  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) Help is not on the way. KW is going to sit on his hands this year. The last few years, he trades everything for Everett and Alomar. This year when we actually have a chance at doing something, we dont trade because god forbid we trade a good prospect. He might be good like Borchard one day. Now our pitchers got a great message, pitch the game of your life and we will whimper out like a fart trying to swing for the fences. They dont need bats, with their swings they need Tigers driver. FORE!!!!!!!!!!! Timo Perez is our answer because he f***ing brought in some nasty panties. You guys ALL STFU! You guys are all damn weak. Damn, we are still 7 games up on the Indians, and here you are talking about dumping the Sox; season is over; KW isn't going to do anything, etc... Tomorrow is the new season, a 40-game season, and we are 7 GAMES UP on the Indians. I love our chances, wouldn't you? Stand up and march on! Stop your WHINING...
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) If we keep this offense the rest of the way, KW should be fired, and not Walker. This offense just doesn't have enough, especially against tough pitchers you'd face IF you make the playoffs. Fathom, I don't get it? Why KW should be fired? Who is he going to trade for now? The players only have themselves to blame if this team actually collapse. You whine too much man. Calm down man. Think of it this way. Tomorrow is the brand new 40-game season, and the Sox have 7 games up on the Indians. I take our chances, wouldn't you? Ask all of the Indians fans to see which they would choose.
  3. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Aug 20, 2005 -> 01:27 PM) Luckily I am leaving the house in 10 minutes, what the hell was Iguchi doing, catch the ball. It's not Iguchi's fault. It's El Duque's error. Why didn't he go to third instead of 2nd? Man, we are really playing terribly right now. I'm afraid WSoxMatt is correct with the way we've been hitting! Damn!!! You know what's scary! Don't even think about the playoff. We might not even make it now with the way we've been playing.
  4. QUOTE(letsgoarow @ Aug 20, 2005 -> 01:19 PM) now im hungover and pissed off WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH TIMO & OZZIE? WITH MEN ON 1ST AND 2ND 0 OUTS, TIMO CAN'T EVEN BUNT THEM OVER. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON? NOW I'M REALLY PISSED AT OZZIE AND THE CAN-NO-LONGER-BE-ON-THE-TEAM TIMO!!!
  5. QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) in fact i bet we get swept by the yankees and go into the baggy dome with our tales between our legs. many cub fans are mocking me saying we are the repeat of the '69 Cubs. And sadly im starting to be scared that something like that can happen. cmon, show some stones. have faith. don't tell me we sox fans are becoming wimps and giving up. Goddamn it! Who give the f*** about the Cubs fans laughing at you OR me! You are so damn childish to think about the Cubs fans mocking us. Get a hold of yourself. We will be right back winning again. Guarantee!
  6. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) he wants a contract identical to the #4 pick last year? He's the #4 pick this year. That makes sense to me. . . . The Bears NEVER cough up the dough for anything, what else was Jerry The Moron gonna spend this money on? Im so sick of this. I hate being a Bears fan, they are idiots. DukeNukeEM, Do you know what you are blabbering about? The Bears have acquired quite number of free agents for the past few years. I say, "f*** Benson! A greed will always be a greed. Let him sit out for a year collecting nothing and lose all of the money. Let him go back to next year draft and see where he is going to be picked. He won't be picked 4th next year, especially with Leinart and Ferguson will be in the draft. If you hate being a Bears fan, DON'T BE. WHO NEEDS YOU? At some point in your life, you have to make a stand, and this is it. I won't give a penny more to the goddamned greed and his agent. Let him go play somewhere else.
  7. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) Doesn't have to make sense. Williams will shoulder blame regardless of the trade market. You think Mariotti will take into consideration the asking price of Tampa Bay or Cincinnati? Or the remainder of the Chicago media? Does anyone besides hardcore Sox fans such as ourselves realize the asking prides of several coveted players on the market? What is known is Williams big move on the market, when it was obvious the offense was in need of an upgrade, was Geoff Blum. Whom, by the way, hasn't contributed s***. I won't blame Williams. I never meant to suggest as much. But he will be criticized. Flash, Honestly, if you ask for my opinion regarding ALL media critics, including the moronic and irresponsible Mariotti, I will tell you, "I don't give a s*** to what they say about KW." As a Sox fan, I am very happy that KW has finally been able to change the way the Sox has been fruitlessly playing these past few years, and it's WORKING as indicated in our great record. The DRays were asking McCarthy, Garland AND Anderson. If I were KW, I would say to them, "The HELL with you!" KW almost pulled off the biggest trade of this season until the Reds owner nixed the deal. Now for Mariotti, he didn't even know what he was talking about trading for KGJ for Anderson AND McCarthy. Ask yourself this question, would Anderson AND McCarthy be able to go through the AL waiver line without being snatched up to reach the Reds? Please don't tell me, "Yes." I know you know better than that goof Mariotti would ever know... When Podsednik comes back, I betcha the Sox will be much better. It's so NICE to have such a healthy lead now because even if we lose, we still can gain. 33 my man!!!
  8. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) Sox don't advance past the first round, or good forbid--collapse before the seasons end, this is going back to Williams. Don't make a deadline move or acquire Griffey, especially after these latest offensive troubles, you'll have a lot of explaining to do. Flash, Don't put a blame on Kenny! You as well as EVERYONE on this board know how s***ty this trading deadline has been. For a million times, the Reds DO NOT want to trade KGJ away. Kenny has nothing to explain to me or to you or to anybody else. He has been doing pretty good job for our Sox team this year. Our players are currently going through a very tough period. And you know WHY? Podsednik is on the DL. Eversince Scott has been sick, you can see how terrible our team has been playing. Just let Podsednik get his full rest. When he comes back, he will be much healthier and, hopefully, we as the team will continue our first-half surge. Tomorrow, we are still going to have 11 games lead on the Indians and 12 over the Twins. Don't worry too much man!
  9. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) Someone should explain to this idiot how trades work after July 31st Because NO ONE would claim Brain Anderson from the wire. I can not fathom the idioticy of this well-known sportswriter. If making a trade AFTER July 31st is that simple, KGJ would have been here by now. The moment I read Brian Anderson's name mentioned in his article, I said to myself, "Apparently, this goof does even know that much about baseball, let alone advicing KW how to make a trade!" The Reds management already stated KGJ will NOT be MOVED. Even if we offer the Reds McCarthy AND Anderson, how are they going to make it to the Reds through the waiver line? Other teams in the AL will snatch them up in a heartbeat. Such a stupid and moronic and irresponsible article!
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 06:38 AM) Wow, that was incredible. What an awesome write up and a major thank you for showing Ozzie for who he really is. Once again, hate, blood, and death may sell, but this is the stuff that is missing from the news- the human element. Thank You Joe Cowley. Thank you so much Joe Cowley for sharing with all of us your incredible journey in beating cancer. I myself have had a friend who had passed away from lymphoma at the age of 44 and another who also died from lung cancer at the age of 46. I am a former heavy smoker. I quitted about 5 months ago, and reading this wonderful article just really inspires me to continue on my journey. Who would have thought quitting smoking is THAT difficult! And thank you Ozzie for your genuine caring for those who are not as lucky as we are. It feels so great to know that your foul-mouth manager has a heart of a Santa Claus. Thank you again...
  11. QUOTE(S720 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) No, I seem to remember the Yankees would eat $2 mil/year for this year AND next year. Just for curiosity, can someone look it up? I guess I found an article that mentioned Jose's contract: "Contreras has $17,382,978 remaining on his contract. The Yankees are giving the White Sox money to cover $1 million of his $7 million salary next year and $2 million of his $8 million salary in 2006." http://msnbc.msn.com/id/5568444/
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) I thought the Yanks only paid for some of the contract this year, and not next year. No, I seem to remember the Yankees would eat $2 mil/year for this year AND next year. Just for curiosity, can someone look it up?
  13. QUOTE(beck72 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 01:29 PM) It depends with Joe. I see his defense as a huge asset that the sox might want to lock up. Esp. with few options in the minors and around the league. Jose and Damaso very well could be dealt. If Jose steps it up this postseason, he could stick around. Though highly unlikely, as he'll probably throw in the pen. Paying $8 mill for a 5th SP isn't very wise. If he's still inconsistent, say hello to Mr Bmac. With COtts' emergence, Marte could bring back some very good talent. Beck: I thought Contreras' contract is $6 mil/year. The Yankees eat the other $2 mil.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 12:31 PM) This trade will likely all revert back to whether or not the Reds ownership wants to trade Griffey Jr. I'm not sure why everyone thinks they'll change their mind about 2 weeks after saying no to the trade the first time. Why? Why? Why? Must you build my HOPE up so high that I will feel tremendously hopeless and excrutiatingly painful when KGJ is being claimed by some other team(s)!
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) In all seriousness, it might just be mixed IP's or something along those lines. If you recenty changed services or have a wireless router, something might have changed. Thanks for all of your help guys. I'm using IE, and nothing has been changed from few days ago when I was still able to access the site. Don't know what's going on? Who should I email my IP address to so that it can be physically excluded out of the banned list? Secondly, when a person is banned, does the IP address or the member name get banned? It has been kind of frustrated not being able to access the chatting during the games!
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) .............BANNED. Thanks SoxFan1. If I'm banned, how come I can access the website at work? I really don't know what's going on? If you can remember, sorry for the little trouble with you before. Who the hell had the nerve to ban me?
  17. For some reason(s), I recently CAN NOT access the Soxtalk site at home. I got the error message "You are not permitted to use this site." Why??? I can access the site very well at work. Please let me know your answer. TIA.
  18. I would only be convinced once I saw the World Series Championship Trophy being carried around by Buehrle, Garland, Garcia, El Duque, Contreras, Hermanson, Politte, etc. Until then, I will still have a little bit of concern, doubt, excitement, anticipation, happiness, sadness, etc. Guess what? We're not the only ones. Other contending teams are feeling the same way. It's natural!
  19. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) Freddie was HUGE today. Where in the hell did the Yankees dig up Small? Wow, he was tough ... 4 to 5 innings of nothing but K's and pop ups. How can we differentiate between a great, tough pitching OR a terrible, lame hitting?
  20. QUOTE(Yoda @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:06 PM) GAME OVER. WE WON!!!
  21. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) shut them down and go home guys.. You mean, "Shut them down and go to Boston.."
  22. For a millionth time, please STOP playing MANAGER. To all of you Ozzie critics, you guys know NOTHING about strategizing the game. If you think you are better than Ozzie, get the hell out of this forum and go coach some real team instead of VIRTUAL. Without Ozzie, our beloved White Sox will DEFINITELY not have the best record right now. All of the Sox players believe in Ozzie, and that's why they are playing above their ability, and that's why we are having the best record in the ENTIRE major league.
  23. QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) They boot the f***ing ball around the field. Fundamentals are the first things you learn in little league. Seriously. :headshake CONTRACT the goddamned pathetic team. What an embarassment!
  24. OMG, I have not seen such a pathetic team like the current Royals. They should be ashamed of themselves for playing THAT lousy. Their fans should ask them for refunds. How CAN you play that terribly???
  25. Gentlemen, Buckle down and get ready for a nail-biting experience!
