8/7 Sox v Tigers, 7:11, WCIU
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) Safe to say the Tigers coaching staff is beating the White Sox's staff tonight? Yes. Only good move Ozzie made was leaving Javy out there instead of burning our bullpen for a game that looked like we were going to lose back in the 5th.

It was a legit catch. He's pretty good defensively.

Yeah, Razor was pretty great. The year before was kind of headscratching. Thing is, Razor fell out of favor in the organization.

Any runner should've been sent home. The thing is, we didn't pinch run for Thome. We absolutely should have. The bounce when Raburn picked it up dictated such.

His stuff isn't overrated. He has electric stuff. He's just a mental midget. Honestly, he could have given up around 13 runs tonight, but he keeps striking guys out with 2 outs to end a chance for a huge inning. He's only good when he pitches pissed. When he pitches relaxed, he blows.

First hit of night comes from Uribe. Oh yeah, this is going to be a long one.

The homer was all Cabrera, but the rest of the game has been on him. He's just f***ing around. He has too good of stuff to be doing that.

Well if he only gives up two runs, I'll be happy. He needs to stop dicking around and just climb the f***ing ladder with his pitches.

uh, White Sox winner
Nice vet move by Thome.

I've got an awesome idea...
Well this is probably one of the differences KW and Ozzie are going to have. KW basically made it sound like he gave up on PK turning it around for the year while Ozzie continues to keep playing him. I'd side with Oz on this one.

Favre to the Jets
QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Aug 5, 2008 -> 04:47 PM) ESPN breaking news, Favre stopped at Walgreen for Pepto, he has diahhrea from last nights dinner. Hopefully for Bears' fans sake, on his way to Halas.

Favre to the Jets
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 5, 2008 -> 02:51 PM) I'd take him in a heartbeat and install him ahead of Grossman and Orton immediately. Yeah, I don't know why most of you Bears fans don't feel this way. He'd be waaaay better than Grossman or Orton. Good thing my Cowboys don't have to deal with such. psst, Get your popcorn ready!

Take a chance on Scott Eyre?
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 5, 2008 -> 02:35 PM) That was Howry. Or both, but I'm pretty sure it was Howry. I think it was Eyre. Howry just told it like it is. He didn't say anything that was not true about the Sox or Sox fans. Sox fans just took it that way. Eyre IIRC was talking major stuff about our organization though.

You're Kenny Williams
QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 5, 2008 -> 01:53 PM) You're not. But that's the whole point. What the Sox have been trying for the past 2 1/2 years has been met with mixed results. But more importantly, it's garnered them zero playoff appearances. If they fail to make the playoffs again this year, Kenny needs to seriously consider moving one or more of those aging sluggers (if possible) and starting over again. I kind of doubt he'll do that this winter(partially because Paulie and Thome can reject trades). But if they're playing .500 ball next June, it'll be time to hold a firesale and stock up on prospects. If we fail this year, it's not because we slug our way into wins. It's because our 2nd half pitching has let us down.

Oz probably getting suspended...
QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 4, 2008 -> 04:50 PM) How can you be suspended when there is no apparent reason? Nite, all I'm saying is these 'rules' are silly. Either everything is grounds for plunking or none of it is. As a fan, I go with all of it simply because for some strange reason, I love seeing a bullpen clearing brawl. It's a weird fascination of mine. I love the staredown after a guy knows he's been intentionally plunked.

Oz probably getting suspended...
QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Aug 4, 2008 -> 04:46 PM) JD doesn't do much unless its a big-moment HR (game tying, winning etc) which I'm fine with. TCQ tosses his bat like that after every hit due to fearing he may use it to decapitate the first baseman. The ones i have a problem with are the Soriono's, Aramis, Braun, etc. Hit a solo shot when you're down 5 and flip the bat, jog backwards, hop sideways down the line....the next AB for that d-bag or even the very next guy should be hit 100% of the time. So basically if it's our guys, you don't mind it. If it's another team's, we should throw fastballs at their spleen? Nice way to be objective.

Oz probably getting suspended...
QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 4, 2008 -> 04:42 PM) ...and one way to make sure he doesn't homer off me at his next at bat is to plunk his knee cap. Another one is to get suspended for intentionally hitting a batter for no apparent reason at all. Then you force some AAA rook to crap in his pants in the middle of a pennant race. Then he will pose against your replacement and not you. Yep, I guess that's an efficient way to do it.
