QUOTE (WCSox @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 01:50 PM) Funny how Thome doesn't have a problem playing for $1.5 million. JD needs to get over himself. He's old, the market is bad, he can't play defense anymore, and he couldn't hit during the second half of last season. He's not getting Damon money, or even Teahen money. Why does he need to get over himself? It sounds like he's got a dollar amount that he is willing to play for and doesn't want to accept less. He's earned over $70 million dollars in his career and I doubt he needs the money. Would you accept a job for 1/3-1/2 of what you thought you were worth if you didn't have to?

Preview of Sox MLBN Reality Show - The Club

Does anybody know if these shows are normally online? I don't get MLB anymore -
QUOTE (qwerty @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 11:53 PM) To start of the game a lead-off hitter is guaranteed to not have an opportunity to knock it a run. Rickey Henderson did it 81 times.

Which ex-Sox Player Would You Want Back for 2010 Team?

QUOTE (The Beast @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 10:12 AM) I wonder who all of the Pods supporters are here, as many of you seemingly have a hard on for Juan Pierre (.213 avg, .276 OBP, 1 RBI, 9 SB, 3 CS) over Scott Podsednik (.365 avg .429 obp, 8 RBI, 8 SB, 1 CS). There is a whole thread devoted to Podsednik in Diamond Club, that should give you an idea. -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 09:38 AM) Zelig responded to a post asking how Ozzie could screw up a lineup, with "not having Peavy give up 5 runs." That's counter-intuitive; Peavy sucking (which we all agree is a huge problem for this team) has nothing to do with taking responsibility off of Ozzie's poor decision making. Peavy starts every 5 days, Ozzie makes the lineup 100% of the time. I must have missed the word "lineup" in that post I quoted. -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 09:17 AM) Yes, because all of Ozzie's poor managing can be written off by Peavy's bad start. Are you saying that Ozzie's managing last night had more of an impact on the game than the first inning? -

QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 07:08 AM) How is Ozzie going to f*** this one up today? At least I will be at work so I don't have to see his smug ass today! I hope he doesn't give up 5 first inning runs again too. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 12:03 AM) Because he had a bigger say in the roster this offseason, and they've assembled a 105 million dollar clunker. He's also making some really stupid in-game decisions. Have you looked at our players' stats recently? What manager could win with the numbers they have put up so far? Quentin: BA under .190 Beckham: OBP under .300 AJ: BA under .170 OBP .231 Alexei: OBP .229 Peavy: ERA 7.85 Floyd: ERA 8.38 Buehrle: ERA 4.68 Garcia: ERA 5,82 Which players would you say that Ozzie is directly responsible for having on this team?

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 09:53 PM) Key of this game: Ozzie f***ing around with Peavy in the 7th and making Williams lose the game again. Do you really think that was bigger than the 5 run first inning when you declared the game over?

Ryan Howard/Phillies agree to extension

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 08:57 PM) I'm talking in regards to the pace for career homers. They're just about the same age, but Pujols was around earlier and is way ahead for career total. Well, in that case, I agree. If anybody actually thought that, it was stupid. -

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 04:36 PM) I never thought of Ryan Howard as being that great. When he first came around, there were a few, well, idiots who thought he'd surpass Pujols in homers. To them, he seemed like the next "young" monster who was on an even more ridiculous pace than Pujols. None of them seemed to realize he's actually older than Pujols. He hit more HRs than Pujols in 3 consecutive years, last year Albert had 2 more. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 12:57 PM) By the end of some of the resistance workouts, I can barely do 8. I just downloaded one on one with Tony Horton and also the insanity series. Looking forward to adding this to my plan. As I said before, my muscle results have been very good, but I havent leaned down as much as I wanted to, so I am adding some more cardio to the mix. Did you get those Bowflex adjustable dumbbells? Do you like them? I've read some reviews where people say they are not as sturdy as they would like.

I have been shooting for the 12-15 range in reps. I think I will try the heavier bands next time and just see how many I can do.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 04:12 PM) Congrats Ozzie, you needed that...to prove your decision-making process (by gut, not by the book) to stay with Danks against Gutierrez and not to pull Jenks for Thornton against Ken Griffey, Jr. both worked out. Of course, you were really DUMB not to have Thornton warmed and ready for a LH PH. Then again, it's going to kill Matty if we have him warming up or pitching in 120 games. No matter how easy/repeatable his delivery, he can't take that kind of stress/duress all season long. It's only April 25th, after all. Konerko: April Player of the Month A. Jones/Alex Rios: April Comeback Player of the Month AJ/Ramirez/Pierre/Becks=FAIL...FAIL...FAIL How many times have you ever seen a manager pull his (established) closer with 2 outs in the 9th inning to play a L-R match-up?

I don't know if its because I'm using bands or what, but my arms are not nearly as sore as I expected them to be the day after Shoulders & Arms. My arms aren't dead after the workout, but I don't feel like I could do the next higher band on any of the exercises yet. Am I doing something wrong?

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 04:46 PM) Was the wedding at Touch of Nature? Thats where every one of my friends got married. I think I went to at least 4 weddings there in my time in Cdale No, but I have been to weddings out there. Its really nice if the weather cooperates.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 03:05 PM) And another round of plyo is in the books for me. Hate. Love. Just did plyo for the second time. I couldn't hang with them the entire time, but I did much better than the first round.

We were both in a wedding of mutual friends in Carbondale. They are now divorced, and we will be together 7 years in September, but are not married.

QUOTE (3E8 @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 01:30 PM) Are there any good beers available in cans? I'm sick of drinking Keystone Light at our softball games. I guess it would have to be not very heavy Guinness with the widget is tasty.
