  1. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) J Hood said that The Rockies dont want to resign Fuentes and will probably be put on waivers. On Sporting News Radio I heard Guardado's name mentioned that he'd be a guy that would pass through waivers cause of his injury and contract. Ive been high on Fuentes for a month now and this guy is good. I dont know what Guardado' contract is though. Either way, Fuentes and Guardado, both lefties, good closers. But I agree with you I'd like to see another reliever. J Hood also on Saturday that he would be suprised if Jose Conteras makes the playoff roster. Shows how much that guy knows about the White Sox despite his claims of rooting for the White Sox. He pulls so much s*** out of his ass.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) Yeah but corner OFers put a lot more torque on their legs, J.D. Drew was talking about it, that's why he pretty much only plays CF now becuase his legs are in as bad shape as Griffeys and LF/RF put more stress on your legs than CF. Then I would say Rowand would play LF and Griffey CF.
  3. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 11:17 AM) If you really want to get excited, think of all the young arms in our system. Not to mention the re-emergence of Honel. What is Honel doing in the minors?
  4. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) Interesting but there is no space for Junior. Unless maybe if we moved Dye to SS and Junior to right and Uribe as backup INF. Anyways I dont got any feelings on Bor for Bor. I wouldnt see either contrubuting that much to the Sox in September and in the playoffs. There's a spot called DH. You could put a hitter there who you don't want to play the field. Honestly if the White Sox were to get him in that deal, then I could see Griffey going to LF and Pods becoming a DH since Pods isn't so great at fielding.
  5. I wish I could say there is honest hope for this deal to go down through waivers, but it won't happen. Good call Rowand. Reds management is dumb. I'd say Griffey would make it past the Yanks and Red Sox, but there are teams like the Angels he wouldn't make it past. Also remember that the Blue Jays and Tigers want to get a payroll of over 100 million within the next couple of years. This is a move they would definately make as well.
  6. I would look over the shoulder if I were the Sox too. Didn't the A's go on a crazy streak 2 years back after the all-star break when everyone thought they were out?
  7. Crede of course. I have a huge waiting list just to join Crede's Crew. Sorry if some of you guys can't join prior to the playoffs
  8. Let's whoop their ass!!!!!!!
  9. I thought they overreacted on that too.
  10. I've always thought that he's connected with the fans quite well. I really haven't met anyone that's a fan that think he's a jackass or pompous idiot. His refusal to really deal with the media is what made the media turn him into a "bad guy."
  11. Hopefully Cotts sucess shortarming the pitch isn't the reason why Damaso or Viz does it now. Because those guys shouldn't be short arming anything.
  12. Hopefully this move doesn't come to bite us back in the ass.
  13. Sweep those damn A's.
  14. He's being mature about it. He'll be brought back up when the rosters expand IMO. Just has to do his duty down there. Maybe it gives him a chance to develop being played everyday.
  15. Rogowski for Tejada. Get it done Kenny.
  16. Contreras wouldn't be able to clear waivers. Yanks would pick him up right away. If not them, the Red Sox.
  17. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 03:01 PM) Blame the market, not the GM. I liked Kenny's only move and I think he did his absolute best to improve the ballclub. Thoughts? EDIT: Someone wanna throw a T in "Reaction?" Thanks! Upset, but like you I blame the market, not Kenny.
  18. Honestly, I also don't see anyone passing through waivers that we can get unless it's Ken Griffey Jr.
  19. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 01:49 PM) The Cardinals need to worry about the Astros. No they don't. Cardinals finally have pitching to at least matchup with Houston. Houston's offense(as hot as it is) doesn't stand a chance against the Cards. Cards would whoop our ass in the World Series. It would be very similar to Red Sox vs. Cards last year.
  20. QUOTE(whitesox89 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 11:33 AM) anyone? I'll txt you if anything major goes down.
  21. I guess this is the start of the "Blum's Bleach Bums"
  22. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 11:25 AM) He was on bbtn and said that other gm's expect Kenny to be very busy today. 2 hours 35 minutes until we find out. He was just on ESPN Deportes and said Kenny has made his big splash already and not to expect anything else
