- Saying goodbye to Jamie Burke?
I mentioned this yesterday. With Zaun's injury and a no-hitting backup catcher in Ken Huckaby, I think they will either claim Burke or sign Greg Myers out of retirement.- Olivo benched
Uhhhh.... I think I skimmed through the thread.- Percival out 4-6 weeks
Yeah, I would guess that Farnsworth will be the setup man and Urbina will close.- Olivo benched
Borchard was NEVER an option. It was either Reed or Crede, not Borchard.- Olivo benched
Reed has done well so far in his rookie season but I never thought much of Olivo. He can kill a fastball but he can't hit breaking stuff to save his life. He K's WAY too much. He kills lefties but can't hit righties.- Percival out 4-6 weeks

"Poll 'winner' Baker says he can handle criticism" http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...ack=2&cset=true You can feel the heat, Dusty? I thought the heat doesn't affect you because you're black?- Game Thread 5-9-2005 Sox .vs. Rays
The key to the game will be patience at the plate for our hitters. Hideo Nomo has 16 BB's, 15 K's, and a 7.04 ERA on the season.- Around The Majors

He was only charged with only 2 earned runs. The other 2 were unearned because of the 2 errors by Uribe. Buehrle's ERA dropped from 4.00 to 3.78 after yesterday's outing.- Kevin Walker & Harris recalled; Lopez, Burke down
Here's part of an article relating to the story... "Before call-up, Wunsch was ready to move on" http://static.highbeam.com/d/dailyheraldar...orts/index.html- Kevin Walker & Harris recalled; Lopez, Burke down
Yes, you can. He has been great throughout his career but so far this season he has been pitching "in trouble" with runners that he put on base. That is what I would call "shaky" but he still gets the job done. Come on, the guy had to run to cover home on a wild pitch and tag a guy out to prevent a loss. Yesterday, he pitched "in trouble" as well. He gave up a walk and a double but he still got the job done.- Kevin Walker & Harris recalled; Lopez, Burke down
Believe me, I AM happy. That doesn't mean I can't have opinions on some of the players on the Sox roster though. But seriously, didn't Kenny have some sort of grudge against Wunsch for some reason? I forget. EDIT: Okay, thanks.- Kevin Walker & Harris recalled; Lopez, Burke down
I never trashed Marte. I said he has been shaky so far this season and he has been. He is still great and I wouldn't give him up for anything, especially because of his ridiculously cheap contract.- Kevin Walker & Harris recalled; Lopez, Burke down
We should have signed a decent lefty reliever or kept Kelly Wunsch, quite honestly. But Kenny seemed to not like Wunsch for some reason. Didn't they have a run-in or something? But I understand why Cotts is on the roster -- he can long relieve. Shingo has been bad because he has been getting behind in his counts instead of throwing strikes early. Vizcaino is giving up way too many hits but at least he hasn't been giving up the longball as much as previous seasons (minus yesterday). That's Viz's M.O. Yes, Marte has been shaky just because he has actually given up more walks (10) than hits (9). That's pretty strange. He has still gotten out of his jams though.- Kevin Walker & Harris recalled; Lopez, Burke down
How long does Pineiro get to use "arm problems" as an excuse for his stuggles? The Mariners are letting him pitch in their rotation so he is healthy, no? - Saying goodbye to Jamie Burke?
