  1. Thought this was for the dead brackets club not the people who are still alive.
  2. Good games going on in this bracket, purdue and florida tied, unlv up on wisconsin practically whole game but now only by two.
  3. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Mar 18, 2007 -> 02:23 PM) I'm really pissed I changed my UNLV to the sweet sixteen to GT. DAMNIT I did the same dont feel bad. I kept hearing all the good things from my cousin bout Tech so I switched.
  4. QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 18, 2007 -> 01:47 PM) CBS or whom ever believes that Purdue has a bigger following than Wisconsin up here in Lake County. I bet some people are peeved. I dont think we will have to worry SIU will be broadcasted throughout current set of games, if purdue keeps it close then we might be back there to see that game end. Same with UNLV and Wisc
  5. Tenn is heating up. They just cant stop Reynolds of Virginia, doing a nice job however of guarding singeltary.
  6. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Mar 17, 2007 -> 05:42 PM) I might you suggest looking into a guy like Broxton instead of Borowski or Jones. Neither of those guys will have a very low era or high strikeouts. You already have a ton of saves so there really is no need to start 5 closers. Substituting a low era/whip and high K setup man could be a lot more beneficial. well yeah actually i was gonna try to trade jones and borowski for a better closer and pick up a stud reliever but i think ill see if my sheets trade goes through.
  7. Damnit maryland you ruined my perfection tonight, all i can say is UNLV plz win so my georgia tech pick doesnt cost me and purdue plz beat florida cause i dont have them final four. that would be awesome
  8. ive only lost 3 swt 16 (for soxtalk pool), i have all my elite eight remaining and final four and so forth in money league ive lost only 2 swt 16.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 17, 2007 -> 12:06 PM) Well in Soxtalk League 1 for example Chase Utley went in the top 5 but Crawford fell to the mid second round where I grabbed him, I drafted Zambrano in the mid 3rd round and Brandon Webb ended up going in the early 5th. So it's not totally out of the question, you just need a little luck and a few odd picks ahead of you. Speaking of luck heres what I did with a 10 man league 5x5 C Jorge Posada 1B Paul Konerko 2B Rickie Weeks 3B Garret Atkins SS Rafael Furcal OF Carlos Beltran OF Vernon Wells OF Jason Bay UTIL Travis Hafner BN Gary Sheffield BN Felipe Lopez BN Chris Duncan BN Alex Gordon SP John Smoltz SP Chien Mien Wang RP Trevor Hoffman RP JJ Putz P Todd Jones P Joe Borowski P Takashi Saito BN Curt Schilling BN Brett Myers Injury prone yes? What im worried about, cause Bay, Sheff, Weeks, and Beltran are all capable of hitting the DL which would ruin my hitting but Im not too worried about it. Pitchin is solid, I actually am about to accept a deal of me getting Ben Sheets, giving up Putz and Duncan, will help my pitching. I think i can pull off a trade of Jones to guy who has zumaya. I like my balance though and SPs are consistent year in year out.
  10. QUOTE(Reddy @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 08:50 AM) C- AJ Pierzynski 1B - Prince Fielder 2B - Dan Uggla 3B - Chad Tracy SS - Freddy Sanchez OF - Vlad Guerrero OF - Jermaine Dye OF - Adam Dunn Util - Travis Hafner BN - Jorge Cantu SP - Brandon Webb SP - John Lackey RP - Todd Jones RP - Joe Borowski P - Ben Sheets P - Eric Bedard P - Jose Contreras BN - Mark Buehrle BN - Kelvim Escobar BN - Jonathon Broxton BN - Taylor Tankersly Your team is solid, jones and borowski could be scary in closers position, both generally struggle and have a younger guy to salvage their spot if both teams need it. I like your starters besides for buehrle. Batting is great lots of power not much in speed but its overrated. Keep an eye on zumaya
  11. Georgetown Ohio St Oregon Pitt GTown is your champ.
  12. SIU is really set up well for a long run in the tourney, they have good positioning.
  13. NC St is done, UNC is up seven with 50 left
  14. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 12:27 PM) Drexel has losses to RIDER AND WILLIAM & MARY. Illini's worst loss @ Iowa. They do have 14 road wins, but c'mon. 50% of those are against RPI 150+. I am not discrediting their wins @ Nova, Cuse, and Creighton...but those 14 road wins are largely overstated. I'm not really sure why I chose to pick on Drexel, I do think they should be in. Also, why does it seem to be consensus that Purdue is in and Illinois is out. Illini and Purdue will both be in, some people put Purdue in for sure over Illinois because they think head to head makes a big difference in decision making which it doesnt. Heres my take: Drexel - IN Illinois - IN Purdue - IN Kansas State - OUT Old Dominion - OUT Florida State - OUT Stanford - OUT Air Force - OUT WVU - IN
  15. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 10, 2007 -> 05:52 PM) Team #1. I drafted 6th and in a 12 team league. C - Victor Martinez (4th round) 1B - Prince Fielder (10th round) 2B - Brian Roberts (5th round) 3B - Alex Rodriguez (1st round) SS - Jimmy Rollins (3rd round) OF - Carl Crawford (2nd round) OF - Delmon Young (9th round) OF - Barry Bonds (16th round) UTIL - Jim Thome (7th round) SP - Felix Hernandez (6th round) SP - C.C Sabathia (8th round) SP - Chris Capuano (11th round) SP - Daniel Cabrera (17th round) SP - Scott Olsen (18th round) RP - Eric Gagne (12th round) RP - Jason Isringhausen (13th round) RP - Octavio Dotel (14th round) BENCH - Mark Teahen (15th round) BENCH - Chuck James (19th round) BENCH - Joel Pineiro (20th round) BENCH - Corey Hart (21st round) Nicely balanced team, speed and power, really important. Pitching would probably be the weaker part of your team but you have lots of upside. I love the Teahen pick, Ive found 3B to be a weak spot in the draft and Ill either take him or Crede as my third basemen, hes bound to put up bigger numbers. Bonds is also a great fantasy pick regardless of what others say. Whos corey hart? Nicely done, although Ive heard Timlin so far wins the closer spot position but just a rumor.
  16. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 01:37 PM) I too am not a fan of your SP. Harden and a trio of 40 year olds could hit the fan really quickly. Love your offense. Alou is the only weak spot imo, but how many teams really are complete 1-9? Not many. Kinsler's gonna have a big year IMO. My hitting is solid, no worries there for me I have almost all stats covered. Pitching could be problem, saves shouldnt be a problem, and everyone knows free agency is always good to find that gem pitcher that comes out of nowhere which is my plan.
  17. My relievers is my strength, ive got saves era and whip in a lock if they perform, and my hitting if you saw the stat lineup is almost perfect. Appreciate the second opinion.
  18. Michigan when they had Webber, least I dont think they won.
  19. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 03:06 PM) I've been drinking the black and white kool-aid and although it's colorless, it packs a powerful punch and has left me with a vivid representation of the season to come. Sox win the central 96-66 We catch a bit of a scare in the opening round of the playoffs going 5 games with Anaheim. We dispose of Boston in 4, who was coming off a 5 game series of their own with Cleveland. (sidenote: With Boston out of contention and NY failing to make the playoffs, ESPN cancels it's baseball coverage.) We beat Philly in 6 for the championship!! Not quite an 11-1 post season run, but a dramatic World Series nonetheless. Some good story lines emerge with the trades between these two teams the last couple of years. Freddy isn't "Big Game" in his 2 starts against the Sox. Thome, on the other hand, comes up huge to claim his first world series championship. Combine that with his 500th homer, which he will also get this year, and he has earned his ticket to the hall. Going out on a limb lol I like it, Philly has a tough decision to get out of though.
  20. Feel free to post yours, ill start. 21. No deal, Vazquez although he might put up better numbers they wont be too extraordinary being in the cell and all. Cuddyers season was a fluke in my opinion.
