  1. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 04:29 PM) Yeah, I'd rather have Hinrich than Lee. Lee is not that good. I wanted Mayo as a project player but Lee is no kind of answer for us, long term or short term. He's just gonna stand on the perimeter and wait for someone to toss him the ball just like a younger version of Bogans. Not a fan of his game. Not a Lee fan as well, and I love Mayo. With that said, Lee would fit alot more to what the Bulls needed over Kirk Hinrich. Kirk Hinrich just dribbles the ball underneath the basket, then puts up a bad shot at the FT line or passes it to someone else for a bad shot. Lee has size, can shoot the three ball and is a better defender, right now, than KH. Either way, us Bulls fans lost again.
  2. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 08:17 AM) That list by Jaws is awful. Joe Flacco at 7. Matt Stafford should probably be in the top 5. Disagree. Flacco is fine at 7. Stafford definitely is not top 5 though and I loved him coming out of college. He had one good year, not great. And that's because of Megatron.
  3. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 07:35 PM) I don't really care about the rest, just use an actual stat instead of your own random, flawed qualifier that doesn't prove anything, especially when it's not even accurate. True shooting percentage would make far more sense, but then it would prove that he wasn't a scoring god. Ben Gordon was not more efficient scoring that year than Chris Paul just because Chris took .1 more shots, especially since he scored 2 more points. Points don't magically stop counting after 20, so don't pretend that they do. He was a good scorer, but not anywhere near top of the league good. How is it a flawed qualifier? The biggest complaints about Gordon are that he didn't play defense(which 82games.com can dispell) and that he was a ballhog who just jacked up shots. I'm sorry, but FGA as well as FGM along with eFG% and TS% all prove that Gordon wasn't ballhogging. He was taking shots he could make. And if the stat fits, then yes, he was more efficient at scoring. Not saying he's a better player, but Ben definitely was great at scoring. And I've never said points don't stop counting after 20. But he didn't take nearly enough shots to average 30. I'm arguing that he was damn good at scoring for the amount of shots he took, and all the attempts, despite popular opinion, that he was a chucker is just flat out wrong. If Ben Gordon was a chucker, well goddamn, maybe I'm understanding the sport wrong.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 09:49 AM) Everything I've read suggests the bulls fully intend to extend Gibson? They won't be able to if they plan on signing a big FA in 2014 if they match Asik, which everyone has said, they definitely will. Asik will start at 5 million, which won't be bad, but then in his 3rd year, he'll see a huge pay increase. Deng will probably be re-signed, you have that FA they want to go after (i.e. Kevin Love) and you'll be tapped out. You have to give somewhere, especially with the Bulls not wanting to go into the deep luxury tax. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 12:07 PM) http://espn.go.com/nba/truehoop/miamiheat/...guard-ray-allen Isn't that tampering? I thought it was too. QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 12:11 PM) I believe it's only tampering if management is doing the recruiting. It's the same thing that got the Heat together in the first place. Wade did the recruiting, but as long as Riley or other front office people weren't involved, it's all ok. But technically, isn't that still tampering because as I understood it, if a member of one organization speaks to a player of another organization, before they are a free agent, it is tampering. This is two players doing exactly that.
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 01:04 PM) Hm, I might be wrong on 5th. The first two were the Tim Burton ones, those were good (first one was great). Then there was a Val Kilmer one, and a George Clooney one... yeah, you're right, there wasn't another one there before Nolan. Change what I said to be "3rd and 4th". Those were terrible. There's Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin. Then there's the cartoon animated one and apparently a 60's version as well.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 1, 2012 -> 08:43 AM) <!--quoteo(post=2587847:date=May 1, 2012 -> 08:32 AM:name=onedude)-->QUOTE (onedude @ May 1, 2012 -> 08:32 AM) <!--quotec--> Well, I'm now 100% certain they did it and went with the broken bat storyline. Not surprising, obviously. I am pumped - Hathaway seemed normal there. I'm not so sure that JGL will don the cape, but we shall see! Based off of the toys they have started selling for this movie, I think he will.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 27, 2012 -> 04:58 PM) But that would have required the Bulls take on $12 million in additional salary for the 2013/2014 season. Right when Gibson needs extended. According to KC Johnson, who is the Bulls' mouthpiece, Gibson probably wouldn't be extended since they have a 2014 FA plan, as if 2000, 2006, and 2010 weren't enough FA failures. If Asik gets extended, then Gibson is as good as gone anyway. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 27, 2012 -> 06:58 PM) Will you quit bringing up that awful stat about the 20 point average? Why in god's name would you completely ignore that many of those players scored considerably more than 20 points? It's not even accurate, Paul Pierce and Devin Harris both averaged at least 20 PPG while taking fewer shots than Gordon the last time he did it. He finished the season top 5 still. And how is it awful when people try to bring up that he's a ballhog who just jacks up shots, left and right, when it couldn't be further from the truth? Or should I no longer bring up relevant stats to a discussion. His PER that year was at an even 17.0, his eFG% was 52.1% and his TS% was 57.3. He also was good for 6.9 wins that year. Oh wait, I remember why the hate for Ben. Because many Bulls fans stupidly believed that any shot Gordon took was taking the ball out of Rose's hands and that a team full of guys just taking open jumpshots after Rose has touched the ball on the possession is a championship team, similar to LeBron's Cavs. Welp, until this year, when they realize that Rose needs serious offensive help. Then again, there are still those people out there to this day.
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 10:18 AM) If Meyers learns to stay in the post and be physical, he has immense upside. His ability to block shots alone will keep him in the NBA for quite a while. Being a 7 footer that can run and jump is a pretty hot commodity and the fact that Meyers has some back-to-the-basket game and a jumper that he might make when left open made him into a good late lottery pick. Eh, I think he'll be a next O'Bryant from Bradley. OJ Mayo is not getting the qualifying offer. Bulls will still get Hinrich over him.
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 10:38 PM) I don't, really. He got so frustrating to watch giving up point after point on defense and then heaving up shots to try to make up for it. He sometimes did, but against good teams he would be fully exploited playing defense and couldn't get a good look on offense. Except, that really didn't happen his last few years here. Or do I have to bring out the 82games stats for defense as well as the fact that Ben had the 2nd least shot attempts for someone averaging 20ppg his last year here. He was only 2nd in the league to Dwight Howard. But continue on with your bias...I think I have a good Ben debate in here with me. BTW, even if the Bulls didn't want Ben who is better than Korver and Brewer, that draft pick would've been worth it as they need to stockpile assets and get rid of deadweight.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 31, 2012 -> 05:49 PM) You know, I really don't think the capacity of the stadium is the main factor here. I think the big deal is the extra stuff outside the stadium. When I went to the 02 superbowl in NO, there was so much stuff to do outside of the Superdome it was silly. Then you add in Bourbon street? Sold. In Chicago it isn't going to be like that. Sure, there is stuff to do, bars, restaurants, etc. But it isn't as if people can go walk around wrigleyville when there is a decent possibility that 12 inches of snow will be on the ground or coming down. There isn't going to be outside concerts and things like that. I don't see it happening. How do you explain NY getting it then? How about Indy or Detroit?
  11. You know Mr Machismo, Jay Lethal is going in there.
  12. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 08:04 PM) um... no. it takes an hour to drive from santa monica to hollywood last time i was there. traffic is so damn bad. NYC i give myself an hour to get from my apartment to anywhere I want to be. That includes walking to the train, and from the train to where i'm going. But if I'm going to certain areas it only take 15-25 minutes. From 181st to 59th takes me literally 20 minutes. 22ish to 42nd. 25 to 34th. Way, way more convenient than sitting in bloody traffic. EDIT: i don't remember so my santa monica to hollywood may be BS. but it was definitely an hour from Loyola Marymounts campus to one of those two. lol You must only hang in one burrough then. For anywhere that's not by your apartment, it takes more than 20 minutes to get there unless you live right next to the train stop and the places you go are right off the train stop. As far as Chicago, if you're talking about taking 57, that's true. But Chicago isn't setup like LA at all. Everything is central here. So if you're coming from 181st, you'll never see traffic until you get into the inner city. And once you do, traffic is bad. Worse than LA bad, and that's been proven in studies. And Santa Monica to Hollywood never takes an hour, even in rain, in which no one in LA doesn't know how to drive. Sidenote, did I mention how I hate that no one in Chicago seems to use a signal light for anything, and when you beep at them for not turning it on, they don't understand why you're beeping? And it's not just once a day. I say, 80% of drivers(this is from driving from Naperville, Orland Park, Chicago, up to Roosevelt and everywhere in between) do not use their turn signals unless they are literally getting off the ramp.
  13. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 19, 2012 -> 09:57 AM) That's what I've wondered, at least with TalkBulls. TalkBears seems to do fine on it's own, but TalkBulls just dies. You need to link any discussion threads on here to forward you over to that website. I think that would help big time.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 04:23 PM) That's ridiculous. It was a 9 point game which is nothing in the NBA. Besides, taking him out there and thinking that will make him OK for the rest of the playoffs is beyond laughable, and Rose hasn't been playing much lately. Getting him some extra minutes could be good for his wind. I think he's probably done this year, just because he can put weight on it doesn't mean its totally screwed up, but I don't blame Thibs one bit. It was going to happen sometime soon. Magic Johnson even defended Thibs. They wanted to send a message to Philadelphia. That, they did.
  15. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 03:58 AM) As a tourist, LA is a nightmare to get around compared to New York. I love New York simply for the fact you can probably get to where you want to go within 30 mins. Compare that to other major cities in the world such as London etc. and it's not possible. Eh, that's not true. Unless the place is blocks from your house, or rather apartment, you're not getting there in 30 minutes. It's like LA. A ton of things are spread out. In NY, you can do stuff in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, etc. In LA, I can do stuff in downtown LA, The Grove, Santa Monica, Hollywood/West Hollywood, Studio City, etc.
  16. Happy Birthday.
  17. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 09:56 AM) are you kidding me? LA is terrible. Miami even worse. and Y2HH you have no idea what you're talking about. I'm pretty sure your opinions are based off tv shows. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 01:52 PM) My order would be: Vacation: New York >>>>> Los Angeles > Chicago >>>>> Miami Live: Chicago >>>>>>> Los Angeles > New York >>>>>> Miami QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 02:11 PM) Does the "Living" list take into account the odds of the entire area being destroyed in a natural disaster? How is LA terrible? Beautiful women, beautiful weather. You have a metropolis with a beach and mountains all combined into one. And I dare someone else to say traffic as some of you have mentioned. You do realize Chicago and Washington DC tied with the worst traffic congestion in the nation, right? LA is third. So if you deal with Chicago traffic, you should be able to deal with LA traffic. Housing is the only negative, which brings the cost of living up in LA much much higher. Everything else is pretty much average in terms of taxes and such. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...1012000056.html And being destroyed by a natural disaster? Really? Is that how we're going to disprove living somewhere? Anything can happen anywhere at anytime. We had the Great Chicago Fire. Midwest as a whole has tornados. We've also had flooding. The south/southeast has hurricanes, the east also gets hurricanes, and a snowstorm can wipe you out days at a time. In terms of big cities, LA is the winner.
  18. Los Angeles > Miami > NYC > Chicago. If you're taking a vacation. If you want to live there it goes Los Angeles > Chicago > NYC > Miami
  19. I'm in agreement. Booing him does nothing good. He definitely puts the effort. He's not an ahole to his teammates or fans. Booing him accomplishes nothing positive or anyone else for that matter. If you booed Rios before, you'd have a reason. If you booed Carlos Lee before, you have a reason.
  20. Going to Extreme Rules with my nephew. Silly kid doesn't know it's okay to root for the "bad" guys. He loves Punk, but loves Cena more.
  21. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 12:25 AM) this is an entirely accurate statement. Even Miami heat games are bad attendance-wise. Sports outside of football don't seem to catch on in the south. also to be fair the attendance was listed at 30,169. Not too shabby for Miami but 7k short of a full house. The Heat don't draw well, especially for a team with 2 of the top 5 players in the league and another arguably top 15 player. I mean, that team is a championship contender year in and year out. In Miami, everyone is about party first, then make plans around that. They work their 9-5, and then plan to go out around 9 or 10. If the Heat game starts at 6, they'll go there until the party at Mansion or Liv starts. Same goes for every other sport minus football, but even attendance has weaken for the Dolphins and for the U. The people down there who actually want to go to games can't afford it. Their ticket prices are completely jacked up. In Miami, there's Rich and there's Poor. No in between.
  22. From what I know, it's fake. Confirmed, Cat Woman is going to be wearing goggles and I heard she won't have a gun.
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 21, 2012 -> 08:02 PM) I remember seeing Darius Miles play and figured he was can't miss in NBA. Oops I think he was just a late bloomer who had his career ended by injuries. Nowadays, and not just in basketball, but a ton of sports, if you don't show greatness off the bat, people are quick to write you off.
  24. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 21, 2012 -> 01:17 PM) I'm still kinda shocked he turned them down. An extra million a year and more national exposure? No one talks about VCU until the tournament, and that could have easily changed this year if they had lost to Wichita State in the first round. I think both he and Stevens are making big mistakes. Gonzaga and Few worked out because the west coast blows for college basketball. He made a mid-major a "major" program because he was able to carve out a decent niche for recruiting. I don't see Butler or VCU being able to do that. I'd love Grant, who apparently isn't interested. I'd love Stevens(#1 choice), but his buyout won't come from Illinois. Theus would be next in line.
  25. What dealership code? I was interested in trading in my car. Obviously, I know I wouldn't get the same deal, but I wanted to take a look at some different dealerships.
