  1. Jeromy Burnitz is looking a helluva lot better than Jermaine Dead right about now just like Castilla would look a lot better than Cruddy. I'm not saying we should trade for Castilla but those are the facts.
  2. So because Crede isn't the worst offender of the bunch, no one should complain about him? Konerko and Dye are being covered in other threads. There's more than enough posts to go around for all of them. Cruddy's 1 for 17 in this homestead is as frustrating as Paulsy's and Dead's struggles at the plate.
  3. ... until Crede's average is back down to .239 like last season.
  4. Joe Borchard can talk? "DUUURRR!!!"
  5. Isn't going to happen and the only reason you need to know is Sweeney's contract.
  6. In Castilla's last non-Coors season, he hit .277 for the Braves in 2003. Crede hit .261 in 2003 and only .239 last season. I guess that's not really big difference though.
  7. One question -- do you think Crede could ever hit .319 AVG / .362 OBP / .589 SLG with 46 HR's and 144 RBI's playing in Coors Field? If you say yes, you are a liar.
  8. Keep looking at those obscure stats instead of using your eyes. Castilla is a much better hitter than Crede is or will ever be. I can't believe we are even arguing this. Notice, I haven't mentioned defense because Crede's is better than Castilla's.
  9. A wee bit better offensively? LOL. Do you think Crede will ever even sniff a .281 career AVG, 307 homers, and, 1035 RBI's? Puhleeze. You can say it's mainly because of Coors Field but Crede has also had the benefit of playing at Coors East. Last year, the Cell was even more of a hitter's park than Coors. Crede also has the advantage of playing his home games in a hitter's park but has never had a season as good as some of Castilla's.
  10. Crede isn't even in the same league as Herbert Perry as far as hitting goes. I can't believe you are even questioning the fact that Castilla is a far better hitter than Crede, Coors or no Coors.
  11. Neifi Perez, Jose Macias, and Enrique Wilson all on the same roster. Good lord. How many crappy infielders does one team need? Is Hendry's main goal of the season to hoard as many of these scrubs as he can? And people think Kenny is a bad GM. :rolly
  12. Neifi Perez is a stud compared to Enrique Wilson. The Cubs boards are going apes*** about how stupid Hendry is for making such a horrible, lateral move considering Ronny Cedeno is twice the player that Wilson is.
  13. "Cubs agree to terms with Wilson" http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/new...t=.jsp&c_id=chc
  14. You do realize that there are "cutter" steroids that get you more lean than bulked-up, right? That would give him more speed. Do you know for sure that Valido did not take steroids? Nope.
  15. First, you would have to move Borchard because he can't even hit in AAA anymore. :headshake
  16. I would actually take the Milkman's bat over Cruddy's right now. He is a free agent, isn't he? Crede's defense at 3rd base is his only saving grace right now.
  17. Roosevelt Brown has always been a guy that tears it up in AAA. He's just not good enough for the majors. He is like an AAAA hitter.
  18. Wow, I just looked at Sweeney's numbers. It's a small sample size but damn, he is tearing it up along with Jerry Owens. We could have a sick starting outfield in the future with Ryan Sweeney in LF, Jerry Owens in CF, and Brain Anderson in RF.
  19. I never said Brain Anderson couldn't do a better job than Dead but then again, I don't know for sure either. The problem is that bringing him up would start his arbitration clock early and he would still be sharing time with Dead in RF. It's a similar reason to why bringing up McCarthy would be a bad idea. I don't think the Sox want to bring up Anderson until he is our opening day RF'er. They will give Dead every chance to break out of his horrific slump and only bring up Anderson as a last resort. Yes, it would hurt. It would start Anderson's arbitration clock early.
  20. Ross Choad would probably be an improvement over Dead in RF. Dead is hitting like a dog and playing RF like a dog.
  21. But if he started hitting well it would take all the fun out of saying "Credepopsitup" when he fails.
  22. So is Brain Anderson Brian's smarter brother?
  23. But Crede can hit .300+ all season! It wasn't just a 3 week hot streak!
  24. We sure could use this Brain guy. Do you think we could also sign Pinky?
