprise or that's unreasonable to think that this will continue. So you believe that Pierre will hit .150, Beckham will hit .222, Kotsay will hit .100, Rios & Pierzynski .211, Alexei .158, and Teahen .091 for the entire season? Otherwise it is unreasonable to think this will continue.
