Soxbadger, I'm just not a big Willie fan. The guy thinks he's an All-Star when he has never even sniffed hitting .300. The guy was at Sox Fest with his "handlers" and he was signing autographs while he was talking on his cell phone. We don't need any egomaniacs on this team that think they're the sh*t. We need team chemistry.
Oh please, give it a rest. :rolly That's the biggest load of bs I've ever heard. Ever heard of being a team player and accepting your role? It's not like Willie set the world on fire and earned the starting spot at 2nd base. There's a reason the Sox benched Willie -- HE WASN'T PRODUCING!!!
This is exactly why the article pissed me off. Willie is killing his trade value for the Sox with his stupid comments. If every other team out there knows that Willie is unhappy and could start to be a cancer to the team, they won't offer as much for him in a trade.
Pitchers with potential pretty much get raises through arbitration even if they don't improve on their previous year's performance (see Jon Garland). Garland made $2.3 million last season but he is going to earn $3.4 million in 2005.
Arbitration process = 30% raise :puke
I hope Pablo Ozuna comes up huge in Spring Training so he can be our backup utility guy at 2B and SS. I don't want to see Wilson Valdez on our opening day roster. :puke
Whatever happened to Mark Wohlers? He had a 100 mph fastball. My point is that a pitcher can have a 100 mph fastball but without any control it doesn't mean much.
The Cubs would save more than that...

What is Willie set to make in 2005? $400,000? If so, the Cubs would be saving $1,575,000.
Why do you guys think that the Cubs would trade Farnsworth for another lefty 2nd baseman when they just signed Walker for 2 years and have a weak bullpen as it is? :headshake
Still, the Cubs' bullpen is very weak and I don't think they could afford to trade Farnsworth anyways. I'm sure there is a team out there that would want Willie though.
Well, as much as I dislike Farnsworth he has trade value for that very reason. I don't think Willie would be enough to net Farnsworth, especially when the Cubs' bullpen is already in shamble as it is.
A 100 mph fastball is overrated, especially without any location.
"Why are you looking at me?"
By the way, how is Farnsworth moving from Wrigley to the Cell's even bigger launching pad going to help Farnsworth?
