Game Thread 5-15-2005 Sox vs Orioles
At least the Cotts defenders finally get to see how much he blows.
-
Scott Podsednik
Vizcaino has given up one or more runs in 7 of his 13 outings this season. That's pretty bad.
-
Scott Podsednik
How could you possibly be happy with Vizcaino so far? He has been brutal.

GARCIA HAS NO BALLS!!!!!
Can he take Cotts with him?

Lefties LOOGY's
Great idea for a thread. The most reliable guy on that list is probably Mercker but I don't like what he brings to the clubhouse after his whining about the Flubs' announcers last season. Jorge De La Rosa has great stuff but he's a little wild. I don't think the Pirates will trade Mike Gonzalez either.

He sure can. Here's a list: Robb Nen Jason Schmidt Mark Prior Kerry Wood Carlos Zambrano Chad Fox

Carrie Woods to closer?
True, but Glendon Rusch has actually been pitching better than Carrie, even as a starter. How many blown saves do the Flubs have this season? It wouldn't be a bad idea... except for the fact that Carrie typically gets rocked in the 1st inning. He is usually wild early on and tends to walk a couple guys in the 1st.

Some stats to cheer you up...
Frank should jack up our team OBP a great deal just by himself. Having him in the lineup should also help Konerko.

Some stats to cheer you up...
After having a horrible team OBP to start the season, it has gradually increased to a respectable .327. We are now ranked 20th in MLB in team OBP, right above the Flubs. Hopefully, this number will continue to rise. Even though Pods missed 6 games due to his pulled groin, he is absolutely BLOWING AWAY the rest of the base-stealers in the MLB with 22 SB. Willy Taveras of the Astros is #2 in SB with only 13. We are leading the entire MLB in team stolen bases with 44.

SOX All-Stars
Garland, Buehrle, El Duque, Hermanson, and Podsednik (if he gets his AVG up in the .280 to .290 range) are all possibilities.
-
Flub fans are dumber than I thought
I laughed out loud on that one... Pods doesn't get extra bases? Ummm, yes he does. He gets a single and steals 2nd. Isn't that getting an extra base by himself and isn't 22 times doing it often? The funniest thing is that one of the things the Flubs need badly is a true leadoff hitter. Right now they have Korey Patterson and his .297 OBP leading off. :headshake

Zambrano yanked again
He needs some Epsom salt for his cramping. Wow, if the Cubs and the Pirates win tomorrow they could be in 4th place.
-
Zambrano yanked again
Zambrano is now 3-2 with a 4.09 ERA. He's such a stud! This headcase is coming down with arm cramps every outing now. Flubs are back to 6.5 games back. OMFG, the Pirates have the same record as the Flubs!
-
Zambrano yanked again
FLUBS LOSE! 16-19 now. Chad Cordero gets a very shaky save on a Derek Lee 1st pitch popup.
-
Eric Gagne rocked in his debut
He just gave up back-to-back homers to Chipper Jones and Andruw Jones in his first inning of work. He then gave up a single to Julio Franco but struck out Brian Jordan, Johnny Estrada, and Raul Mondesi to end the inning. His ERA is now 18.00 to start the season.

Flub fans are dumber than I thought
LOL, Flubs fans are really stupid... http://www.northsidebaseball.com/Forum/vie...t=20907&start=0 Yeah, OPS really matters a lot when it comes to a leadoff hitter. :headshake OBP is the most important stat, dumbass. When a guy can get on base from a single or a walk and steal 2nd base at will, why would SLG matter? This guy probably also thinks that Corey Patterson is great because he hits homers even though he currently has a .297 OBP and 3 SB on the season. :rolly

Zambrano yanked again
Majewski with 1.2 innings of scoreless work. He had 1 K and gave up 3 hits.
