Spiegel: White Sox Hot Start Not A Fluke
Honestly I feel like the score talks plenty sox. I mostly only listen saturday mornings but they always have a big stone segment and it seems split 50/50

Carlos Sanchez up, Robertson to Bereavement
Considering Jones was in line to close in 2014 before his injury, I'm gonna guess he has first stab.

Naturally. Let me modify though - No pick aside from lynch will shock me if the BEARS are picking at 11.

I'm not sure any pick would shock me at 11 (except Paxton Lynch).

Spiegel: White Sox Hot Start Not A Fluke
I disagree. He was good in CF in 2014. Had a lot of misplays in April/May 2015, was generally fine to good after that. Alexei was terrible April/May and generally pretty good after he had his "talking to".

Spiegel: White Sox Hot Start Not A Fluke
QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 02:49 PM) I guess it depends on your definition of a fielding slump. If you consider a week of play with 12 errors committed a slump, then yeah, defense slumps. To me, and perhaps Spiegel, that's not a slump, just a bad week. A slump would be bad defense for a month or two. Adam Eaton had at least 6 weeks of bad CF play last year before recovering in June.

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 02:31 PM) Sox come home next week and i see Tues through Sat Sunny in the 60's? Yahoo weather much more pessimistic, though the sox just emailed me it would be sunny and 60s for next week.

Carlos Sanchez up, Robertson to Bereavement
The 10 day forecast looks like garbage in every place Sox play. May have a lot of rainouts.

*Man loses father* Fan response: S***! We have to use a nother player for 3 days. UGHGHG. I hope he gets some family time.

That really sucks for the Bears. That's two (3 if you consider Baylor DE) defensive players that have dropped out of top ten, sucking up the player pool from the Bears.

There is one nice thing about playing 80 games in a row in April, largely with one lineup - our infield gained chemistry in a hurry.

Early Trade Speculation
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 12:08 PM) The Sox don't need another right handed version of Dunn/LaRoche. Adam dunn would be a huge help, actually.

This is going to be a fun draft.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 12:41 PM) It looks like there is a decent shot that Jack is actually on the board @ 11. I don't see him getting by ravens, unless ramsey AND he are there.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 12:22 PM) In general, I hate hate hate the idea of trading up and love the idea of trading down (early in the draft) and than in later rounds I'd leverage those picks to get more guys I ultimately wanted. Basically as long as I thought I could move down and still get guys with similar grades, I'd do it all day long and accumulate the picks. I personally can not justify moving up to grab a RB, however, If the Bears view Bosa / Buckner as huge difference makers (vs. who will be there @ 11), than I could justify the move. That said, I hate the idea of giving up a pick and I presume to move up 3 spots in the 1st round you are talking a 3rd round pick plus something else, right)? I'd be okay with trading up for tunsil/jack/ramsey if they slide past 6 and bears love them. But I think the bears feel good about trading down. Problem is, they feel good about trading down for a lot of the same reasons I can't see a team at 20 feeling the need to trade up.

I feel like "fit" with a fangio scheme isn't so important. Give him a guy that's disruptive and he will find a way to use it. Do we honestly think Aaron Donald would not be fitting with our coaching staff? Hopefully he's 90% aaron donald.

Early Trade Speculation
I still think Chris Carter is realistic option.

4/28 Game thread: @ Baltimore, 6:05pm, CSN
Sox deserve rainouts. OTOH, know a few sox fans in baltimore that wanted to see this team. Hope they play for them.

Pitching numbers are unreal
Sure he's had a good start to the season but people will finally figure him out this year with his "fastballs"
-
So let's talk about the real change this year...
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 09:10 AM) I think Lawrie has actually better than Sanchez was. Their range has been pretty similar in my eyes, but Lawrie has an absolute cannon for an arm. Sanchez didn't have the throw going up the middle. Lawrie makes it look routine. I have felt the same. There has not been a play to Lawrie this season where I've thought "Sanchez would have had that", to the extent that Sanchez is better, it is luckily very small. It's also just really nice to be able to have 3 3rd baseman on the roster to spell Frazier as a DH or bench player. Again, this is where Leury is attractive to me in that he can be a 2b and OF. Would love if we traded for a blum type to give us more versatility than Shuck/Sands.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 10:01 AM) It feels like Sale winning the Cy Young is inevitable, while Q would be a triumph over the whole "underrated" thing. Q would be snake triumphing over man

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
God I hope Q wins the cy young after that crap. Actually as much as I love Sale, I don't think I could be more excited by a thought (Aside from world series) than Q winning a cy young.

QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 09:23 AM) Is it possible that Noah Spence falls to the second? If the Bears do not snag a pass rusher with their first pick I would love if they can grab Spence with their second pick. I don't know, this week I started hearing that as push came to shove, it was likely he was going in 10-20 range.

This is probably more fun for Rock than others, but curious - For those that have a college team - is there any player you'd like to see up on the bears? I'd love if a late (4th round or later) pick ended up netting the bears Kentrell Brothers.
