  1. Root, root, root, for who ever you want. Doesn't matter, casue we will play whoever earns the spot.
  2. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 02:08 PM) From BP: The White Sox are still after Billy Wagner, sweetening their offer to include embattled third baseman Joe Crede, in addition to Brandon McCarthy and Damaso Marte. Is Wagner the equivalent (or better) of A.J. Burnett? VORP doesn't think so. Wagner comes in at 17.6 while Burnett is five runs better at 22.6. Still, it's not a bad deal, assuming Ed Wade and Kenny Williams are using the trade analyzer in Team Tracker. Yesterday's post, so have at it. That's way too much to give.
  3. QUOTE(Tadahito15 @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) I think I will go crazy if nothing happens by 2:00 pm sunday. all these rumors. AHHH Is 2 pm the deadline? I though it was midnight.
  4. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) I hear you, but next month is BRUTAL schedule-wise, and I'm afraid we'll be under .500 and people will say "well, that was just a tough month on the schedule" October is a pretty tough month on the schedule too, and one that we can't afford to be under .500 in... Two games against Cleveland are all I see scheduled in Octoer.
  5. QUOTE(Nokona @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 07:47 PM) His velocity was down to a pultry 95. I was at the game, and the board said he got as high as 98. He was 96-97 consistantly in his first inning. In his second, his fastball was around 93, but he threw more sliders in that inning. He seemed to be tiring, but I thought he looked good overall.
  6. QUOTE(Tadahito Iguchi @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) The fact they have only scored 1 run against the royals tonight....Is a perfect reason the sox NEED a bat...........So this is Kenny's calling here............ against the Royals.................. Well, the game is not over and didn't they score like 17 last night?
  7. Could the Sox be waiting to see if they can get a lefty to replace Marte?
  8. Is this about the Sox Talk book club? What is the next book? I may join you.
  9. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 01:37 PM) If you really laughed that hard at that, then I have some fart jokes you would love.
  10. QUOTE(Yossarian @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) After 88 years of pain and suffering you can't blame some fans for being doubting Thomases including yours truly. I'm unhappy on a number of things lately. Thank heavens for the Cleveland series. Every time this year the Sox looked like they were going into a deep funk, they've gone on another tear. It's time to do it again. The upcoming schedule has no mercy. Uhhh, Kansas City?
  11. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) Jabroni was on that list for over 50 days straight before. I have not even done that... Where is Jabroni?
  12. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 11:56 PM) Couple of things: Buehrle needs to show me that he can go out and beat bad hitting clubs. All of tonight was horrible, from the first pitch. When he actually got ahead of hitters(0-2, 1-2 counts) you knew after the 3rd that the guy would get a hit. And they proceeded to hit him and hit him hard. This isn't the playoffs yet and he needs to learn how to buckle down like a true ace. He's our guy, so he needs to be able to make 5 runs into a win. Boston is a bad hitting team?
  13. QUOTE(Soxman72 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 07:02 PM) I was at the game last night and there were six scouts there for Contreras. It was odd to see Jerry Krasue there representing the Mets. Usually in past seasons around July 31 I would see two or three scouts so it is hard for me to believe that a trade isnt on the horizon with all of the scouts at the game. It was funny to see them react to Jenks. He had three guns on his first pitch. After that all the scouts were on him. Well, I went to a Sox game in KC in April and there were at least 4 scouts sitting right around me for that game, so it may not really mean anything. One that I talked to was from the Phillies and said he was not eyeing any particular player, just scouting.
  14. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 11:47 AM) I expect the Sox to play great this series and win at least 3 of 4 from the carmines I've heard Hawk use that term a million times, where does it come from?

    Google moon

    That's kind of cheesy.
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 12:13 AM) He is our closer of the future. He was a starter but put a lot of stress on that elbow and had pins and a few surgeries on it. That sounds like a plan, thanks for the info.
  17. Tonight was the first time I got to see Jenks throw and I was pretty impressed. Does he have the potential to be a starting pitcher sometime in his career?
