  1. Our bullpen does have the chance to be pretty f***ing awesome with Sale in it though.
  2. I'm cool with it so long as Peavy is able to come back sometime in April.
  3. At this point last year we were all praying that Johnny Damon would sign with us, and thought how awesome he would be. While he would've been better than Kotsay, I don't think he would've been as good as most of us were thinking.
  4. I'm really interested to see how many games it will take to win the division. I think we'll win right at 90 or so games. I'm just not sure if it will be enough to win the division.
  5. QUOTE (danman31 @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 12:45 AM) Hmm, I didn't know of that problem. That's brutal. At that point you might as well just youtube the ending lol. That's what I would do for sure. Most of the stuff in Rome is just story cutscenes anyway, with a couple fights.
  6. Oh man it's almost here! First game 2 weeks from tomorrow!
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 11, 2011 -> 12:32 PM) Me and some buddies at work came up with a top 20 videogame spreadsheet which has been interesting to say the least. Ocarina of Time and Mario 64 are far and away leadnig the pack so far. If you want to come up with a list, any console, arcade, or PC game, I will submit it and send you the spreadsheet results Top 20 thats tough. FF7 Crono Trigger OoT Castlevania: Symphony of the Night FF6 Mario 64 Super Metroid Link to the Past FF4 SW: Knights of the Old Republic Uncharted 2 Half Life 2 Super Mario World Legend of Zelda Shadow of the Collossus Xenogears Dragon Quest VIII God of War Devil May Cry Half Life 2 That was tough. Needless to say, I fall on the RPGish side of things. PS. I think I'm the only person in the world that doesn't like Red Dead Redemption. I've tried to get into it the past couple of weeks and just can't do it.
  8. QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 11:03 AM) sorry, what's the point of an expensive manager again? There is none?
  9. QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 09:06 PM) The GM has set the team up for success. I dont think you can say that KW has not put this team in a position to have success. Ozzie still has to write the lineup cards (playing people from his bench more often than needed comes to mind) and has to be held accounted for at some point in time. I didn't say anything to disagree with any of that. I love what KW has done. And if we didn't win the division I certainly wouldn't fault him for going all in. And I'm fine with holding Ozzie accountable and firing him if it doesn't work. But I still don't think it'd be his fault. Even though we have upgraded the team we are still going to need a bunch of bounce back years to get where we want to go I think. That's on the players.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 08:36 PM) With this team? Who's fault could it be? The players? Or the Twins or Tigers? I just don't think that a manager has that big of an effect in baseball in a positive or negative way. The person that brings in the players and the players are the people who control whether a team wins or not. Ozzie's decision to go with Kotsay instead of THome had a much bigger effect on the team than anything he did in seasons.
  11. im fine with getting rid of him if we don't make the playoffs, but if we don't make it it won't be his fault.
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 31, 2010 -> 01:58 PM) He didn't do anything that couldn't have been expected - you guys were playing two of the best three point shooters in school history. I'm still trying to figure out if Iowa State is good defensively or Virginia was just shooting that bad. Up until about 3 games ago we had the 14th best 3 pt shooting team in the country. In the last 3 games we are like 7-65 so who the f*** knows.
  13. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 30, 2010 -> 09:59 PM) Big road win for Iowa State at Virginia, 60-47. Hard not to like this group of guys. Vanderbeekan can go f*** himself. We were really down with no Mike Scott and Sherrill still hurting. Add in 3-24 from three and it was a really s***ty night.
  14. I'll be surprised if our guys are even able to take the field after the emotional blowback from this recent issue.
  15. Thanks for everything Bobby! You helped give me the greatest year of my life!
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 11:54 AM) Crain will be on Minneapolis radio in 5-10 min. http://www.kfan.com/mediaplayer/ What'd he have to say?
  17. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 11:50 PM) Club option for the 3rd year. I like it. Where'd you see that?
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 10:40 PM) Or he can trade a guy like Jackson for prospects get his money off the books and re-sign Garcia for a fraction of Jackson's cost. Its a downgrade, and it always seems like Freddy is going to fall apart, but he keeps you in games most of the time. Why would he do that?
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 09:59 PM) This is Kenny Williams we're talking about. If he had a good deal on the table for one of his players, he'd have done already. Sure, if he got a major league player back to take their place.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 09:54 PM) Rock, if you had to guess, would the salary dump be Quentin, Teahen, or a bigger trade like Danks? I can't imagine they would sign Crain, just to dump Quentin or Danks. That wouldn't make any sense.
  21. Somebody give me some more confirmation
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 10:55 AM) That 6 million figure for 2013 is probably evidence that we didn't want to go that 3rd year and we're going to be paying Jake Peavy $4 million to buy out his contract. Great, now we are derferring money too. Debbie Downer!
  23. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 10:54 AM) Side note: Man, Heyman is well connected. Nightengale broke it. He must have a really good source or two in the org.
  24. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 10:53 AM) It's 12/12/6.5, then he gets a million a year for next 7 years. Really?
