  1. "Indians Place Juan Gonzalez on 15-Day DL" http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/sns-a...ack=1&cset=true SHOCKING! That's what happens when you stop taking roids, Juan-Gone. :rolly
  2. "Koch flays the Jays HAS SOME HARSH WORDS FOR EX-TEAM" http://www.canoe.ca/NewsStand/TorontoSun/S...976773-sun.html :headshake
  3. Politte must have taught Felix Diaz his fastball.
  4. Well, I couldn't find Politte's career ERA splits but they have the rest of his splits here... Politte's Career splits vs Left-handed Batter vs Right-handed Batter 1.70 WHIP 1.19 WHIP .283 BAA .232 BAA 128.2 IP 185.1 IP 145 H 159 H 14 HR 26 HR 74 BB 61 BB 100 SO 170 SO Conclusion: Politte should definately only face right-handed batters. If he has to face lefties he should face as few as possible. Ozzie, please only use Cliff against righties.
  5. I almost hope Davis decides to become a free agent so Kenny will have that $1 million free at the trading deadline to help us pick up whatever we may need by then. I just don't know if Davis will turn down a guaranteed $1 million. He's not going to get that much money from any other team as a free agent.
  6. Burke's ability to play some 3B and 1B is hardly a necessity to our team considering Gload, Willie, and Ozuna will all likely make the roster. Gload is our backup at 1B. Willie can backup 2B and both Ozuna and Uribe can play 3B. Besides, Burke played all of 2 games at 3B and 2 games at 1B last season and those were as a late-inning defensive replacement. Also, Burke didn't exactly look good at either 3B or 1B this spring. I believe he had an error at each position.
  7. Hell, I'd settle for his power numbers from last season and a .265 average like Chisoxfn said.
  8. This has been covered in other threads already but here goes.... http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws
  9. I was just looking at Politte's numbers and I didn't realize how night and day he was versus lefties and righties last season... Politte's 2004 splits: vs Left-handed Batter vs Right-handed Batter 7.88 ERA 2.80 ERA 2.38 WHIP 1.02 WHIP .351 BAA .208 BAA 16.0 IP 35.1 IP 26 H 26 H 14 ER 11 ER 4 HR 2 HR 12 BB 10 BB 14 SO 34 SO The moral of the story is that Politte was absolutely rocked by left-handed batters last season. He just couldn't get them out. However, he was great against righties. I wish I could find Politte's career or 3-year splits to see if this has pretty much been a trend over his entire career but I'm guessing that it has. In any case, I hope Ozzie avoids using Cliff against lefties when possible. Hopefully, Vizcaino and Marte will face most lefties this season. I will cringe everytime I have to watch Cliff face a left-handed batter with RISP.
  10. Yeah, I said that in another thread. They like Widger's defense more than Burke's and they like Widger being a righty bat over Davis who is only good from the left side. Of course, the torn ligament in Davis' index finger also played a role.
  11. "Notes: Politte needs to lighten up Manager says dependable reliever 'trying too hard'" http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws Happy Cliff... You don't want to see Cliff get mad...
  12. Our old gascan has made the Cardinals roster... "Pulsipher makes cut for Cardinals Redbirds keep three lefty relievers, cut Jarvis" http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article...t=.jsp&c_id=mlb
  13. Yeah, I saw that one. Kinda surprising but Quinlan has played extremely well in limited time.
  14. I doubt that Walker will make the 25-man opening day roster. Since Buehrle is 100% healthy we will probably just go with 11 pitchers. Here's how I see it... Rotation: Buehrle Garcia Contreras El Duque Garland Bullpen: Cotts Hermanson Marte Politte Takatsu Vizcaino Catchers: Pierzynski Widger Infielders: Crede Gload Harris Iguchi Konerko Ozuna Uribe Outfielders: Dye Everett Perez Podsednik Rowand Our infield and outfield is stacked with guys that can play this year. That's good to know in case the injury bug hits. When Frank is healthy, I could see Willie being sent down to Charlotte if Ozuna carries his excellent play into the regular season.
  15. What's wrong with Hinrich? He may not be the best ball-handler but he knows how to dish it out. He isn't shooting a high percentage from 3-point territory this year but he shot 39% last season.
  16. No, I agree. I was just messin' wit ya. I used to love Piatkowski back in his Clippers days for his 3-point skills. But with Gordon on this team, Piatkowski's 3-point shot falls by the wayside.
  17. How sweet is it that we were able to let Hinrich sit for 3 games and heal his hammy and still win everyone of them without him? Awesome. Now if only Deng's wrist can get better.
  18. Find a way to see it. It was pretty classic.
  19. I never said she was hot. Actually, I was surprised that Doug married her sorry ass. Did you see the interview with them on HBO? I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Doug is a friggin' wuss. He does this nod thing to her when he makes shots. He also puts his head down when the cheerleaders start dancing on the court. :headshake

  21. Speaking of Doug Christie, did any of you guys see that HBO Inside Sports story about him and his crazy wife? He's got to be the most pussy-whipped guy in the world. His wife bosses him around and he won't even look at any other women. That story was sick.
