  2. Jose Mesa, Game 7 of the ALCS vs. Yankees... 'Nuff said.
  3. So my guess is that the Sox would try to send Timo down to Charlotte a la Ben Davis. He would have to accept or decline the assigment. If Timo declines the assigment, which the writer assumes he will, he would become a free agent and the Sox would not be responsible for the rest of his $1 million contract. Instead, his salary would be prorated. Sounds like a good deal to me if it happens that way.
  4. Well, most people here said that it would come down to either Timo or Willie. I guess we were right.
  5. I didn't agree with Timo being the guy to cut earlier in the season but man, he has been brutal. Crappy bat, bad baserunning, and shoddy defense. It's probably the right move considering Everett, Ozuna, and even Gload and Willie can play the outfield. I guess Kenny and Jerry aren't messing around. They are definately not making moves based on money. They paid Ben Davis $1 million to play for Charlotte, paid $425,000 to bring up Kevin Walker, and soon may be paying out the rest of Timo's $1 million salary just to cut him.
  6. Indeed. Robin is above him as well.
  7. Norton would be a great move. He can pinch-hit (and switch hit) and backup 1st and 3rd base.
  8. Okay, Freddy hasn't pitched great lately but the odds are in his favor Friday. He is pitching away from the Cell and in a day game. Freddy's splits say he should pitch a good game. If the wind is blowing in at the Urinal, he has an even better chance of getting the W. Having been brought up in the Astros organization, Freddy is the only starting pitcher we have going this weekend that can swing the stick. Contreras and El Duque couldn't buy a hit to save their lives.

  11. We really could use Ross Gload right about now but I don't think he's healthy.
  12. I think (and hope) most people realize that we would also have to throw in a prospect(s) to get a guy like Ron Villone.
  13. A 6.5 game lead would be nice. Lose Twinkies!

  15. Frank with a liner robbed by a great catch. The announcer said it would have been an easy double if not for the great catch.
  16. So how was Ozuna's defense at 3rd base in place of Crede? It would be nice to have a solid defensive backup with a decent bat in case Crede keeps up his horrible slump.
  17. They wouldn't give up Rafael Soriano for Ben Davis or Jamie Burke and a prospect.
  18. The Mariners aren't going to trade their young pitching talent and no team is going to want an injured prospect anyways.
  19. Eddie would be great but would cost a nut-load. Villone would only cost us a backup catcher and a marginal prospect. We just need another lefty, we don't exactly need a lefty closer (even though it would be nice).
  20. Trade them Ben Davis and a prospect (Borchard ) for Ron Villone.

  22. The deal was supposedly Garland, Singleton, AND 2 minor league pitchers for Erstad. :puke I just read it in the Sunday Tribune last week.
  23. I made my sig last night. Maybe it worked?
