  1. QUOTE (elamins @ Nov 28, 2012 -> 04:20 AM) Thats the thing she left so I have no way to prove myself. I guess at times she can be bossy but its not like she is telling me what to do all the time so I guess she is kinda in the middle. Im gonna give it a few days I think and see what happens cant get much worse hopefully It means she wants you to go ahead and court her again. She's going to leave the door open, but she's not going to push you through it. It's up to you though, to decide whether you want it. It will disappoint her if you don't chase her, but she'll eventually get over it. Most importantly though, if you don't think you'll be happy giving her the attention she wants, then move on as you will cause each other less pain by doing so.
  2. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 29, 2012 -> 02:19 PM) At first glance, I give the girl and the new guy 6 months to a year at most. They are at 2 completely different points in their lives. She probably has daddy issues. So with that said, I'm thinking she actually is in it for the long term. There's no way she would enter the relationship, knowing this information, and not be in it for the long haul. She won't admit what it is about him, she'll say it's just a fling, and after 6 months, she'll say it's almost been a year, even when the problems of this newfound relationship present themselves. And once she says that it's over. I have a theory, once you get to an annual anniversary number with a girl, they're going to look for more and more reasons to stay, even if they know it's not a good fit. The most common thing they latch onto is that "Well, we've been together for almost a year(6 months is not almost a year), or we've been together for almost two years(well 1 year and 1 month doesn't make almost two years) Especially girls with daddy issues. Trust me, I have met the types, and I also have dated them before. greg's friend needs to bounce and stay away because she will come back and try to be friends with the occasional hookup. It'll be way too much trouble though when she throws her problems on him.
  3. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Nov 27, 2012 -> 08:09 AM) My building has free Wifi. Would I be better off switching to Uverse for TV only? I imagine it's cheaper than Comcast. We're paying in the neighborhood of $100 for cable with HBO and Encore without DVR. Do they get the B1G Network? I know I can look this up. They do have the Big10 Network. They also have the Texas Longhorn network as well. The one I wanted was the Pac 12 network which probably won't be available until next year.
  4. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 27, 2012 -> 06:58 AM) Up until 4 years ago, I had Dish Network. Then I decided I really wanted MLB Network, so I switched to DirecTV. Their customer service was absolutely terrible. I was just waiting for another provider to pick up MLB Network. Finally U-verse did so I went to the local AT&T store to schedule an installation. They told me they couldn't get anybody out for a month. I told them they needed to find a way to do that quicker or I wouldn't switch. They insisted that they were really backed up and there was no way to do it quicker. About a week later the local cable company finally started offering MLB Network so I switched to them. So, I don't know how good U-verse is because I never actually got it, but if you can't do an install for a month that's a major red flag for me. I had working service from the cable company within 48 hours of making the initial call. Oh, and while I was switching to cable I switched my internet from AT&T to the cable company as well so that's my big middle finger to AT&T. When U-Verse first launched in the Chicagoland area(which was around that time), it did take a month to two months to get the job done. That's because it was the craze and installation, especially if you had old wiring or no wiring, took all day. Even now, unless you're available during the week, it's going to take 3-4 weeks to get an install on the weekend. If you're available during the week, it'll take about 5 days. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 27, 2012 -> 09:15 AM) HD at one tv at a time right? Not necessarily, at least not anymore. It depends on what you area's coverage is like. For example, where I'm at, I'm able to do 4 HD channels and 2 SD all at the same time. Some people only get 1 HD and 2 SD, especially if you have the older network infrastructure.
  5. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 1, 2012 -> 02:18 AM) Wouldn't mind taking a flyer on the non-tendered Jair Jurrjens, knowing we have Santiago/Quintana in case he doesn't work out. I also would take a look at him. When healthy he's a top 10 starter in the league.
  6. QUOTE (Tex @ Dec 1, 2012 -> 07:59 AM) It seems that what happens with AJ will be a nice indication of JRs and K-Dubs "gut" on the chances for next season. If they believe a playoff shot is less than 50-50, seriously why spend money on AJ? I don't believe they can backslide too much here and remain competitive. I also do not see a no AJ scenario where it would not be a backslide and the chances of Flowers being an upgrade are rather slim IMHO. I agree that Tyler probably won't be an upgrade or even play as good as AJ. I personally think he's going to be a lot worse. But I disagree when you say this move indicates Jerry and KW's gut on the state of the team going into next year. You may be able to allocate that money on a younger guy or on a 3B.
  7. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 26, 2012 -> 09:24 PM) Wow, really? I've never run across this. I have their 3mbps down and 1 up package and I consistently get pretty close to 3 down all the time. Yep, it's true. And I've had techs come out and also have scoured online at the ATT forums as well as broadbandreports and they tell me that's normal. Also, I was mistaken, IPTV takes up 75% of your bandwidth, not 25%.
  8. Wow, they blew a game they were up by 27. I think it's on Thibs for not resting the starters when they were up 27. I mean Noah still played 39 minutes and Deng 48. Butler only played 12. Inexcusable. And that last play that was drawn up was crap.
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 26, 2012 -> 05:47 PM) Yeah, I was thinking of what I'd do without the ability to go watch the Sox in person. Driving to Dallas or Houston for that many hours kind of sucks. And honestly, I'm a fairly liberal person. But from everything I hear, Austin is about as liberal as you can get in a southern state. Especially Texas. I'd go with Austin. I rather deal with heat to be honest. Plus, you don't have to deal with crooked city politics as well as state politics, and a huge rising cost of living. Plus, being in the tech industry, it's always best to move towards where those tech companies are prominent.
  10. Their tv is excellent. DVR system is snappy and works great. Wireless receiver is great. All NBA League Pass games are in HD for me. They have a ton of channels and a lot of HD channels at that. U300, is which I have, includes all movie channels minus HBO and Cinemax, but I got a free promo for 6 months from them. The good thing, they usually have a ton of promos and previews like getting HBO for a free trial period which new customers are eligible for. Their internet, well, sucks. Speeds depend on how far your node is supposedly as they don't do Fiber to the house. My node is 10 feet from my doorstep and I have their highest cable package which is 24 down. With headers and all that taken into account, I get about 1.2mbps of actual download speed at best. Compare that to WOW in which I got 2mbps solid and up to 2.5 while having their 15mbps cable internet package. Xfinity also blows their internet out of the water as well. Also, you have to use their gateway which sucks IMO, and since you have IPTV, that takes up 25% of your bandwidth. If you're watching tv, and someone else is streaming, you can forget about downloading a file or even streaming youtube.
  11. I thought Shump tore his ACL and MCL. Either way, He did indeed have his surgery right away. Rose waited for the swelling to go down to get the surgery. There's not really any strong proof that I have seen so far which proves which method is better.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 26, 2012 -> 08:31 PM) I don't know I'd ever have described that SD team under him as great. The offense maybe, but now their line is terrible and they've lost all their playmakers. It was when he first got there. I mean, didn't he take them to an AFC championship game and lost in New England. Maybe that was the 2nd round, but he put up quite a fight, even without LT playing. And I think it was two years in a row. Turner, though, is moreso an offensive coordinator, and a great one at that. He's like the Dick LeBeau of offense.
  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 10:35 PM) I'll pass judgement, he was checking down the entire time for no damn reason. When you sit from the sidelines like we do and see how Cutler is getting killed, yes you will be jumpy and try to hit your checkdowns right away.
  14. QUOTE (Felix @ Nov 10, 2012 -> 10:56 PM) Nate Robinson has a career AST% of 20.9... that's far from a "pretty good rate" for a point guard. In fact, it's pretty godawful. Admittedly his rate this season is better than that (*cough* sample size), and his rate last season (31.8) was at least serviceable, but let's not pretend he's a good distributor. He's a 5'9" shoot-first point guard, except historically he hasn't shot very well (career 52.3 TS%, which is pretty much average). He had a pretty good second half tonight because he was able to stay in control and not get too caught up in the fact that he was making a couple of jump shots. That's about it, though. His assists per 36 minutes has been over 7 and is at 7.9 this year. Yes, that's a pretty damn good clip, especially considering he's never been playing primarily with starters, but rather bench players. And when he's come into games, he's usually the best scorer on the floor for his team, so of course, for the most part, he's going to volume shoot. He takes maybe 1 or 2 shots out of the offense. Nothing more.
  15. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 09:23 AM) Seriously? He's average to below average in CF. He's 28. That's not young. I'm not sure what's wrong with any of those statements. I was responding to a post stating, "I don't know why you'd move De Aza." I like De Aza, but I'd move him in a second if we had an impact player to replace him. He's injury prone. He doesn't suck. There's differences. You make it sound like he plays a bad CF which he doesn't do anything close to. For that, see Rob Mackowiak.
  16. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Nov 10, 2012 -> 10:09 PM) eh? He's averaging 4.6 assists in 21 minutes of play. He also shot 8/14 today. Turnovers were his problem. Carlos Boozer 0-5 in 26 minutes of play and a defensive turnstyle. Get mad at him. He's giving us scrub like numbers while pulling down a Karl Malone-like salary. This exactly. Nate actually racks up assists at a pretty good rate, but his problems have always been turnovers. He has a good sense when he's on and when he's off. Boozer has been much better this year, but he must get used to being the man every game. BTW, if Phil takes over, I think that's worse for Nash and Dwight than the Princeton which was actually working great. Their defense is what's been horrible. Princeton helps distribute the ball evenly and get everyone involved. That's what this Lakers team needs so no one cries about not getting the ball. Plus it helps Kobe shoot at a very efficient clip and Dwight get the ball in much better position.
  17. Lots of Kool-Aid drinking around here. Top 5 teams are: Atlanta Houston SF Chicago Green Bay
  18. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 10:01 PM) Didn't watch the game huh? Russel Westbrook was derping throughout that entire game...being an awful PG, not creating opportunities for teammates and continually taking bad shots that weren't going in. Durant has nothing to do with what a dumb ass Westbrook is Westbrook has a pretty good bball iq, but since he plays PG, it doesn't show as much because he's only played SG everywhere else. Either way, it amazes me how much of a pass Durant gets considering he's a dominant scorer who never calls for the ball. He should though. Durant has the skill, but Westbrook at least has the balls on that team.
  19. I think Youk would be the best option as they need someone who has power, but more importantly can get on base. I'm hoping after a full offseason with the team, he can come back to his normal self next year.
  20. Honestly, I think Martin is better. He's more athletic, doesn't depend on flopping to get to the free throw line, and has proven to be a good lead scorer if need be. He suffered alot in McHale's system. I bet his advanced numbers end up being better this year.
  21. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 23, 2012 -> 05:43 PM) So you're saying that you don't ever want to future-proof yourself and just buy whatever fits right now? That's called being a horrible consumer. I don't know if I call that being a horrible consumer. To someone who has an iPad 3 or the original new iPad, it doesn't make sense to make the jump to the newer new iPad. Now if you're choosing between the iPad 3 and iPad 4 and you have neither, then you should buy the iPad 4 and that would make you a horrible consumer. And the Galaxy Note II > iPad Mini.
  22. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 10:39 AM) Open Court is a great show Agreed. To me, the most knowledgeable are Chris Webber and Steve Kerr. Steve Smith is up there as well, but the rest are goofballs.
  23. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 15, 2012 -> 09:16 PM) I don't want a dissertation, I want four numbers. A dissertation? It's simple, name a year other than 2005. The fact that you already mentioned you like pretty much every year proves to me, you'll always be more of a fan of Ozzie than you are of the White Sox.
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 7, 2012 -> 01:53 PM) While I agree managers get too much credit and too much blame, you must realize Ozzie did something in the 05 postseason that was kind of groundbreaking. He had the balls to leave in his starting pitchers in the games; had that not worked, people would have wanted his butt run out of town. There was no mixing or matching of bulls*** lefty/righty stuff. He left our starters in the games. This is one of your weaker arguments greg. He left the starters in? Um, there was only one game in which our starters struggled. They dominated the rest of that postseason. Pinch hitting Geoff Blum is a better argument, and even then, that's pretty weak.
