QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 4, 2017 -> 12:46 PM) They've lined up buses to head to the White House in celebration after they vote to destroy the American health insurance system so that they can pass big tax cuts for the wealthy. They're celebrating condemning millions of Americans to pain, suffering, financial destitution and potentially death if they merely get sick. These people are monsters. I appreciate Joe Walsh actually defending what this health care system would be on its actual terms. I continue to be amazed by the cynicism of this house, where the leadership just keeps lying about what the bill is, and has nobody defending the actual merits of the bill aside from "freedom" and "tax cuts".

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 4, 2017 -> 11:54 AM) I'm a fan of Fox. Problem is the one skill he's kind of lacking at this point is kind of an important one. If he can develop any kind of jump shot he's going to be pretty nasty. He is joining the one team where that won't stick out like a sore thumb. But you are right, without one he's just a faster elfred Payton. But he's really fast.

Going to close this and move last few posts to the NFL Offseason thread now that FAs are signed.

Donated to the IL-06 district fund through swing left. Cannot believe Roskam could have been a no for the first one and saw the changes and can say this is better.

This wouldn't be my pick if we were to acquire something like this for Butler, but man the Bulls looked so good when they were busting teams out in transition. I would be so pumped if they could somehow land Deaaron Fox in this draft.

Glad to hear of some progress. Fingers crossed we don't hear "Rodon taking a break" anytime soon.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 4, 2017 -> 11:08 AM) How would we have gotten Wade? And despite how much all of us were done with Kirk during his last stint here, he was the best player left after Wade in 03 so not sure the Jay injury forced them to do anything. Yeah, Hinrich was fine. But I think they were less willing to make that reasonable trade up for Wade knowing that they didn't really have a point guard (Crawford was pretty injury plagued at the time, it is amazing, I'd never have pegged him of all those players to be a 18 something year vet)

Question I have been wondering: Jose has seemed very against moving to DH in interviews. I was wondering if now that he's in arb, if that's a consideration. Would it be a big hit if he gets grouped with DH compensation with the arbiter?

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 4, 2017 -> 10:25 AM) Stop rushing guys to the bigs, bmags. Jeez Listen, he isn't going to strengthen his arm pitching in the minors.

I can't say that I remember a lot about the 02-03 season but I thought Williams looked like a bust. He had that really nice triple double game but couldn't shoot. yeah, blech, under 40% from the field. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/willija03.html

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 4, 2017 -> 10:50 AM) This is really the day I've dreaded. My mom is in basic retail, which added health insurance due to ACA requirements. This is the group that I think will be most vulnerable to the new stripped back requirements on Lifetime caps and pre-existing. With her being only 59, it's going to be a lot of crossing our fingers until she hits medicare age if something like this passes.

I thought he'd been back for like 2 weeks but maybe that is too short.

I would not have guessed Holmberg up before Luebke.

Fargo this season is no match for seasons 1 and 2.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 4, 2017 -> 09:40 AM) Jay Williams was really good too. When Krause left they had Jay Williams, Curry, Chandler, and Crawford. Back then, there was a lot of pressure for Bulls to get "NBA Ready" college players from winning programs. Voila Hinrich. Voila Gordon. Tyrus Thomas was the one real project Pax took and boy was that a disaster.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 3, 2017 -> 08:45 PM) I think it'll get a CBO score before the Senate gets a hold of it though. If a bill this absurd can pass the house, and all of the "moderate" republicans get in line for it, then something awful is actually going to be made a law.
-
I've said it before and I've said it again but I firmly believe Krause was actually on verge of a very solid turnaround that Paxson got to ride the wave on. He really did acquire a crapton of assets that Paxson flipped into a bunch of those knicks picks and really only landed on Deng. Would really love to know if Krause would have been able to acquire Wade in 03 at the draft. Crawford/Wade/Chandler...then you have to get into alternative history where we still make the knicks trades... but potential for crawford/wade/deng/chandler core.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 4, 2017 -> 08:33 AM) So if you were raped, your health insurance costs will now go up as a pre-existing condition. That's absolutely insane. I don't think people remember how poor the equity of health coverage was pre ACA changes.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 3, 2017 -> 11:25 PM) You are correct sir, sox were 14th last year, 4th so far this year. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=...=&players=0 Thanks for finding how to run that. I remember Sox actually were among leaders enacting shifts in 2014 and then seemed to pull back from it. But this year, aside from the amount of htem, they seem to be more "dramatic" I guess. It is interesting to me, as it seems like its working, but industry wise seemed like shifts were starting to be pulled back from.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2017 -> 08:08 PM) Well, this has to be one of the most boring games of the season. Boring pitchers, no hitting...at least it's competitive? It's the fourth inning -

Mizzou just took in grad transfer Kassius Robertson. Shot 40% from 3 at Cannisius. -
Another pitcher injury. Marcus stroman just left game with discomfort in his armpit.
-
This bill is brutal, worse than the first, but they learned their lesson not to wait for the CBO. This is almost astonishingly cynical.
-
They have been seemingly much more aggressive this year with shifting. We have a much lower Babip than the league and I wonder how much of a driver this is. Have there been any big write ups on our changes? I heard Merk made some comments on it earlier this game.
-
We had to seriously consider it but the killer part was largely even if we made up our fixed costs (housing/car/etc), I had no idea how I would make up the retirement/savings on my own. It was a huge hit.
