  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 02:18 PM) Lawrie...it does no use having him getting on base batting 6th if the 7-9 hitters are some of the worst in baseball. Just stack it with Eaton/Lawrie/Abreu/Frazier/Melky and hope for the best I still think Melky should bat second Eaton Melky Abreu Frazier Lawrie jackson rollins avila/navarro Garcia/trashman.
  2. Yes, my understanding is that leak on his knee was malicious. From what I understand, he passed all 32 teams medicals.
  3. It makes her and the teachers union look week, if the only sense of power they can claim is making personal insults. I hope an independent arbitrator gets called in. I don't trust the children in charge to make judgments at this point. Claypool is a fiscal idiot for signing that bonds deal, lewis is playing demagogue, and the state doesn't even have a budget to negotiate on.
  4. I honestly just hope we trade down if we can get more picks in this deep draft. Will be pumped for bosa/jack/ramsey at 11, but would love if we can move down and get someone like Mackenzie Alexander plus picks.
  5. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 09:02 AM) Is some team really going to pay Josh Norman 16 million a year? I think the Panthers were smart to let him go. I'm not sure any CB is worth 16 million a year. Especially not one who had one good year. Still not sure it wasn't worth holding him for a year during a championship window. That has to be a pretty freakin big distraction.
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 09:06 AM) Brad Biggs was on the score this morning musing that the Browns will take Elliott at 8 if he is there, to keep the OSU star in state and try and drive up fan interest. Cardale makes sense too but if they take him at 8, well, that is the Browns for you Makes sense and they have the picks now to make RB on a high pick.
  7. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 08:43 AM) They joined the prestigious 10-win club by 4/23 during the magical 2007 season. Didn't they make it to first place in late may that year before it all fell apart?
  8. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 02:48 PM) What other parts do you disagree with? I didn't include Jack because of his knee. We know the top 2 will be QB's. SD needs an OT badly. Elliott makes a ton of sense at 4 for Dallas but so does Ramsey. Ramsey would be an easy pick for the Jags. The Ravens need pass rushing help. The 49ers have lost two top 10 OT's over the last few years and Stanley is really good. Cleveland needs a QB. Tampa really needs CB help. I say Treadwell because NYG needs a WR, S and CB. In my scenario they could go Hargreaves but I have TB snatching him up, but there are rumors he may have failed a drug test at the combine. There's no safety worth taking at 10. Treadwell has as sure of hands as we've seen in awhile. Sorry, I was distracted when I was writing and didn't mean it to come across so incredulous at your mock draft, I was going to finish a point that the best made plans are going to be laid to waste in this draft as I think Tunsill is going to be a wildcard that ping pongs around. I wouldn't be surprised if the Chargers go Ramsey or trade down.
  9. Karen Lewis called Rauner an ISIS recruit and a liar yesterday. Further showing how strong of a mayoral candidate she was.
  10. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 04:45 PM) I could! I guess I don't see why that's a problem. ETA: If I'm middle of the road policy wise, and four years ago, I wasn't sure if I preferred Romney to Obama, I might have wanted to pull an R because I'd rather choose between Romney and Obama than Obama and Herman Cain. This year, if I'm middle of the road, I might want to pull an R ballot to vote for Kasich or I might want to pull a D ballot to vote for Hillary, because I'd rather have Hillary than Sanders or Kasich to Trump/Cruz. In either event, I'm identifying with the potential candidates for the highest office in the country. In either event, I'm not voting maliciously. In either event, I'm not legally estopped from pulling the ballot if I jump through the hoops to timely change my affiliation. Why is changing parties each primary season as described above a bad thing? I think we have different definitions of "jumping through hoops"
  11. Honestly not sure this is a bridge I will cross. I get that there are two parties and you feel you are above them. But registering as a republican or democrat has literally one benefit and it is being a part of the process in nominating them. Fine with standardizing them nationally, but still...if you aren't a democrat, why should you be guaranteed to be able to vote for their party leader?
  12. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) Because only two political parties' nominees matter when it comes to deciding the most important office in the country. Restricting access to voting in either of the two primaries because I don't identify as D or R is undemocratic and specifically leads to the fringes of parties nominating candidates. Again, I don't have to pay dues to the Democrats or Republicans to participate. I don't have to pledge fealty to that party, so even if I identify myself as an R in NY 6 months in advance of the election, I can still vote D in the general. There is no logic in saying "independent voter, you don't have a say in either the nominee from the Republican party or the Democratic party because you didn't check a box. I'm not advocating a system where people get to vote in both primaries. But restricting access to either party is a bad system. Give me a system where I show up on primary day and pick D or R for my ballot. Don't give me a system where I'm disenfranchised from the pick. You could switch party affiliations every election.
  13. STupid white sox that are TERRIBle win another game and will NEVER win again
  14. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 03:52 PM) The margin of error set by an offense that scores ~2 per game doesn't allow for much. Maybe they got lucky that time, but now the closer has to navigate some pretty rough waters with only a 1-run lead because defense didn't get it done. And because it's not sunny now does not mean there will never be sunshine. The sox are in the lead in the ninth. There are worse positions to be in.
  15. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 03:48 PM) If the Sox aren't gonna score they to be perfect in the other facets. They are going to lose this game because Frazier/Sands blew that play. Dude.
  16. just need to poke it into the OF. Or passed ball? How bout a passed ball.
