Very good read. Anyone know what happened with Natalee Hollaway's case?

Latest from MLBTradeRumors: * The Tigers are 5.5 games out, but are still on the fence about buying or selling. * Carroll says there's "much more substance to rumors of the White Sox going after Justin Duchscherer" as compared to the one about the A's pursuing Jason Bay. * The Phillies could jump back in on A.J. Burnett if the price comes down. Also - could Burnett clear waivers in August? * The Rockies' demands for Brian Fuentes might be holding up the relief market. * Regarding Raul Ibanez, the Mariners either want to tack Jose Vidro on in a deal or get back premium prospects. * The White Sox have become aggressive, and apparently had failed talks about Orlando Cabrera with the Red Sox. Josh Fields is not considered untouchable. all this is taken off of Will Carroll from Baseball Prospectus I believe.

Bears need Charles Rogers as someone else stated. Very talented and was caught in a mess in Detroit. It's like a blackhole up there for football. -
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 10:24 AM) I dont even worry about that stuff when watching a comic book movie. Normally you have to suspend a tremendous amount of disbelief, I think one of the greatest qualities of Christopher Nolan is that he minimizes that as much as possible. But at the same time, it is STILL a comic book movie. I mean, if you really want to get into it,

Oh yeah, I've been wondering this. Can anyone elaborate on why they thought it was a hole?

Yeah, Wall-E was the only other movie this year that was in Batman's stratosphere. Even at that, Batman blew it away

Lebatard would be good for ATH. For PTI, it needs Kornheiser and Wilbon.

QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 09:17 AM) Right now I think if the Sox were able to "dump" Contreras, and then find a third baseman to replace Crede who would; 1 - Give you better defense than what Joe has given this season. 2 - Get on base more than either Crede or Fields Then they would look to move Fields for a young starting pitcher in the Danks mould who could become that 5th starter in the rotation. Of course that's very unlikely to happen, but I think with the Sox moving more towards finding hitters who are able to get on base more than the "all or nothing" approach, Fields may not be a fit for this team in the long - term both offensively and defensively (if he can't improve there either). Someone with better defense than Crede and better OBP than him or Fields. We're looking at bonafide All-Stars.

Rumor: Sox Amongst 9 Interested in Frederico

Sign him! -
I say we really go unorthodox. Trade our relievers for starting pitchers and go with a 9-man inning rotation. The other teams will never know what hit them. 1st - Danks 2nd - Vazquez 3rd - Buehrle 4th - Floyd 5th - Contreras 6th - Wolf 7th - Harden 8th - Burnett 9th - Bedard

Wow I didn't realize Jose actually made an ASG, but was replaced.
-
Reason why AJ didn't get picked is simply. Most players don't like AJ. I love him, but again, alot of people don't. Then Francona had to decide between him and AJ. I'm sure AJ has already made an ASG and Dioner deserves to go without a doubt, so AJ wasn't in.

LOL at Cub fans banking on getting him.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 12:06 PM) I'm not going to give up the fantasy of Brand being on the Bulls yet. You should. He's already re-upped with the Clippers. -
They'll keep BA around because of his defense and also, he's a pretty good pinch runner himself.

I'm only watching the score. We better not let them come back. When Gavin's curve is biting like I read it is, you gotta pitch for strikeouts. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 28, 2008 -> 01:01 AM) He's the best point guard I have ever seen enter the NBA. I did not mean he will start off the fastest though, that is often determined by the system you are in, your teammates, and your coach. It'd be foolish of me to just say he'll come in and put up great numbers from night one. What I meant moreso is he is the most talented PG I have ever seen enter the NBA, and once he gets his feet wet, I expect him in the all star game every year. I'd say by his third year in the league, he should be the best point guard in the league, especially since his shot should continue to improve. I definitely never said he'll be the best rookie PG I've ever seen, that'd be silly. Even Kobe Bryant only averaged 7.6 points a game as a rookie, it's just hard to project what guys will be great from night one. But it's not hard to project who will be great in general, and Rose will be. Um, Paul was much much better coming out of college. I assume you must be very very young. Paul out of high school was better than Rose out of high school. People just don't realize how much of a beast he has been for the longest. -
That's an error on Cabrera. BA would've made a triple play on that ball!
