  1. Not against Cleveland. There's alot of bad signs. Our guys aren't hitting and Ozzie has found it suitable to play AAA players right now over the guys who have gotten us this far.
  2. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 06:23 PM) Only other option is Brian Anderson. Excuse me, but what happened to Griffey? Or why can we no longer play Quentin in LF with Swisher in CF? Oh and I would easily take Brian Anderson over Jerry "I have no business in the big leagues" Owens.
  3. QUOTE (zenryan @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 09:20 PM) Correction, their head coaching is not very good. Illinois needs to stockpile recruits for another two years and then get a good gameday coach in there. They'll win 7-8 games a year b/c they'll be able to out-athlete teams. Their coach wasn't the problem today. Their offense was not the problem. Heck their defense wasn't the problem. Their special teams was big time. If Zook sucked so much, he wouldn't have been able to beat OSU at the horseshoe last year.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 09:16 PM) Illinois is just not very good. Missouri is just too fast. Maclin is a top 10 pick, right now. Correction, their special teams is not very good. And Maclin is a sophmore, isn't he?
  5. According to ESPN Gameday, Javy is getting squeezed badly. Two inside pitches, slightly about the mid section being called balls. Both clearly inside the strike zone according to Gameday.
  6. I like his game but one could easily see why people don't like him, especially earlier in the year. He just wasn't earning his keep.
  7. Hopefully it's not a first pitch grounder or popup. Take some pitches.
  8. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 05:00 PM) Nobody on this team can bunt, besides maybe Ramirez and Getz. I wouldn't have confidence in anyone but Getz to get a bunt down. Ozzie and his staff complain about not doing the fundamentals good enough. Well it seems like when players are on this team long enough, it's not enforced strong enough to know how to do it. That's why you should let the player swing. Especially a guy like AJ.
  9. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 04:57 PM) Because he expects a major league hitter to be able to put down a bunt? Because he expects a hitter who he's had for 3 years already to bunt when he should know his tendencies by now including strengths and weaknesses. Can anyone honestly say with a straight face, they would have any confidence in AJ laying down a bunt? If I was Getz, I would've stole no matter what.
  10. Go Sox and forget everyone else. We control our destiny.
  11. It's a crock Willie was this low. GROUP 4!!!1
  12. QUOTE (Felix @ Aug 21, 2008 -> 03:39 PM) Yeah, we weren't in contention before that deal. In fact, he's been doing fantastic for the Sox so far hitting .239/.321/.304 with a grand total of one extra-base hit. That just screams "person that put the team in contention" to me. But it was a damn good one. And it's about the team and that's Griffey's greatest asset. He brings a quiet confident swagger. Something that says, "Don't worry, I've been on sucky teams. Chill out relax and let the good times roll. We got this." I think he's a really good influence to have around. What a great team player. Ozzie will tell you the same.
  13. But it was a damn good one! And his effect is on the team, not his individual stats. It's more than that. SMH at you not following the team concept. Ozzie told me so. Don't be jealous because you don't have Griffey's smile.
  14. Gio = left handed Pedro Martinez. I digress... The move that put this team into contention was Ken Griffey Jr. Anyone who doesn't agree just doesn't watch enough baseball.
  15. Add it onto the reasons why I left Comcast and need another service. Unfortunately, all that is available is Comcast at my mother's house.
  16. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 12:26 AM) Winner winner, chicken dinner!
  17. Jose Paniagua The one guy who screwed us over in the Twinkie dome a couple of years back. He was a middle reliever. D'Angelo Jimenez Royce Clayton Mike Caruso
  18. As an outsider, I think Rex and Orton bring the same impact, just in different areas. I think Orton is going to be way more consistent and be a nice player, but he's not going to bring that "it" factor that could carry a team anywhere. He'll win a couple of games on his own, but only a couple(2) and no more than that. He'll also manage situations much better. With that said, I am going to miss Rex's gunslinger attitude. He throws the deep ball really accurate and does have that it factor. He just doesn't have consistency. With that said, all the QB's will fail until the Bears actually have an O-Line worth a damn and some legit WR's. It's going to be a long year for you guys. A really long one.
  19. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Aug 14, 2008 -> 04:45 PM) I didn't say he couldn't have an opinion I was just asking what he was going by, If he's seen some scouting reports which completely take apart Danks' game and show why he'll never amount to anything, or if he's been watching him all year and knows his game well then fair enough, but if he's just pulling stuff out of his arse then it was really a pretty pointless statement. There's a difference between an informed opinion on a subject and a pure guess. It's based off scouting reports and stats. I kept track of him since his senior year of high school when the Sox tried to draft him, but ended up at Texas anyway. As a 7th round pick, he's not much of a reach and there are way worse picks that could be made(Like the Sox 2nd round pick), but the contract he was given was not that of a 7th rounder, as a pure guess. Therefore, overpaid as well.
  20. Hopefully he keeps it up. He certainly has the stuff to continue dominating. It's all head games with him.
