  1. It was the classic, "I'M GONNA GET YOU YOU BASTARD... hold me back guys... MARTE, YOU'RE A DEAD MAN... keep holding me back." :rolly
  2. I just think that we should package up some of our MLB-ready players like Borchard, Adkins, and Diaz for some decent prospects that fill our needs.
  3. I never thought he had a chance at a roster spot anyways.

  5. If we did sign Shareef Abdur-Rahim and let Curry go, Chandler would have to play center and Shareef would play PF. I also like having a true center like Curry but he needs to learn to rebound and play some better D.
  6. It would be nice to get Merkin Valdez for Borchard.
  7. I hope he hits a couple bombs tomorrow and further tricks the Giants into thinking that he's good. Maybe then we could get a good prospect for him. With guys like Brian Anderson and Ryan Sweeney who will be ready soon, we don't need to hang on to Borchard any longer to find out if he is truly or a bust or not.
  8. I know they could make up a fake injury but it doesn't seem likely to me. It's obvious that El Duque is healthy, otherwise he wouldn't even be pitching in 'B' games. It seems like the Sox are taking it slow with him because he's coming off an injury from last season and he probably wasn't even 100% when he was pitching for the Yankees in the playoffs. He probably rushed back and said he was fine because he wanted to pitch. It seems like he's just trying to get his "stuff" back and regaining his control. We shall see.
  9. He started b****ing about having to sign so many autographs, right?
  10. Ok, fine. Ozuna will be a stud off the bench like Gload was for us last season!
  11. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws Now you can see why El Duque is getting roughed up this spring. He is mainly practicing one pitch each start.

  13. Ozuna is a good line drive hitter and is hitting singles and doubles with ease. He doesn't have as much speed as Willie but he seems to be a much better base runner. He is great at running from 1st to 3rd on a single. He has played SS, 2B, 3B, and even LF today. Ozuna actually played a few games in CF for the Marlins and Rockies a few years back. Of course, it's still just Spring Training.
  14. Yep, there are a couple blurbs at USATODAY.com: Bob Nightengale's THE BUZZ 3/23 column... http://www.usatoday.com/sports/bbw/columni...-hearings_x.htm What's the RF foul line distance at SBC Park? 309 feet? Maybe the Giants think that Borchard would be able to knock out a bunch of homers down that line while batting lefty.
  15. George Offman is The Score's baseball reporter just like how Bruce Levine is ESPN 1000's. They are both in camp reporting the stories for both teams. I think he meant as far as being ready for the MLB at a young age.
  16. Borchard was 2 for 2 with a double and a single today so his ST average is up to .257!
  17. George Offman of WSCR 670 The Score said that Pablo Ozuna has pretty much locked up the utility role with the Sox. He's hitting .540 (20 for 37) this spring and has played SS, 2B, 3B, and even played LF today. He is the ultimate utility-man. Offman also hyped up Brandon McCarthy saying he's on Mark Prior's level as far as maturity. He called him a "star" and said he will be a "stud" in the MLB. However, there will have to be an injury or someone in the rotation will have to struggle for him to be brought up. Offman said McCarthy WILL pitch for the Sox this year, most likely later in the season. Offman also thinks that Ben Davis will be traded, possibly for a veteran utility guy even though the Sox like Ozuna. He sees our catching duo being Pierzynski and Burke with Widger being our backup catcher in the minors.
  18. They may need Borchard just for his defense, just so they don't have to play Alou in RF.
  19. I understand why they signed him (big year and Felipe) but he is bad enough in LF. I can't believe they thought it would be a good idea to stick him in SBC's RF. Alou is pretty much a DH at this stage in his career. I almost want to watch some Giants' games just to see Moises flop around there. There's no more ivy for Alou to kick balls into.
  20. According to WSCR 670 The Score, Garland's chest/bicep is a bit tender. He should be fine though.
  21. It would make some sense with Bonds potentially missing most of the season, according to his own words. Not that there's a chance in hell that Borchard could come close to Bonds' production but they could still use a power-hitting outfielder. Right now they are planning to go with Pedro Feliz in LF and Moises Alou in RF. They could put Borchard in RF and move Alou back to the position he should be playing, LF. Alou has absolutely NO business playing that RF.
