  1. Throwing first, second, and sometimes even third pitch balls doesn't help either. He's "showing the batter his whole arsenal before trying to get him out," as Hawk would say.
  2. Shingo has given up 5 HR's in 9 IP. I know 3 of them came in one game but that's pretty bad. He only gave up 6 HR's last season in 62.1 IP. Methinks the scouting report is out on Shingo.
  3. I just wish Everett could be trusted in RF. Our lineup could improve greatly once Frank is back if Carl could play RF. Until then, Dye needs to stop playing like crap.

    unreal...

I heard about this one awhile ago. The guy made a computer program to beat it.
  5. Edit by Spiff: Don't post pictures like that.
  6. THANKS FOR BEING THE FIRST ONE TO PREDICT GRIFFEY TO THE YANKEES! I DIDN'T KNOW PETER GAMMONS WAS POSTING HERE! OH BOY, OH BOY!
  7. 6 runs should be enough to win a game. The bullpen blew it last night. But the problem is consistency on offense. Konerko and Dye are rally killers right now. It's sad that I'd rather see Widger up over those two in key situations.
  8. Yep, he wins all of his games at home. In other words, I'd rather be facing him at the Cell. Look at his home and away splits... http://sports.yahoo.com/mlbpa/players/6786...r&type=Pitching
  9. Do you honesltly think I care that much of your baseball opinions? Griffey to the Yankees has been rumored for awhile now. :rolly I'm sorry I stepped on your toes, Peter Gammons.
  10. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Did you ever think people skim through threads without reading every single post? :headshake Yeah, I guess you were the only one who ever thought Griffey would go to the Yankees. It has been rumored for a few weeks now, in case you didn't know. LOL, pitiful.
  11. Royals fans (what little there are) have wanted this guy gone for awhile now. I guess he was making alot of bone-headed decisions.
  12. Do you think if the Reds are going to trade Griffey, they are going to pick up his contract? With an outfield of Dunn, Pena, and Kearns, they will be looking to DUMP his contract, not pick it up. The only team that I could see going after Griffey is the Yankees because they could take on his contract. They don't have much in the way of prospects to send to the Reds but they wouldn't have to send much since they would be picking up his albatross of a contract.
  13. Exactly. There's a reason Minnesota rarely loses close games -- it's called the best bullpen in baseball, anchored by Joe Nathan.
  14. Guys, the problem isn't Hermanson. The problem is Shingo and Vizcaino. Adding Billy Wagner would just bump down Hermanson into setup. We would also have Politte and Marte who can be trusted with the 6th, 7th, and 8th innings. That way, Ozzie wouldn't have to use Shingo and Vizcaino as much in critical situations. He could just use them on 1 or 2 batters and use their strengths -- Shingo vs. a righty or two and Vizcaino vs. a lefty or two. You guys get my point.
  15. I think we need bullpen help in the form of a dominant closer moreso than more offense. I think Frank will take care of the problem on offense with his OBP and hitting. Dye is sucking hardcore so once Frank is back, hopefully Everett will be able to play the corner outfield positions. How do the Twins win? They have a lights-out bullpen. We need Billy Wagner so Marte and Hermanson can setup for him and Shingo and Vizcaino don't have to pitch as much in critical situations.
  16. Anyone who thought trying to acquire Billy Wagner at the deadline was a stupid idea must be in hiding now. Shingo isn't good, Vizcaino isn't that good, and Cotts is also shaky. We need a DOMINANT closer to push the rest of our relievers back an inning. Marte and Hermanson setting the table for Wagner with Politte in the 6th or 7th sounds alot better to me. Vizcaino and Shingo can take care of mop-up duties or a few batters here and there.
  17. I didn't think he has gone through 1 scoreless inning of work this season.
  18. Vizcaino is terrible. Tie game.
  19. Huff steals 3rd. Viz walks Green. Runners at 1st and 3rd. 1 out. Singleton up.
  20. There's the Cotts we all know and love. Leadoff double off the wall.
  21. 6-4 Sox. 2 outs in the top of the 7th. Rowand at 1st base. Uribe up.
  22. Bell makes Cotts' control look Maddux-like.
