  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 02:22 PM) Well last year, and this year. We usually give a ton of runs in Spring Training no matter what year it is
  2. QUOTE(G&T @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 02:14 PM) No it was today. Thornton apparently was really bad. Ah, ok. Well, that's certainly no surprise. Giving up runs is what we do in AZ. Lots of runs
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 02:11 PM) Contreras on the mound. Apparently the B game went poorly today. Coop was pretty pissed. The pitching has been terrible this spring. I believe that was from yesterday. There are the Coop pissed quotes on chisox.com
  4. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 07:20 AM) Still a long way to go in ST. However, this solid start can only help. What we saw from Brian yesterday was awesome however. Going right back up the middle in his first AB, taking a walk, the going the other way on a ball, with a base hit to RF. Just good all around AB's by Brian, and something that is good to see. I it translates into the season. That's what we need to hope for. Last year he had a great spring. Sprayed the ball all over the place
  5. And this is why we don't win spring games
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 03:19 PM) I smell a Durant buzzer beater, Odom-esque style. Abrams is dangerous here. Almost. Great game. Wonder if it'll back up the selection show
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:51 PM) Not to hijack the baseball thread, but I can't see how a recruit would rather play in the Big 10 than the ACC or Big 12 after watching the tourney this wknd. Aint that the truth. Of course I'd rather they come to the ACC
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:47 PM) Every time these teams play, it's a great game. ANd its a much more entertaining than the Big Ten bball.
  9. Make sure you have on ESPN on the other channel. Great game!
  10. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:42 PM) This is what I got when I tried that... Make sure you stop the MLB player version. Or maybe even close that browser down. I got that error before I made sure the other version was turned off
  11. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:32 PM) no in between? rack 'em up! Russel is looking really good. Wouldn't be surprised to see him surpase McCullogh on the prospect list. Yep. Follow these directions. - Right click on the picture, then click properties - Copy the entire link beside location. Should start with 'mms:' - Hit stop on the windows media player. - Open your standalone windows media player - File->Open URL->paste That should let you have it in your regular player. You can change the size at will.
  12. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) can you increase the picture size for yours? Ever since I got the windowsmedia player, I can't or just don't know how. You mean fullscreen? double click on the picture
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:24 PM) New? I've been begging for him to be on this club for 3 years. He could realistically be our most dangerous hitter against the likes of Santana, C.C., etc. It would be a shame for him to not make this team. The problem is he plays the same position as our stars, which is the reason he is not on any good teams for the most part QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:25 PM) Thats what she said. nice haha
  14. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:18 PM) fly out by Beltran to RF, 2 quick outs for Russel. It is on MLB.tv. Go to the whitesox homepage, click watch the sox on mlb.tv and then click watch the game. Yep. I'm watching on mlb.tv
  15. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 10, 2007 -> 11:40 PM) Or if Pods starts the year on the DL. Yah. But that's looking less and less likely. He's way ahead of schedule health wise
  16. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Mar 10, 2007 -> 11:19 PM) Tuesday should be interesting. With an 11 man pitching staff all but guaranteed, that means 14 spots for positional players with 3 positions still up in the air (LF, CF, and 4th OF). Erstad is at least guaranteed one of those spots, with Anderson, Podsednik, Fields, Sweeney, Terrero, and Perez in the mix for the final two roster spots. I would like to see Anderson in CF, Erstad in LF, with Perez on the bench for his ability to hit LHP. Fields, Sweeney, and Terrero could stay in Charlotte and get regular ABs. That leaves Pods the odd man out unless they move him or someone like Mackowiak. For the bullpen, they basically said two positions were available to (Aardsma, Masset, Haeger, Logan). Logan seems to have the edge as a Lefty and with his performance so far. That leaves one spot for Aardsma, Masset, and Haeger. It looks like the only way Perez makes it is if Anderson is sent down, but then we wouldn't have a backup centerfielder other than Mack, which is apparently not an option. Unless they trade Mack or Pods which is not going to happen. It's too bad Perez can't play a little bit of outfield and Mack was better in center. It would be great to have Perez bat in the lineup against lefties.
