QUOTE (iamshack @ May 20, 2017 -> 09:13 AM) Who is Ryan McGuffey? CSN producer. He's done some really great stuff of Garfeins podcast about our minor leagues, did a long embedded trip with each. He's gotten decent info, probably similar sources as Garfein.

If Q was in NL he'd have had a sub 2 era every year I guarantee it.

Ha, he's already 20th, that's amazing.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 19, 2017 -> 10:05 PM) Maybe stop batting Melky so high, especially vs LHP. Have a feeling he's going to get way too much playing time for the rest of the season. Yeah there are so many good options other than melky. Look at the buffet of great hitters all over. Really missing a chance. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 19, 2017 -> 03:34 PM) Haha jokes on you, the cover up is of all the leaks that have been happening. Because that is the real story here, the leaks. Or maybe its the cover up of Benghazi and the emails. Thats what I heard on Fox, so must be true. Fox is only covering dam leaks and the weather now. What bombshell reports?

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 19, 2017 -> 02:58 PM) Anyone have a good guess as to who this person of interest is in the White House? #1 guess is Jared.

They just nominated Donald Trump, not going to rule anything out.

You never know, freak accidents occur all the time. He could have tried to grab something that whipped him in the wrong position. Really sad for the family.

Unsurprising: "While the case began quietly last July as an effort to determine whether any Trump associates coordinated with Russian operatives to meddle in the presidential election campaign, the investigative work now being done by the FBI also includes determining whether any financial crimes were committed by people close to the president. The people familiar with the matter said the probe has sharpened into something more fraught for the White House, the FBI and the Justice Department — particularly because of the public steps investigators know they now need to take, the people said."

I suppose we will be talking soon about very big news but WaPo https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/nation...m=.448e4de5056f Summary: sources close to investigation say Senior WH official is now a person of interest in the Russia probe and it is now moving to subpoena phase NYT: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/19/us/polit...p-news&_r=0 In a readout of the visit between Russia and US Trump told the Russian ambassador to US and diplomat that firing the FBI director eased pressure off of him, and the spin was that it was implying that they owed him one. The self-destructive behavior is unmatched. The investigation itself is become much more real than I thought. I can't stand this white house. We are seeing the natural endpoint of dominance politics and guess what, the "i'm going to win" is not applying one iota to the country itself, it is always and will always be about Trump.

That doesn't have anything to do with 6-7 years ago when people thought the bigger issue was structural and not demand driven. We hit full employment and suddenly those thought to be structurally out of workforce reappear as employable. That's good for wages anyhow. But money is still not pushing to labor for other reasons.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 19, 2017 -> 09:37 AM) If you broke it down into Rust Belt, Deep South and Appalachia....you'd still see some huge anomalous areas that don't fit with the coastal trends quite so well. Not really. Macro indicators are pretty good indicators. Even WV at 4.7, full employment is why these groups would drag back in. https://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/laus.pdf

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 19, 2017 -> 08:11 AM) I saw Wayne Brady as Burr. He was PERFECT for the smarmy politician parts in the first half of the play, and his voice and stage presence were outstanding. I wasn't as impressed with the last parts when he was supposed to be angry and bitter. King George was actually my favorite character and actor, followed by Brady. Also big fan of George Washington and the Skyler sisters. Yeah the Burr I saw captured the anger and disrespect from Burr that propelled it in act II. He was incredible. I liked Jefferson too. He's a very serious person in history but when you get past that it's hard not to view some of his writings in the same vein of a bratty college kid. I thought playing him as comic relief worked well.
