  1. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 12:57 PM) f***ING OWNED!!!!!! you made that comment WAY to early in this game
  2. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 12:55 PM) All you people fantasizing about Verlander or Bonderman please tell me what they have won besides a few regular season games? When they beat someone in the playoffs and win a game that truly means something then you can come to me and talk about how great they are. well, lets see, seeing that verlander and bonderman have never had the chance to pitch in the post-season, its pretty hard to use that against them however, verlanders 98 mph fastball, his 82 mph changeup and his bobbyjenks yellow-hammer, compare well with freddys 87 mph fastball.
  3. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 12:51 PM) No. Im happy with what we have. i hope you are joking here.
  4. I GOT YOU BEAT!!!! heres the myspace of the blonde girl from the punchAJ campaign http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...iendid=21786133
  5. ok, its not just the signing of Dye that was important, THANK GOD FOR THAT THIRD YEAR OPTION!!!!!!!
  6. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 10:57 AM) I don't think those guys had the best offense in baseball behind them. They weren't traded for a young stud and another decent reliever as well. And they sure as hell weren't making 10.5 million dollars. Sorry, try again. STOP BRINGING UP MONEY! we spent the money, we had the money to spend, and if you sit back right now and you have that 8 million dollars back in your pocket and BMAC in, what is that magical move you are going to make with that extra money? Did you want to sign Bobby Howry instead? Would that be the magical signing that makes us the perfect team, or are you just upset because you wanted Jerry to keep that 10 million in his pocket this year?
  7. Sox fans are so weird. Our centerfielder is hitting .180 and yet I dont know a single fan out there that wants him benched (myself included). Javy is 9-4 and hes got at least 3 threads. I know that there is no feasible replacement for Anderson (no more Mack in CF) and that lots of people on this board want Bmac in instead of Vazquez....but still, Javy has looked mediocre but Brian Anderson might have the lowest batting average in the last 20 years for a starter at the all-star game. YOU MUST ALL HATE PUERTO RICANS!!!
  8. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 05:12 PM) If the AL loses, it won't be because Liriano wasn't there. I know that Kenny Rogers isnt particularly intimidating, but seeing that the last 4 innings the AL will throw, Ryan, Jenks, Papelbon and Rivera (or at least thats what oz suggested) I just dont see how they lose. And I really dont think Tom Glavine is any more intimidating. The only thing that scares me is that Zito can be such a s*** pitcher in his first inning of work.
  9. First of all. AWESOME! second of all, someone post that link to the twins message board!!!!
  10. cubs fans are putting this on their own blog... ...Sox AAA probably has more talent than the Cubs right now. I'm just saying.
  11. So is this going to be Neal's role as long as he's in a white sox uniform, or do people think that he will be moved back to starting in 2007 or 2008? It seemed so certain that he would be a starter two years ago, but now...
  12. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 4, 2006 -> 04:09 PM) BA making solid contact on everything. Good to see. yeah, its so strange, his average is still so low but i really dont think that anyone on this board has lost confidence in him. he will be a fine everyday major leaguer.
  13. yeah, nice work on the research there. thats some commitment.
  14. I really think its going to be AJ and Liriano battling it out. Either way, we win. Liriano would help us win the game and AJ would be #7 or #8 (depending on suckemup joe)
  15. QUOTE(Twins Win @ Jul 4, 2006 -> 11:03 AM) I would just like to make a couple points. Every forum including the Twins one I'm active in has negative posters. There are even some negative now about the Twins and Mauer over there. The Twins are not the same team they were at the beginning. Personally I thought Liriano should have started at the beginning of the season and that Kubel should have also been a starter for my beloved Twins at the start of the season. There have also been other changes. I really don't see them falling apart. They started this streak with a sweep of the Red Sox. Yes they did play a lot of games with the crappy NL Central but if you look at most of those scores the games were not close. As for Liriano. I've followed this kid pretty heavily since last season. Myself along with a lot of other people believe that he is the best pitcher on the Twin's staff. Read comments about him from batters after the game. They're unable to pickup his pitches, they all look the same. The true test will come when he starts facing teams for the second time. Then we'll see just how good this kid is. He leads the ML in era with a 1.99 era. It doesn't get much better than that. With that all being said, I'm looking forward to an exciting finish in this division. July 24-26 will be a fun series and I personally can't wait. Until then good luck to the Sox. I have a huge man crush on Liriano, but I do think hes the best pitcher in the league. Your management may have cost you that playoff spot with stupid decisions involving Liriano, Lohse, Kubel, Batista and Rondell White. That, you should be negative about.
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 04:40 PM) Ahh dh. yeah, i feel like thome was on a hotspell and we lost 2 games of it
  17. Anyone else feel that Chris Stewart should back up AJ next year?
  18. this Giambi stuff is ridiculous. Konerko was on the world championship team, his manger is now the all-star manager, hes always going to be selected in that situation. Torre would do the same if the numbers and situations were reversed. Lets take the drug-free selection here.
  19. Well, Liriano is the toughest all-star question Ive ever seen. Theres no doubt in my mind that hes better than Beurhle, hes already pitched in relief this season, he may be the best pitcher in baseball right now. But seriously, Beurhle is the workhouse of the World Champions, Liriano only started 1/2 of the first half of the season, and he has yet to throw in a single meaningful game. For traditions sake, Id take Beurhle, but for the better chance to win, Id do whatever I could to get Liriano and Verlander in the game. But seriously, arent we all glad that Mark Redman is getting the respect he deserves, FINALLY!
  20. First up, sox trade Cliff Politte for Robbie Alomar and Carl Everett
  21. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 05:02 PM) That would have to be some serious "young pitching" yeah, how about boone logan and arnie munoz? we will even throw in wes whisler if they want to bargain hard.
  22. yeah i know, its a rumor from the chubs blog, which also claims the cubs are going to get Arod. but its better than talking about cliff politte "This same source told me that the White Sox are "close" to acquiring Andruw Jones from the Braves; the price would be Brian Anderson and young pitching. That deal would also make sense for both sides."
  23. Flash is winning the lottery tonight. NO CHANCE that politte is on this team tomorrow.
  24. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 02:30 PM) We're 53-27. Get off the ledge. yeah, and i love being in second place too.
