  1. Also, Carter Kieboom having a breakout year worth watching, while Gleyber Torres after a poor start has turned it on and is now near .800 ops in AA with a .375 OBP. We largely would have done well with all except pirates deals, but I don't think Meadows slashline is that bad in AAA.
  2. Robles is also tearing it up in A+. Acuna (braves, who are aggressive) just moved him up to AA after an .800 OPS in A+. He hit a HR in his first game in AA.
  3. FWIW Seth Romero was just kicked off Houston. He is very unlikely a first round draftee to say the least.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 10, 2017 -> 11:10 AM) Do we have proof that she is among the living? I don't buy it On the other hand why have her on? If it will just be her spouting lies and deflections and no value comes out, why bring her? (I know it's because people love to hate watch her answers but)
  5. The meeting for more resources is being confirmed in several outlets now. Still unclear what day it was, but the timeline of "last week trump started asking for rationale to fire Comey" and "last week Comey asked the DAG, who wrote his letter of reasons to fire him, for more resources to investigate the Trump campaign" is ... not a good look. It would be an open and transparent attempt to thwart an ongoing investigation into the presidency, and something that should require an independent congressional investigation.
  6. I think the Trout comparisons were mostly due to body type. I think Cano is more apt for hitting style.
  7. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/10/us/polit...-share&_r=0 Days before he was fired, Comey asked for more money for his Russian ties investigation from the deputy AG who wrote up the rationale for his firing. Edit: oh and also we can stop pretending this moved organically up the chain of command;
  8. Brewers have had a really solid and well done rebuild.
  9. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ May 10, 2017 -> 10:30 AM) Moncada's K rate is down to 21.7% over his last 15. If he can keep it there that is perfectly acceptable for a guy with power who walks more than 10% of the time. I believe it when they say there is no rush to call him up but I really don't think money is a big factor. You're talking $10 million spread out between 2020 and 2023. That's chump change to an MLB team. I think if Moncada proves his performance is real over another couple weeks he'll be up. I really don't see them waiting until the Super 2 date especially since he already accrued 31 days service time with the Red Sox last year. At soxfest they mentioned so many times they want their prospects to overcome struggle prior to MLB, and I think that's the logic here. I think they want to see him get tested and see how it goes. I think they want him for the additional year, but I don't think super 2 is that big of a deal to them.
  10. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 10, 2017 -> 09:08 AM) Because the GOP is willing to go along with this, and they control all of the oversight. There are zero consequences for anything Trump does. Wellp, I had optimism for a few hours. It was wonderful. The worst part about this to me is if we survive the trashing of the rule of law and constitutional norms all in the name of a tax cut, that when these assholes are out of power they will still be on our tv screens talking about their time in the white house.

    5/9 Games

    What a shot in the arm a resurgence by Adolfo is.
  12. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ May 10, 2017 -> 08:57 AM) Huh? It's just SLG-AVG. Thanks, I forgot that part and remembered after omar's response.
  13. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 10, 2017 -> 08:50 AM) It's listed on Fangraphs. Moncada's ISO is currently .204. I guess I could have done that math on my own, but there you go. Another weakness from Lillian he is actually good in.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 10, 2017 -> 08:39 AM) So - what can actually be done other than b****ing and moaning about everything? At some point, who can step in? No one. 2 Republican senators have expressed concern, Sasse and Burr. 1 more is needed to make the confirmation of the next FBI director go through. Corker is probably best shot. But it seems like the fact that the admin is run by idiots mean most didn't realize it was legally in issue for Trump to do this because he was upset with Russia. As that continues to come out, it's only going to get worse. But the confirmation of the new director can be tied to a deal for a special prosecutor. Of course, Sessions should resign, and there is so much going on that he is avoiding heat that should be on him for saying he recused himself but being a part of this process.
  15. Is there a place to find ISO for minor leagues?
  16. I am glad we are taking this route though I'm anxious to see him. I have not been able to see much, but when he comes up he is going to get a steady stream of breaking pitches. He's had success in AAA feasting on first pitch fastballs (it seems), longer he is down there the more adjustments those pitchers can make and he can adjust with less pressure.
  17. So we're just supposed to talk about non white Sox players?
  18. It's only going to get dumber, I am sure of that. I cannot believe Senator Collins is walking along with this.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 9, 2017 -> 08:58 PM) http://www.politico.com/story/2017/05/09/c...a-senate-238187 Is This A Constitutional Crisis? 9 Legal Opinions from across the political spectrum. Scary thought that perhaps the worst senator of my lifetime, Chuck Grassley, will be in charge of the next dog and pony act when Trump nominates a successor to Comey. That's in no way reassuring. Pretty sure you were alive for Strom Thurmon and Jesse Helms.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 4, 2017 -> 03:19 PM) The last times I flew, he still sits backward facing in the car, so I thought I should do the same thing on the plane, and the flight attendants didn't know what to do. On one flight,after plenty of conversation and handbook reading, they had me switch it to forward facing then back to backward facing all before take-off. Then on the way home, they didn't notice until after take-off, so mid flight I had to unhook it and turn it forward facing. I love like they act like there is some important rules to follow when they allow a parent to just hold an infant as an acceptable security situation.
  21. The story of Engel is his constant tweaking though, right? Even if this sticks it's what happens when he cools down again.
