  1. What free agent 3rd baseman that could put up similar numbers to Nakamura and at a fraction of the cost is still available? Please don't tell me it's any of these guys... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/features/fre...il&positionId=5
  2. That's great but you thought it was ridiculous when I suggested him and the Dodgers could be interested.
  3. I can't believe people still miss Wunsch. He was a situational lefty that couldn't stay healthy. We don't even need him anymore with the current state of our bullpen.
  4. Well if Mackowiak beat out Crede for the job at 3rd base, Crede could be our righty bat off the bench.
  5. Excellent idea. Email it to Kenny. Our infield would be set with Mackowiak: 1B Konerko / Gload 2B Iguchi / Mackowiak / Valdez 3B Crede / Mackowiak SS Uribe / Valdez
  6. Rob Mackowiak. That wouldn't be a bad trade at all. He can play multiple positions -- 3B, 1B, RF, LF, and even some CF and 2B. The Pirates already have Ty Wiggington and Bobby Hill who can both play 2B and 3B. Plus, Mackowiak grew up a die-hard Sox fan. He would be a perfect fallback plan if Crede busts again. The only problem is that he is a lefty bat and we need a righty off the bench.
  7. Told ya someone would sign him... http://rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/p...ort=MLB&id=4948
  8. The Tigers are set to offer Ordonez a 5-year, $70 million contract??? What the f*ck?!? http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews...ts/10752346.htm
  9. I guess there's no such thing as a lefty reliever in your scenario. :rolly So you are going to bank on Wilson Valdez to hit lefties for our team? What a joke. I'd still rather have one good 2nd baseman that can hit both righties and lefties. Hopefully, that guy is Iguchi. Maybe he even knows how to steal a base, unlike Willie.
  10. I'm not saying either is better than the other. I'm saying that I'd rather have a guy that can hit lefties AND righties.
  11. Since when does "part-time" player have to mean 50-50? It means that he has to platoon with a right-handed 2nd baseman that can actually hit lefties. You are arguing over semantics.
  12. Do you refute the fact that if a player can't hit lefties at all then he can't be a full-time player? Willie is a platoon 2nd baseman at best.
  13. If Willie can't hit lefties he's a part-time player. Aaron Miles can switch-hit.
  14. Aaron Miles hit .293 in his first full season with the Colorado Rockies last season. I don't want to hear any excuses for Willie.
  15. Did we sign Rob Nen or something?
  16. Did you ever think that maybe Ray King made a mistake? Look at the names of some of the players on the Japan team... http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/NASApp/m...nt=roster_japan Some of them have similar names to Tadahito Iguchi. For example... INF Toshihisa Nishi OF Takahiro Saeki Where else would Ray King have seen Iguchi play?
  17. A Tigers reporter is saying on MLB.com radio that the Tigers have made Ordonez a multi-year (more than 2 years) offer.
  18. HOW DID RAY KING EVEN SEE IGUCHI PLAY??? IGUCHI WASN'T EVEN ON THE DAMN JAPAN ALL STAR SERIES '04 ROSTER!!! http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/NASApp/m...nt=roster_japan
  19. Yeah guys, look at all of the box scores for the Japan All Star Series '04 here... http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/NASApp/m...y2004/index.jsp Tadahito Iguchi did not have one at bat. Ray King made a mistake. I'm thinking that the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks had already posted Iguchi so that he could enter the MLB, meaning that he wasn't eligible to play in the Japan All Star Series.
  20. Who cares about Ray King's opinion? He apparently never even faced Iguchi because Iguchi was not even on Japan's team... Japan All Star Series '04 Roster http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/NASApp/m...nt=roster_japan Ray King was listed as on the MLB team though... http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/NASApp/m...tent=roster_mlb Just goes to show that Ray King must not be very bright.
  21. I hope he has a huge Spring Training. I would cream my pants if he has half the talent of Ichiro.
  22. We could use another good lefty reliever. We only have two lefties that will make the opening day roster -- Cotts and Marte. And I don't have much confidence in Cotts. If Willie could also play SS, I would be all for keeping him.
  23. Yes, we shall. I would only want to see us trade Willie if we got a good utility infielder that can play SS or a lefty reliever. I don't see any reason to trade him for a minor leaguer, unless it's a really good minor leaguer.
  24. Willie may not even make it to Spring Training with the White Sox.
  25. My guess is Paulino Reynoso but there's no word yet.
