  1. I guess Jerry Reinsdorf was on Mike North's radio show and he said that "doctors found something that they didn't like" after checking out Eddy Curry.
  2. To quote Conan O'Brien: "STAAAMMMOOOSSS!!!"
  3. And so was Hawk. The point is that no one knew he would break out like this, and that includes Garland fans. How normal is it for a guy to only win 12 games a season with a ~4.60 ERA to all of a sudden winning 7 games early with a 2.39 ERA? Afterall, last season Garland actually regressed from his 2002 and 2003 numbers.
  4. Understood, but saying "I told you so" to people who bashed Garland in the past doesn't really make much sense. Garland would crap the bed and always give up the big inning in the past. As a fan, that is really frustrating. Many people blame Jerry Manuel for Garland's lack of confidence which could very well be true. Manuel would pull Garland as soon as he gave up a run or two. Anyways, I'd like to see some posts where Garland supporters predicted he would win 18 to 20+ games THIS season which it looks like he may very well do. Even Garland supporters didn't know or probably even think that he would break out the way he has this season.
  5. The funny thing is that if you are NEVER critical of any White Sox player you will never be wrong when and if they turn it around and become successful. Has Garland been mediocre for most of his career? Yes. Did Garland supporters even forsee him breaking out like he has this season? I doubt it.
  6. True, but that stuff doesn't matter much for the All-Star Game; offense does. Soriano is a horrible defensive 2nd baseman but do you think that will stop him from being selected?
  7. Oh, of course I agree. Pods' AVG means very little compared to his OBP. His job is to get on base for our boppers and he has been doing it well. He has 20 BB's and only 10 K's in 107 AB's.
  8. Exactly. Podsednik could probably be hitting .280 to .300 right now if he wasn't sac'ing guys over so much.
  9. ESPN is actually on the bandwagon now. They did a whole story on Buehrle last night about how fast he pitches and they praised Garland for awhile saying he could be the A.L.'s starting pitching for the All-Star Game.
  10. Garland and El Duque and even Buehrle if he gets his ERA down to around 3.00 in his next few starts. Also, Hermanson if he keeps being lights out. I don't think Iguchi will make it with Roberts and Soriano tearing it up. He should definately be the third option though. And we can't forget about Dead...
  11. Agreed, but this is just a bad year for Iguchi to make it. If Brian Roberts wasn't having a career year, I would say Iguchi could almost be a lock with Soriano.
  12. True, but 2000 was pretty much Valenstache's career year. Though, he did have a really good 2001 season as well. Iguchi is just a much better #2 hitter than Valenstache. He can draw a walk, bunt, and his hits seem to find the holes. Valenstache was a bad #2 hitter because he couldn't lay down a bunt to save his life. Durham and Valenstache had a lot more homerun power though.
  13. I would have traded Willie and Adkins in a second for Jose Guillen. I'd rather have Guillen in RF than Dye right about now and Ozuna could just fill Willie's role. Adkins is in Charlotte anyways so he wouldn't really be missed.
  14. "Chicago White Sox reliever Dustin Hermanson, right, gets a hug from catcher A.J. Pierzynski after pitching a perfect ninth inning against the Baltimore Orioles for his eighth save in as many opportunities, Friday, May 13, 2005, in Chicago. The White Sox won 5-3."
  15. Cabrera vs. Garcia @ Daniel Cabrera vs. Sox (career stats) Freddy Garcia vs. Orioles (career stats) 1 start 8 starts 1-0 record 3-5 record 0.00 ERA 3.69 AVG 0.83 WHIP 1.29 WHIP .100 BAA .240 BAA 6.0 IP 53.2 IP 2 H 49 H 0 R 25 R 0 ER 22 ER 0 HR 6 HR 3 BB 20 BB 3 K 34 K GO SOX!!!
  16. Well, the best right now is probably Brian Roberts and Melvin Mora. It's mostly because of Roberts but Mora damn sure is no slouch.
  17. Does anyone think we could have one of the best 1-2 punches in all of baseball with Podsednik and Iguchi? Podsednik: .380 OBP Iguchi: .364 OBP It's like we have our own version of Juan Pierre and Luis Castillo.
  18. Indeed. The consecutive lead streak will come to an end sooner or later but they have already blown the 1955 Dodgers' 25-game record away.
  19. Pods' .380 OBP and 18 SB is pretty redonkulously awesome as well.
  20. Torii Hunter flew out on the first pitch. HAHA!
  21. TWINS LOSE!!! 6 GAME LEAD FOR THE SOX!!!
  22. Nathan's ERA jumped to 1.76. Hermanson is better! Francisco Cordero in for the save for the Rangers. Nick Punto grounds out. 1 down. Joe Mauer up. Joe Mauer flies out. 2 down. Justin Morneau up. Justin Morneau singles. Torii Hunter up.
  23. WOW, they just pulled Nathan for Terry Mulholland! HAHA!
  24. 2 MORE RUNS FOR THE RANGERS!!! NATHAN BLEW IT BIG TIME!!! BOUT TIME!!!
