  1. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 12:27 AM) Ya you can see it with his style. He works fast, (pitching and starting each inning) throws strikes, fields his position very well, and has a great pick-off move. (not to mention learned the cutter here) Similarities end with that however with their pitching styles. Eric Gagne retires officially. Maybe he can give Jason Schmidt his Cy Young he stole from him. Yeah, right after Jason Schmidt gives back the $45 million he stole from the Dodgers.
  2. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 06:54 PM) Donner Party weren't cannibals I thought they found some journals from the party that said they did?
  3. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 04:46 PM) I agree, we should not get worked up about us not being part of the real team. We are fans and have some input into the revenue but not much else. Definitely not worth spitting up blood in a thread. Who do you mean by "we"?

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 12:46 PM) Hey guys....sorry I have not been around to keep up the encouragement. Finished the program last week, and have been taking a break, but already feeling like a lazy bum. Going to start up again today I guess. Not sure what I am going to do long-term, but I need to get moving or else I feel like a lot of my gains will be lost. Hope everyone is still pressing play! Just started week 2!

You guys who drink chocolate milk after workouts, how much do you drink? I've been drinking pints but I wonder if it is too much.
  6. Beckham would not be best SS in team history. Maybe best hitter who played SS.
  7. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 08:31 PM) There are probably a lot of guys that would be ecstatic about this probably more women
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 06:25 PM) well, let me ask you, what season have we started poorly that we've made the playoffs. This happens every year we don't make the playoffs and we all go "ooh we are gonna heat up!" but really we are just a .500 to below team with a 100 mill payroll. In1983 the Sox were 12-17, 13-20, 16-24, 25-31. They went on to win 99 games and the AL West by 20 games.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 12:23 AM) how many playoff seasons have we had where we started off slow Well they haven't had many playoff appearances period, considering how long they have been a team, but 1983 would qualify.
  10. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 08:25 PM) i just streamed my first SP of the year in my fantasy league. who? Fausto Carmona. sigh... What do you mean, streamed?
  11. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 09:24 AM) Playoff beards are irritating and I am not sure why. Try this. Organic Bath Co. Men's Spa Pro - Smooth Shave & Beard Softener
  12. QUOTE (Disco72 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 10:28 AM) The Sox got to Westbrook in the Opener, now it's time to regain that form! For all those struggling Sox hitters, just call me slump buster! Oh...and hopefully Ozzie makes those lineup changes he talked about last night. I missed it, what did Ozzie say about the lineup?

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 05:58 PM) Do your best and forget the rest sounds like a lame slogan, but its true with this program. Do what you can. There have been days when I totally didn't feel like working out but did the best that I could with what I had that day. I have missed a few days in a row before, and I just go right back at it asap. Just because you can't always perform as well as you should doesn't mean you should do nothing at all. Struggling through plyo is a lot better than not doing anything at all. So what if you have to cut a few exercises short because your out of gas, or you can't keep up with the people on the video? Just getting up and working at it when you don't feel like you have anything that day, and giving it your best can make all the difference in the world. I hear ya. I just could not do abs after my first Legs & Back today, but I plan to make it up tomorrow.
  14. Watch the Dundees episode of The Office for some ideas.

QUOTE (maggliopipe @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) The necessity of them is really based on how flexible you are. The less flexible, the more you'll need them. You could stack a couple dictionaries or big books on top of each other but you will sweat like a mofo so cover them to keep them dry! Wow, no kidding. I sweated more in the first 45 minutes of Yoga than I have in any of the other exercises so far. I've never done yoga before and I found it difficult to perform the moves while I watched to see what I was supposed to be doing. My body feels great right now though. Softball opening day in 3 hours!

Doing Yoga today. How necessary are yoga blocks and is there anything that would be a good substitute that I have around the house?
  17. Man Soo Lee was a great bullpen guy, not sure where he is now.
  18. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 01:11 PM) Has anyone ever seen the movies "Fire in the Sky" or "Fire Down Below"? They are almost as good as "Fired Up". Is Fire in the Sky the one where the guys gets abducted by aliens, supposedly based on a true story? Its been a while, but I remember liking it.
  19. Not sure how up to date it is, but here's the 40 man roster. I count only 39.
  20. Is Lamarr Hoyt pissed because he got traded for Ozzie? Does he think he would be manager now if he wasn't? There were 7 or 8 regular starters, depending on what you consider Jones, in the lineup tonight and they managed one hit. What was Ozzie thinking?
  21. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 07:41 PM) Has Nix played at all this season? Not sure, but 0 ABs.
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 11:42 AM) That wasn't the point I was trying to make. What I'm saying is who cares when he gets those 3 hits? If he went 3 for 3 to start the game and then went 0-2 it would be the same end result. I'm not b****ing about him at all. OK, misunderstood.
  23. QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 11:39 AM) Are we really arguing about which player on our team was more valuable in a winning effort? Don't forget complaining b/c the man who drove in the tying & winning runs was hitless in his first 2 ABs.
  24. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 11:27 AM) If Teahen did anything in his earlier ABs there might not have been a need for late inning heroics. Are you serious? He was 3-5, box score says he left one man on base. Is this just proof that a White Sox fan can never be satisfied? Peavy gave up 7 ER, btw.
