**White Sox vs. Twins 9/25/08 Thread**
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 09:04 PM) Hit the f***ing ball, or work on your golf swing. It's the same thing, isn't it? Anyway, you guys make them early. I really wanted to make the game thread. Damn you guys. Now we'll lose because only I stop losing streaks.

Rally Crede!
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 10:45 AM) Come on people, get with the times. It's the Jobu this year. Rally Crede was a 2005 thing SMH get with the program. Crede will play in the 9th inning tonight and hit a game winning G-Slam.

Rally Crede!
Yes we do. I've had him in my avy forever and I guess someone stopped hosting him. Time for the rally Crede to rise from the ashes.

Official 2008-2009 NFL Thread
I don't think Orton has play horrid. He's showing a guy who is kind of finding his way with the playbook given. I think the Bears need to run shotgun alot more and overall, just need to get more creative on the offensive side of the ball. Defensively, wow have they fallen. Peanut is still living off Randy Moss for the most part because that guy is continually overrated. Yes, he gets picks, but if he doesn't, he usually is getting burned. Run a hitch route or a double move route and the guy is a deer in headlights. Vasher hasn't looked all too great either, so that does not help. Overall, I think the Bears need to overhaul their secondary.

Ozzie calls out Javy
QUOTE (quickman @ Sep 22, 2008 -> 06:40 PM) fathom if Ozzie is worried about Javy's intensity in a regular season game, just think about a playoff game. the intensity is not even close yet. furthermore, the whitesox seem to be putting more and more pressure on themselves, like they are scared to go to minni, rather than going to minni, with the idea that they will be the better team. this starts with ozzie, I actaully think he is scared of the twins at the dome. I think Ozzie is more concerned with his White Sox. He's not afraid of the Twins, he's just afraid of us self-imploding because some of his guys are scared. AJ even addressed it kind of in today's Sun-Times.

Ozzie calls out Javy
I think New York affected him. I mean, even when he first began with New York, he was great. Anyone remember that game when he just flat out dominated us? Anyway, I think after he lost a couple of big games that year, New York fans started booing and calling him out and it turned out huge when he made his only postseason start. Then I think ever since, he just kind of threw up his arms and said, "Why should I give maximum effort?" And since then, he pitches just to pitch and not to win. He pitches because he likes the game, he doesn't seem to love it. His stuff is great, but for a pitcher, you just can't be going through the motions because all it takes is one mistake. That's why you have seen him dominate garbage teams for the most part. He has good enough stufff and they're bad enough to where he doesn't really have to pitch to give a crap. Against good teams, when he should hunker down, he pitches to them with the same "Manny-Like" attitude as he pitches to those crappy teams.

By far, top 3 episode last night. Holy crap that was hilarious, especially when Drama started singing with Vince.

Single Game Playoff Tickets
Wow, thanks for the link. I probably will go that route. I just really want to go since I didn't have a chance to in 2005.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 05:56 PM) With the way the Twins have played the last two months, why should I believe that will make a serious run at 1st place? Everyone complained last night the Sox don't have the killer instinct to wrap this division up, and are letting the Twins right back in it. Where is the Twins killer instinct. If the Sox really have let them back in it time and time again, why haven't the taken it? To be fair, we couldn't get the job done. We should've had this division wrapped up awhile ago. And I mean, a whillllle ago. And we, like the Twins, suck on the road. We're playing them in their house. I sadly have a feeling that it's going to take that Tigers game as well.

Official 2008-2009 College Football Thread
QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 11:02 AM) I think college football has been down since the USC/Texas title game. I think both those teams would have beaten the past two national champions. Yeah, but both teams were arguably two of the best in the past 25 years. USC IMHO would have beaten any other team this decade. Texas as well except for maybe the 2000 Miami team. We were all spoiled that year because there were so many great football teams like USC, Texas, and OSU(in my opinion, the only OSU team that was actually good).

True Fact
Well KC and Cincy to me will be on the rise within the next couple of years. They have an excellent GM in Walt Jocketty over at GAB and at Kaufmann, Drayton Moore(I think that's his name) will do a fine job. He's a great scout. KC in 4 years will be where Tampa is at IMHO.

Just Bought a Mac
I heard quicksilver is the application to get for your Mac. I also had this one software hacker for Mac (don't have it anymore since I'm an Accounting/Finance major and we use PC's) that would crack any program you wanted literally. You didn't have to download seperate keygen's or anything like that. It was pretty cool.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 10:03 PM) IMO, Florida would give USC the best run for their money, over any team in the nation. Oklahoma IMO would give USC the biggest fits.

Single Game Playoff Tickets
I don't know. I joined the Sox Pride Club so I actually have a 3% chance of getting a ticket instead of the 0% I had without it. I know you had to register with mlb.com this past week to be eligible. And if anyone wants to buy Cubs tickets (not necessarily to keep), they go on sale tomorrow.

Rank Our MLB Roster: Best to Worst
Where's Griffey on the VORP list?
-
Thanks for the astute observations, OC and Oz
What's so devastating is this team, even without Quentin shouldn't be dominated like that. There's too much good on offense, even if they are old and you add that their skills have depreciated. As a group, they still should be Top 5 IMHO. Oh yeah, if people are tired, there's Brian.

9/18 Sox vs. Bombers - 6:05 pm, WGN
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 07:54 PM) If they had Griffey wrapped up earlier, i wish they really woulda done something with an outfielder (BA?) going somewhere for at least a decent reliever. Problem is, you have to pay a ton for decent relievers.

9/18 Sox vs. Bombers - 6:05 pm, WGN
Our offense needs to do something to start scoring runs. I don't care how good pitching is. If we don't score runs, I rather not be in the playoffs.

9/18 Sox vs. Bombers - 6:05 pm, WGN
Holy crap, I just checked gameday and we are only down 4-1. I would've thought it was 8-0 White Sox by reading this thread.

9/18 Sox vs. Bombers - 6:05 pm, WGN
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 06:33 PM) If they can get a high obp guy in here somewhere else i'm all for this. Hell if you need 2b for the incoming guy, try Alexei in CF. I'm all for it as well, the only problem being is they thought Swisher was going to be there young CF with a high OBP and I'm sure they're not ready to give up on him just yet. So that only leaves 3B(if they want) and 2B/SS. And yes, I do realize there is a shortage of good SS's unfortunately. I just rather leave Alexei at 2B because he looks so fluid at it. We shall see though. I wouldn't mind Orland Cabrera for 3 years either. Maybe you hope that Beckham makes it through the system quickly and put him at 3B instead of 2B. He'd be much more valuable there IMHO.

If the Sox could get Cano, I would be happy. Then again, Walk might screw him up. Hudson would be nice too. I would prefer we keep Ramirez at 2b and find a SS.

50 FAVORITE WHITE SOX PLAYERS
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 04:45 PM) 3.42 era in his career in the playoffs. Decent ERA, but I would rather rely on a Beckett type pitcher or a Doc Halladay or in 2005's case, a Jose Contreras. Good guy though. He was the first Sox player I saw that was good and legit as a pitcher, so I won't hate him. I really can't, even during his terrible stretch in which we brought back Sandy Alomar.
